The oldest altcoin that I hold in my portfolio is XLM, I have known this altcoin since 2014 but until 2016 I started to invest in it, this project has brought quite a lot returns to me so I always choose it in my portfolio

Stellar Lumens is a very good-old coin with fast transaction fees and cheap fees. As the team eliminated Stellar's built-in inflation mechanism, the XLM cryptocurrency should have a higher price in the future. With a proven track record of development and innovation, you can rest assured that your investment will last a lifetime. It's one of those old coins that are worth holding nowadays.

Another old coin that I'd like to mention (and that I'm still holding) is Peercoin. It's the first PoS cryptocurrency ever created that has stood the test of time. While the stake rate of 1% APR is quite low, it makes the coin's price relatively stable on the market. A higher stake rate would devalue the cryptocurrency further. The fact that PPC has a solid development team and a vibrant community behind it, makes it a great long term investment. It's one of the most undervalued and underrated cryptocurrencies on the market right now. But I guess that people are mostly focused on new projects in the crypto space. Right now, there's a lot of buzz surrounding "De-Fi" and stablecoins. As such, one would expect old coins' prices to go lower in the short term.

All in all, it's best to diversify your investment between old and new coins to minimize risks as much as possible. I usually hold a very limited quantity of old coins due to the fact that they're often de-listed from mainstream crypto exchanges. New coins often have a lot of trading volume on the market, because of the increased demand in the mainstream world. As soon as they're replaced by the "new kid on the block", they'll become de-listed just like it's the case with old coins right now. Which is why, holding old coins brings a lot of risks to the investor. Just my opinion Smiley

I'm holding on to some of our just released Age of Chains crypto collectible trading cards. They come as limited hardware wallet editions (in oldschool 3.5" floppy disk format).  Cheesy

I have kept many old coins so far in the hope of making a good profit. Hopefully these coins will hit very hard one day. I still have a lot of coins like verified coins, trade coins and sxdt. I hope I can benefit a lot.

until now I still hold old tokens that cannot be traded even though some can but do not have a price.  the coins are estimated to be around 2017

Unfortunately, most old coins and tokens turn out to become de-listed from crypto exchanges over time. That's largely because developers and the community as a whole, abandon cryptocurrencies due to lack of interest. A cryptocurrency or token that's unable to provide real use cases in the mainstream world, will not survive for long. As well as you do, I hold old coins and tokens that are now completely worthless. I should've sold them while they were still traded on the market. Only a few old coins like Dogecoin and Litecoin have remained actively traded on the market, despite their lack of development and innovation (especially Dogecoin). I have a lot of DOGE in my wallet, as it's a inexpensive cryptocurrency useful for micropayments. Despite being old and abandoned by developers, DOGE has its particular use cases in the mainstream world. It's one of the old coins that I'll continue to "hodl" for a very long time.

All in all, it's best to diversify your investment into both old and new coins to reduce risks as much as possible. I wouldn't put all of my life savings in an old coin, since it can be de-listed anytime resulting in the loss of your investment the long run. The less old coins you hold, the better it'll be for you. Just my opinion Smiley

I have some old coin in my portfolio, though, I'm sceptical about the date of establishment. I know dogecoin is an old coin and has a huge supply. Dogecoin was one of the few cryptocurrency that I had because of the value was quite cheaper than many others and getting the wallet wasn't a problem since free mobile wallet like coinomi supported the coin.

A lot of cryptocurrencies have been created throughout time.

I personally have not held onto any old or even dead blockchains.

But I am working on a new project focused on old blockchains and with the attempt of reviving them.

I wanna ask what everyone here is holding onto.

I am mainly interested in coins from 2014 and older, but anything you deem "old" is welcome! Smiley

I might hit you up if I find your coin interesting Cheesy

One of my new picks is Leacoin because of its age and simple configuration.

The old coins that I hold on so far are Nem, Ethereum, And SC of course Bitcoin was already given to hold in the long term.
Then, I hold coins that are on top in the market so far on which are Link, Bnb, Cred, Busd, Band and Kcs and Eos as well and
etc.

For now I still hold LTC, EOS and 0x. LTC will soon be on a testnet and for 0x because the DeFi project is on the rise. Actually I look more at the Top 20 coinmarketcap and I think what I'm holding right now is safe enough to long term hodler. I invest in new coins / tokens for the short term.
when everyone suggested holding ethereum, but I don't see ethereum in the portfolio you have. Yeah, but you're still holding onto a fine coin. however, so far I am also holding onto the old, and very potential coin, ethereum. Well, most people have always advised against ethereum.

