If someone falls for this kind of stupid scams, then I am sorry to say, they deserve to get scammed. At least they won't be greedy or quick to jump into a fishy offer in the future. They will think twice before claiming such offers.

There's probably a guy named marco sitting alone in his room and making all these announcements and acting like he's the head dev, admin, social media promoter, front end programmer, he's all of it. I saw projects like that where 1 or 2 guys do it all and pose as a "team of crypto enthusiasts backed by angel investors"

Nobody will give you anyuthing of value for free. If they're saying you can buy BTC 50% cheaper from them it's a scam. Later they'll probably say that the bitcoin was 50% cheaper compared to halving so after halving it's going to be at 17 thousand USD so now they'll sell you at 8.5 - and you got it for half the price.

Lots of bitcoin users are spreading awareness to provide newbies with information of what promotions they should avoid. It is stupid enough to fall for this kind of scam that everyone keeps on spreading, they should also realize that having a huge discount or if the promotion is far from reality is one way to confirm if it is a scam or not.

Last week, I found an airdrop project in Telegram called Marco Protocol, the airdrop looked decent at the first stage, I earned 200 MAPC tokens and that was instant! But you only can withdraw from your MAP wallet when Airdrop program will end, that's good, I am okay with it. Their airdrop tweet got 8K retweet and 9K likes, so, you can understand how hype it had!
But yesterday, they announced they are going to sell Bitcoin at a 50% discount to celebrate the halving. Can you imagine? 1 Bitcoin price is 8600 USD, people can buy by 4300$! I believe This is absolutely scam but many newbies already have fallen for that! As they saw MAPC has huge support in twitter, and they listed on CMC too.

9k likes and 8k retweets can be generated easily. So you must not believe this kind of thing. Always check the information of the airdrop manager if he or she is a legitimate or not. You can basically tell it depends on their background. Analyze every situation before doing such things like this one. Be careful because there are a lot of scammers as of now.

Yes, no one gonna fall for this sureshot scam, I believe crypto people are not that fool anymore to fall in this scam. But yet there are many newbie people came for the halving hype, they can fall in this scam too as I saw some streaming scams worked in scammers favor. I really wondered by seeing the scammer's unique plans for scamming. Maybe we need to spread more words to make awareness in the crypto space.

It is just inevitable to find some people fall into traps like this. Sometimes I just try to imagine:
Who does that?
Who gives out such a huge amount for a giveaway?

We just need to think before taking some steps, else there will continue to be more victims.
Scammers can do anything to see people fall prey of their shady deals. They would have found a way to ensure that their projects are well hyped so that people can be more convinced.

Telegram is full of such scams, i am even added to such channels automatically where people claim they sent bla bla amount and received double btc in 10 minutes, i do not fall for such scams now as i have experienced similar one when i was new to this community but now i have become more careful.

as you have said those people came because of the hype of halving, it is true. This is outrageously huge scam which most cryptocurrency newbies will fall for, they thinking bitcoin will be sold half of it's current price it something we need to always bring up announcements like this everywhere for them to be awared of the kind of scam some of this project owners are involving in to rip people off their hard earned money. Indeed Marco protocol had an airdrop, I didn't participate when I heard they were going to have a conversation ratio, I abandoned the airdrop. This stupid thing is based on the mentality of wanting to get rich quickly or fortunately in an instant fast way, let's say greedy. This is indeed terrible when someone is trapped by their own mistakes and then tells that bad experience to others with the wrong perspective, it will make it worse. I think newbies are not greedy, maybe they only have a lack of good knowledge about crypto. Most of the newbie came to make money because they see their friends earned huge money from crypto, bull run things, halving and so on, so, they get hype and registered in crypto! Most of them have no practical idea or knowledge about this great technology! We need to make them aware of these scams attempts. Scammers are being cleaver, so, expert people should share the knowledge with the newbie!
