Can confirm what the fellow members posted here.
Looks like my merit counter is f*** up again for a few days now.

Already tried to set my actual merit count but with it keep getting outdated after receiving new merits, so you might have a look at it again.
Or I am too stupid for this.. would love to get an update about that from you. Thanks in advance!

Haha yeah already thought that this problem was triggered by that action but since then I cant update it to my current count. After receiving new merits its back on an outdated count.
Maybe the delay could fix the problem. Thanks for reaching out so fast, will test to set the current merit count again in a few minutes.

TryNinja, you should do a poll about the most used/desired features. I think that would be interesting. Personally, I like/value following topics a lot more etc.

I'm not that obsessed with the actual count but since the feature is implemented I'm just reporting the issues I got.
And as  the way it looks right now the issue has already been fixed by TryNinja - I set my merit count manually again and it seems that it will work right now when u receive merits within a few seconds.

But a poll for new features is a great suggestion!

New feature:

- Whitelist users on your tracked topics: you can now (optionally) whitlist which user should trigger notifications when posting on your tracked topic.

Example: You add this topic in your tracked topics list. Rather than getting a notification for every single post, you can add my name and only get notified about my posts.

Why? Imagine if you were following ChipMixer's signature thread when DarkStar suddenly opens 1-4 slots. Right now, you would have received "only" 107 notifications of people trolling posting their applications. And that already happened with another user following his campaign's thread.

It's ok. I think most aren't really that obsessed and they would do fine without seeing their merit count on every notification. But if I'm putting something on the bot, I want to make sure it's working fine, so I don't mind if people demand a fix for those issues.

To make sure nobody makes the same mistake as I did and has to set up the bot from scratch like me, here is a short tutorial how it works if you already use the bot for merit tracking/mentions:



As soon as you click on "Tracked Topics" you have to click on "Add New" and enter the URL of the topic you want to track:



Next, click on the topic for which you want to white list a user ...



... and click on "Whitelist Authors":



After another click on "Add new" you can enter the name of the user you want to track:



Thats it!

I updated it yesterday in the german part of the forum and i had the same "problems" that Lakai01 describes here. The new feature was a bit hidden but with the instructions now everyone should be able to fix it.

Not that it matters that much. I would like to suggest a small correction to some minor mistake. I will use Lakai01's screenshot. On the page of adding a user you want whose posts you want to track in the topic. There is a slight English error. Instead of "if you add an user to your tracked topic" It should be "if you add a user to your tracked topic" 



Otherwise, thanks so much for the bot. It has helped improve on my constructive discussion as I am able to follow up the replies

since I used this bot, I've already got 2 notifications from posts without a mention or quoting my post.
it's was not an edited post too.

is it because the poster clicked the quote button from my post but then decide to delete my post before its first published?

The bot seemed to have missed one (1) merit on my profile at 22:35; but mentions are still working fine (not sure about merits because I haven't gotten anymore yet).

The bot was closing the job connection before actually finishing it, so no notification was being sent.

You receive the merits as you deserve them for catching the issue and I test the solution at the same time. Win-win!

That's just how it works. The bot only increases the count when the notification is sent.

I just made the bot issue notifications for the ones missed in the last 30 minutes, so you should receive the ones I sent you. The one which is still missing (from iconpress) is too old, so the bot just skips it. Just run /setMerit 513 and you are good again.

just to signal that the total count of my merits has been off since a few days. I miss 4 merits. I am already slowing a lot in merit collection, I don't want to miss the few I receive!

I was supposed to have a non-stop vibration, while dead silence here...

I had the same behavior myself.
But there is already the right solution:

/setMerit X - corrects your cached merit count.

X = correct number

If you do this once and correct the value it will most likely work correctly again in the future
