There are some coins that I have even forgotten about, including MONA, RDD, GBYTE, and NXT and maybe there are others. That's the problem with "hodling" old coins. They tend to be abandoned by the next big thing in the crypto/Blockchain space. Even if their blockchain networks remain healthy and trading activity continues, other coins (especially newer ones) will experience the most gains on the market. Consider NXT which "lost its luster" right after ARDR (its successor) came into inception a while ago. Many people have switched to the new chain, leaving the old one in the dust. Even developers are considering to support the new chain on top of the old one. At least, the code is open source which allows anyone to continue improving the project at any point in time. But long-term "holders" will be the most affected by the lack of demand from their old crypto of choice.

It's impressive to see MONA and RDD remain actively traded on the market after all these years. Even Dogecoin is still being actively traded on the market despite being abandoned by its devs a long time ago. Some people seem to love old coins over newer ones on the market. I've been limiting myself from "hodling" lots of old coins, as the risk of loss is too high. Choosing two or three old coins to "hodl" for the long term like NMC and PPC would be the best decision to do. If demand surges for these coins, I could use the profit to buy new coins on the market. Just my thoughts

I also have held many types of altcoins. it's just because of the price changes that occurred in 2019, I sold a lot of my assets. however, the asset that I am holding right now is ethereum. There were a lot altcoins and for time the numbers of altcoins are increasing day by day. As above mentioned most investors don't prefer to hold old altcoins for a long term, that is why as you know most of them are dead. It is so risky to hold them, it is wasting-time. l don't think that most of them can have good future, but everything is possible in crypto space.
