Hi TryNinja I've been using your bot for a few months and it's truly spectacular.  I hadn't noticed that it can be used within groups and therefore I did a test but since the telegram group is in topic mode, when the bot is added I can't set the topic in which it has to send messages.  Not sure if this has already been reported.  Some bots are able to send messages in a single topic by calling it with a command in the topic itself, if that helps.  Either way you did a great job.

I need a group with 200 members to create a group with topics, so I have no idea how to test and develop this. Also, /r/Telegram is private since people are boycotting reddit the last few days, where I would normally find the solution.

I'll see what I can do.

I think it would also be helpful to use the group in telegram as a way to give suggestions for the bot when someone want you to add it on the bot and of course, it's not obligatory for the members to give suggestions to you. Let's just say that the group can also be use to tell you what they want to be added in the bot. As long as I can remember, there's not a lot of features with the bot until you have added more and I do see some forum members asking if it can be used in a telegram group and more. Just saying though.

There is a little error there that I want to report you:
Some hours ago, I received 2 merits from two person, each from one.
Here is the image:

At the moment you can see that my merit count is 418.

And here is the notification that sent me the last two merit notification twice and summarized them and counted that I have 420 merit.


I don't know why that happened and idk what problem this bot has with me because in the past I wasn't getting notifications if you remember

i have also received and perceived these messages this night, as you can see, these 3 merits were already awarded to me a few hours ago (where i also received a notification at the same time)

Not trying to whine, but I'll be the fourth to report this current issue, so I think it's safe to say the problem is widespread. If it helps, suppose someone wanted to rebalance their merit count manually like Ratimov did, but didn't know how, the command is,

/setMerit X - corrects your cached merit count.
[...]

with "X" is the value you want the bot to show.

with the command /setMerit X (the 'X' stands of course for the number of merits achieved) you can bring your merit account back to the correct status and have it displayed again

The total merits I have in the notification bot is different from the total merits from the forum. I wanted to create a thread on the issue before I see this thread. I received a merit yesterday and I was notified in the bot that I have 1114, but it is totally different from the forum number which is 113.

Yeah, it's pretty widespread. Maybe TryNinja is tweaking something, adding another neat feature or the likes [one may hope, LOL]. Just use the counter reset command for now. Type /setMerit on the bot chatbox, followed by your actual merit count. Yours will be 152, so...

There was no delay. It was a double notification and we got the same notification twice. I got four merit a from DdmrDdmr at 10 PM my local time and then I got the same notification again after eight hours and merit counts also increased on the Bot. I've checked my BitcoinTalk account and it seems there we no new merit history. That means whoever received some merits between 4:00 PM UTC to 12:00 AM UTC (Or maybe one or two hours more) on July 30 encountered this issue. Now if you can figure out what was the problem, it will be great. Or does everyone have to adjust their merit count?

I already adjusted my merit count but many of us maybe did not notice the difference. Now if you sub struck the merits that were credited twice from every user, what will happen to users who already adjusted their merits?

Another solution could be to run a script and cross check telegram bot merit count and BitcoinTalk merit count and adjust if there is any mismatch.

I usually don't mind the discrepancy because bot usually shows less than I actually have and for whatever reason few days ago it started show more than I have (which is kinda annoying), to be more precise it shows 5040 while I have actually 5033.

Just type the command /setmerit (amount of merits you have) and then send. The merit will now adjust to the number you have set.

Cloudflare on the forum is blocking scrapers, mine can't do anything either
Once in a while Cloudflare goes into impossible-mode. To test: visit the forum in a private browser window, if you see Cloudflare, scrapers won't work.

Yes. It's still showing Cloudflare for me. The forum has been slow for me since yesterday. BTW, I tried to change my password a couple of times today, but it ended up with "A Timeout Occurred" error. I tried a couple of times, and the result was zero. I don't know if it's only me or if everyone has the same problem. If anyone wants to change their password may try if it works for them.

Not sure if it's DDoS, but yes, it's slow for me. I thought it was my ISP. I am missing the bot a lot already!
