Both of them I do not believe, CMC and Coingecko only as a reference and do not necessarily provide data that is really real. In my opinion CMC is better because they are quite tight but for exchange they don't seem real. Coingecko is easy to register projects that are not necessarily real projects, even they have not been registered in exchange.

I will say CoinMarketCap for obvious reasons. CoinMarketCap has an extensive array of resources and one of the most trusted sources of cryptocurrency information in the industry due to its reliability, simplicity and recognition. Recently, the binance acquisition of CoinMarketCap has further cemented its position as the top coin directory. Most crypto projects go to CoinMarketCap for listing due to its importance to their projects.

Depends on what you are looking for, coingecko has more coins listed, and as I noticed they have some tokens I can't find on coinmarketcap. Even thou binance bought coinmarketcap they will be remembered as shady info site, that's why I like coingecko more, for informative purposes only! Those sites should be used for this purpose only, to get some basic information about a specific coin or project, but even that information should be checked on other places too, because you can't fully trust any informative site!

There seems to be nothing complicated in the coinmarketcap interface. Both platforms are easily accessible, but I'm more used to coinmarketcap. The information provided by the two platforms is sufficient to provide the necessary support to the person accessing them. Coingeko has the advantage of having more coins registered, but I use coinmarketcap because the details provided are better structured.

These two are useless according to me, Because they just want money, they do not care if they have listed scam coins or real.

On coingecko, the dynamics of the events occurring with the coin are clearly visible, which allows you to quickly distinguish coin scam.
For example, weak coins will have problems with displaying exchange volumes, as well as have a low level of trading volumes.
Otherwise, both of these sites are just aggregators that are easy to fool.

The thing is, there's just too many manipulation done by some shady exchanges that could easily fool these kind of websites. To see whether a project is really scam or not we should look up into the project itself rather than relying on the data shoved to us from that website. In short, they are not really reliable for us to judge a project.

Normally I used to avoid Coingecko. But today when I visited (after a gap of many months), I found that they had made the site more user friendly. For me, it is easier to get the necessary data now. I am still using Coinmarketcap as my primary source, but I am using Coingecko along with that. And don't forget that Coingecko lists a larger number of coins/tokens when compared to CMC.

I sometimes go to Coingecko because there are some coins at CMC that don't. I think both are great options for everyone, but everyone will feel different when it comes to this. Personally, I still prefer to use CMC because I am familiar with the interface here, and there are many useful tools for me to analyze the potential of that coin accurately.

there shouldn't be a problem, these two sites are related to each other, and can help get accurate information,
indeed Coingecko is not a famous like Coinmarketcap, but Coingecko is a rival of Coinmarketcap

That's right, sometimes I go to coingecko because coinmarketcap doesn't list those tokens. And most of them are bounty tokens, personally I think coingecko would be more suitable for bounty hunters because most of the tokens in this market are listed there.

Since Binance bought the Coinmarketcap I've been using it less and less! I think it's better to use Coingecko or Dropstab... Although some coins still have to look at the CMC...
However, at Coingecko I do not trust the forecast and technical analysis...

For example, I heard lot that P2PB2B is one of the bullshit exchanges because it has fake volume, but why on coinmarketcap can in the top 3?
Whereas on Coingecko P2PB2B is ranked 114, Does coingecko know if it's bullshit exchange? so it's not in the top 3 like in coin marketcap
So which one do you trust more?
I hope its the most common answer - you gotta check both and sometimes find another 3rd service to judge as accurately as possible.
I don't have any feelings about any service, it is all about getting the right info

These website provide basic informations about cryptocurrencies such as price, total coin supply, circulating coin supply, website, news but I do not see any diffrence between both platform. Only coingecko listed more cryptocurrencies, so when the coin is listed on Coinmarketcap, it makes it little bit more worthy.

Personally, I prefer Coingecko because it tracks more exchanges and cryprocurrency than Coinmarketcap. This makes it a better option if you're look for more in-depth data, especially on projects that are not so popular.

In fact, the CMC website is a reliable website and displays accurate coin data. and not much different from CoinGecko which also displays coins, prices and exchanges accurately. but over time everything turned into bullshit. While Coingecko I thought the coin details were more complete and also had lots of coins, I often used Coingecko to check out project data.

For me both are good but both are also quiet deceiving. In this case I suggest that it would be better not to really on it as the final source of judgment about the future of a coin or token. Rather be more serious to find out how the legitimacy of the team.

What I can say is that don't put too much trust in just a single exchange. Spread out the investment so that you don't get to feel bummed when one of the exchanges closed. Idax? Ring a bell?

Both are two good sites, there is also coinpaprika which has the same function. I use a lot of coingecko and it is quite reliable but anyone beat CMC  since it also has an excellent app

For me coinmarketcap is like standard index check or genuine site for checking major holding . I am not generalising for all atleast for me coinmarketcp is standard one . But coingecko where the only one place can check the low volume or dust holding . I found some of holding trade pair in coingecko . So it helped me to sell some of the coins  I thought never sellable. Thanks for coingecko. Also I aground some useful information about token in coin gecko compare to coinmarketcap.

For now you can count on Coinmarketcap and use it. Since CZ ran the coinmarketcap, price manipulation has been removed, small exchanges and fake volumes have been removed from the list. It is a great step to clean this market