I've disposed my portfolio consisting of new project..... I can't take the risk of holding them during the global crisis and extreme bear market because not all of them will survive the storm and as such i can only trust already established coins and tokens. My current portfolio contains most of the coins in the 10 of cryptomarketcap ranking with special preference to BTC, ETH and BNB

I thought, it seems like Waves is not very popular these days, but I have it, holding it since 2018. They have a strong community and an amazing platform. and I am also planning to buy a number of CHAINLINK and TRX, just waiting for funds.

I dont trust minex team, they look like most project that are only waiting to bull market to pump and have scam exit. we need to be smart with our position in this market. I sold my minex at almost the ATH price and Dont think I can hold the coin, considering the community, team in-activities and market cap. We need to be sincere with ourself some coin are meant to be sold out completely especially with there present position in the market.

Ontology, I still keep Ontology and have bought it again when the price is cheap, if you look at Coinmarketcap, ONT still has a negative ROI,
of course this is a good opportunity for the long term

We all have a large number of old coins that are no longer useful, most of these projects existed with the advent of ethereum protocol which gave them the opportunity to create tokens. In year 2017, we had a large list of ICO's and these projects were created for several reasons and purpose, most of the projects failed and we're stuck with them.

I participated in a lot of bounty campaigns during 2017 and 2018 and received at least 20-25 different tokens as reward. I never dumped all of these tokens. I kept at least 10% of them in my wallet, for long-term. However this turned out to be a horrible decision, as almost all of these tokens are worthless now. These are some of the tokens I am holding:

1. RPM
2. EBTC
3. TMT
4. KICK
5. WPP
6. MIN
7. STORM
8. BOB

You are right, you made a great choice of holding because currently the market situation is very worst which we might see most of the altcoins are losing their value and now it is the right time to grab as many coins as possible in this down trend market. Building a portfolio is always good and it will help you to make decent profit in the long term.

You can sell it for cheaper and then make money on the DeFi hype that is going around for a while now and when you have made enough money then again buyback MNX if you feel so, just what these coins are doing in your wallet, sitting and waiting for them to die isn't going to solve your problem, you can become hyperactive and can actually do something about it rather than doing nothing.
I was having a lot of tokens in my waves wallet along with a few waves as well. I also sold all my coins and is planning to invest in some other projects that are running right now.

I had Minexcoin as well. But I didn't manage to buy more coins back in the day where it was extremely popular. Luckily, I've prevented losing all my hard-earned money in it as now "MNX" a defunct cryptocurrency. Sadly, this happens with most old coins out there on the market. They usually tend to get de-listed from crypto exchanges after the loss of interest from developers and individuals alike. It's best to "put your money where your mouth is". By balancing your investment between old and new coins, you can minimize risks as much as possible. The old coins to hold for the long term are: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Monero. The rest will simply get de-listed from major crypto exchanges over time.

I'm still "hodling" the aforementioned coins, as well as, Waves, Namecoin, and Dogecoin. They're not as popular as other coins on the market, but their blockchain networks are still alive and running after all these years. Waves has huge potential in transforming the crypto/Blockchain industry with its unparalleled speeds and unmatched trade settlement engine (with its decentralized exchange). With smart contract functionalities, Waves could become a viable ETH competitor in the future. It's an old coin that has stood the test of time. But with the hype surrounding "De-Fi" and stablecoins right now, Waves is often under the radar of many traders and investors alike. It's the perfect opportunity to buy coins at a cheap price while it lasts.

The less old coins you "hodl", the better it'll be for your financial future. It's time to move on to the next big thing in crypto, by switching to new coins whenever you see the opportunity to do so. Otherwise, you'll be left holding the bag. I have many old coins which are no longer being traded on crypto exchanges, making me a bagholder in return. They may be worthless right now, but at least, their blockchain networks are healthy. I'm still holding them with the hopes they'll see renewed interest in the future. Smiley

I have seen gradual face out of old coins. For the ones remaining so many do not have volumes anymore and I think the developers are no longer interested. New concepts are coming up better than old coins. However, I still have some Doge coin. One can imagine how else the price of Doge can go up in anyway. Recently, Justine through his From blockchain introduced SUN token which is same meme coin as Doge coin.
