Thanks, Tryninja. I faced double merit issue months ago but now using Setmerit command its corrected. Your telegram bot is extremely fast. I use it for tracking many boards which help me to learn many things because I make research related information on each new topic..

If you're open to receiving suggestions, here are some ideas:

▪️ It will be helpful if the telegram bot could accept both profile links and UID when requesting a Bitcointalk UID. Currently, the bot only work with profile UIDs. when a profile link is added by mistake, it displays data for a null user(error).
▪️ Kindly add option for remove account/reset account option to completely reset our data.
▪️If possible add track of other users merit send/recieve

Starting from NOW, the duplicated merit notifications issue should be fixed. If anyone still get a duplicated notification from now on, let me know!

You solved one problem with double notification, but it seems that another one appeared. I received a mention notification twice for the same post within 7 minutes of each other. Does anyone have issues with "/setmerit"? For some reason it doesn't want to update it to the specified (correct) number, as seen in the screenshot below. Or am I maybe doing something wrong? Then again, I've used it before and never had issues with it whatsover so I guess its something related to TG bot and not my incompetence.

Can you try this, I think 'm' should be Capital.

Nope, it doesn't have anything to do with capital letters as I've used the exactly the same command many times before and never had any issues with it and if you go through the thread you will see that others used the same command.

Still having this issue? I just tried the command on my end and it worked. I did receve some alerts about the scraper and another project of mine being down for a bit, so maybe my server just lagged a bit?

Hello Tryninja, Your bot was working fine after your this message but today once again I received double notification for merit. I don't know Is I am the the only one who faced this issue because no other one reported here yet.





The time interval between these two notification is 15 hours and i was very happy when I saw this notification but when I checked no Merit was added to my account   . You can check my current Merit(502)

i also got several merit notifications tonight that i actually already got during saturday. with /setmerit i fixed my merit counter to the correct number again

Thanks, just pushed another fix which should (hopefully) fix this.

For the curious devs, there was a small chance the bot would scrape the merits page at 23:59 of one day and use the date from the next day at 00:00, resulting in a duplicated entry (one yesterday, one today).

PSA: A backlog of merit notifications from yesterday that got stuck just went through (a.k.a a bunch of delayed merits).

They have 5 minutes to include your name, otherwise there is no notification.

I got many double notifications this week. At first I thought that user posted and then quickly edited post and that's why I got two notifications but then I got so many double notifications that definitely there is something wrong there. This doesn't happen with merit though.

This is an example of a double notification I received from the Bot, although I double checked that Royse777 didn't mention me twice but the notification came in with the same message.

Private messages are called private because it is not what can be available publicly. So to inform you about your private messages the bot should get your password from your account. Maybe it's okay for you, but I doubt that it is okay for the bot developer. Sharing public information is okay, but taking the responsibility for your private data is something beyond reasonable expectations.

PMs are private information. TryNinja's bot can only scrape publicly available data, for it to get access to PMs it needs log in access to the different profiles which is an addition I do not think he wants to make or the users will be keen to use.

That's what Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email is for.
I meant this one:

I hope under your personal message options you have set this : Notify by email every time you receive a personal message: Always.

If you really hate your privacy, you can of course use any third party bot to forward your emails to Telegram, but I wouldn't recommend it.
