Hey TryNinja your telegram bot is doing great and very useful indeed. I have one small question (not sure if it’s only with me)?

Why bot is not sending Mention/quote notification for the topics I’m tracking?

For example I’m tracking WO topic but whenever I’m quoted or mentioned in this topic I don’t get any notification for that. Same goes to other topics too, I will get a notification for new reply but not for the mention. Is this a bug?

It will be awesome if we can get a mention notification for the topics we are tracking.

That's so you don't get notified twice (new reply on tracked topic + mentioned on a post).

Maybe I could change their order so you receive the "mentioned" notification instead of the "new reply" when both are triggered for the same post.

The message on the bot contained "Sorry but I call it bullsh*t . . . . " but the message here in-forum did not contain nor has been identified as an edited post.

I would bet that he edited the post after the bot scraped it (twice) but right before the grace period ended for the silent edit, which is why there is no indication of an edit.

Yes yes please that will be great… since mentions can be missed and overlooked specially in very active threads like WO.

The topic that the bot notified me of being nuked is indexed 5351080, while the topic that still exists, 5351078;

Moving the topic didn't trigger the notification: When you moved the topic, you didn't untick "Post a redirection topic.". That created topic 5351080 on the old board, with empty OP 57543797.
Then, a Mod removed it:

That's why the title of the deleted topic in your screenshot starts with "MOVED".

One question/suggestion like we track topics is it possible to track postings of a specific user?

I love to follow some users and see what they are posting and where? It helps me to track interesting postings.

You can actually follow someone's post or user profile by using @LoyceV's: Follow users on Bitcointalk.org (posts and/or topics).

LoyceV will give you a link after you have posted the ID of the forum user that you wanted to follow.

Well i have see this long before... but actually I'm talking about this telegram bot.

This bot is very coinvent gives you summary right in your mobile and if you want to read full details a simple link is there.

First of all, thank you for this amazing bot. I discovered it recently and seems very beneficial.
I don't know coding and to be fair, I have no idea how the icons, etc are set on this bot but I think there is one thing that needs to be fixed if possible.

When I click on the Notifications, then I see this:


At the moment, all of the notifications are enabled but if we consider that UX, it's hard for me to understand at the moment whether it's enabled or not without actually knowing of it.
1. From this picture, I think that notifications are disabled and that's the reason why I see X icon.
2. Actually, notifications are enabled and Disable (X) buttons will be activated once I click on them.

I think it would be better to make like this: Positive button with the text "Enabled" instead of "Enable" and X icon with the word "Disabled" instead of "Disable". This way, when I see X icon and the word disabled, I'll understand that it's Disabled and I have to click on it in order to Enable.

Wow amazing trust me I was about to request for source code after your previous reply but didn’t thought it’s your person project. Not sure if I can do something but will give it try after looking at your current code first

Of course individual code is never clean I know it myself if it works that’s all. Don’t touch it don’t clean it ever, is rule#1 of individual coding.

Yes coding in a team is totally different that’s what we have in bitcoin a team work .

I hope brining it to gitbub will improve it unless theymos decides to bring a new versions of Bitcointalk. I will give a try to see if follow a users can be done easily without jeopardizing the current working functionality.

I would like to track and be notified whenever someone posts specific word (account, address, etc.), for example, I give command to bot or website to track phrase ''qwert1234'' and whenever someone writes this in forum I would get optional notification.

Amazing work, and it's easy to enable or disable it!
I guess it works similar like when someone is mentioning username or telegram account, so it should work with and without @ symbol?

What length phrase can be used in the bot? How many words can be in a phrase maximal?

Yes.

Technically, the Postgres varchar max length which is 65535 bytes. But I may add a limit in the future, if needed for any reason.

If you tried to add a big text and it errored, try again. I just fixed a bug that was limiting the max length.
