You are pertaining to the new altcoins who were managed by pump and dump schemes. Haven't you supposedly research on that too? Those teams and dev behind the project? Research is not useless as you have said, OP.
If you research well about the project's objective, products and team. You will gonna spot the legit and scam altcoins. We all started researching altcoins for long term investments. Aside from that, it is also important to read some good feedbacks from old investors before buying that particular altcoin.

Doing your research on new coins/tokens is worth it, and if you want to make your investment profitable you probably need to make research first. That's a normal scenario on the IEO's they usually pump on their first week but after that we can expect a big dump on that because of no more hype. I also don't like holding new coins/tokens for long term because I know they will dump and left be out in the market, its too risky to hold.

In addition, not only ETH is only altcoin you can invest with. You can invest coins like BNB and LTC. These are the altcoins that are being still hype even it's launched long time ago. I prefer to invest in altcoins that are already present in the market rather than new altcoins. Many new released altcoins are struggles in surviving the volatility of the market. |

From my perspective rely on new project is not worth at all. Even you had long research no one can guarantee that project is legit. Most of new project turns into a scam or cant survive in long time. So, i suggest to invest on ethereum best altcoin so far.
In addition, not only ETH is only altcoin you can invest with. You can invest coins like BNB and LTC. These are the altcoins that are being still hype even it's launched long time ago. I prefer to invest in altcoins that are already present in the market rather than new altcoins. Many new released altcoins are struggles in surviving the volatility of the market. Altcoins that exist in this market are always better than new altcoins. Currently, the new altcoins are difficult to survive in this market, their prices quickly collapse and there is no volume because of the bad market situation. If you want to invest in altcoins long term, it is better to choose the top altcoins in the market to be safe. |

Lots of altcoins have a strong blockchain and community backing them up so it's worth getting involved before deciding to invest in it. If getting involved in a project yields significant results based on your criteria, then you can consider the idea of investing in a coin.
Just investing purely because of technical analysis won't get you far. Coins that can be analyzed technically are very few and at the top of the list, which normally would take a significant amount of capital to reach decent gains.

Yes. Research is not a 100% guarantee that you will see good results at the end of the project. To be more practical, play safe by investing on bitcoin or ethereum because for sure, both of them will give profits in the long run. Other altcoins are still a waste of time since most of them still go to zero value after some time. |

Yes. Research is not a 100% guarantee that you will see good results at the end of the project. To be more practical, play safe by investing on bitcoin or ethereum because for sure, both of them will give profits in the long run. Other altcoins are still a waste of time since most of them still go to zero value after some time. Investing in new project is not suitable to be choose for long term investment you'll ge a lot of lose in it. Choosing new project for short term investment is more suitable. Even, you aren't greedy you will get a lot of profit in it, like has happened a few times ago. Steem's developer has decided to hardfork and the result hive is new hardfork for steem coin. The hive coin is being listed on binance exchange so as there are a lot of people who buy this coin as much as he can. But as you can see now its price is increasing, it that mean the most investor has sold the coin to avoid a dump. |

Maybe I agree with this, since IEO ever introduced I noticed that some investors are not looking into details or even paying attention to the concept and even purpose of the project. Their goal is simply just to join IEO then take some profit and wait again for another new IEO that will launched.
I am not pessimistic but the altcoin space has been like this and the value of the altcoin are just depend now on trading and no one care what development they have as long as the trading can give them profits. So we can say that altcoin projects has no interest now perhaps we should only look on old projects where development kept pushing not on these new ones.

I want to say that any research on altcoin whatsoever is pure waste of time & energy. it's only the coin devs/team and that can guarantee someone the exact time to invest & exit, it is better to invest and hodl altcoins on the short notice and take profits.
when you're ready to hodl for a long time. It is better you do all that research on trading TA wise for btc & eth than any other altcoin whatsoever.
This is my ample opinion, i will like to further learn from suggestions
If we are careful in doing research on altcoin and right in investing, I think altcoin can provide huge benefits. Altcoin price movements may be unpredictable but sometimes the increase that occurs in one day can reach tens or even hundreds of percent |

Yes, I agree with your views on short-term speculation over long-term investments in the crypto market. Please allow me to state my opinion on this view. We can see the alts listed on big exchanges, soaring prices and then falling miserably and even the Dev team is no longer growing, this happens often. such as Celer, BTT, OATH, ONE. The reason behind that is the fomo of the community. After that fomo wave cooled down, it was time for people to sell their coins to look for other coins and make a profit. Basically, we can see that most people don't invest in technology. they speculate and expect immediate profit, when the prey is empty, people will leave. |

It is true, research is just an initial step for you to gauge if a project has a potential or not. Once the project gathered enough funds for project developent, it all depends on the whole team how will they maximize the fund and how will develop the platform/product as well as marketing which will determine the growth in the long-run.
Can't say much against this position, but I have one particular thing - no one actually knows if dev team of partially successful altcoin will spend their income wisely or waste it. Thus being said you can't know for sure if an alt will dump eventually, so if you believe in one altcoin you can risk your funds and hodl on it |

of course yes. if your goal is to invest using crypto, then do more detailed research about the coins you want to invest. my advice prioritize bitcoin investment at least secure your money. and some of the top altcoins that have been listed in the top 10 CMCs. and remember that the ups and downs of coin prices are normal, you need to pay attention to the market situation and monitor your investment all the time.

The only two surest way to make income from crypto nowadays is
1. Binance IEO launchpad
Invest in any binance IEO projects and make 4x-8x from the project once trading starts, it always works
2. Bitcoin

Even if those projects like adding IEO in Binance launchpad then many investors like to happy without research. But yes our goal always follow real project so we can't take invest a project without more research their roadmap.

That most altcoins are short term does not mean you should not do your research. Inasmuch as you have interest in altcoins and you want to invest in them, it will be necessary for you to do research, because that will help you to know when to buy and when to sell. Not only that, but there are also altcoins that are being peddled by scammers, so, your research will help to keep you safe from them to an extent... ... and if you must invest in a new one, constant follow up, that is, regular update through research will be necessary until you decide not to buy, sell, trade or invest in it again. |
