Based on my previous experienced, the holding of tokens shouldn't if the project listed their tokens on an exchange. Some of my tokens are worthless because of my long-term holding of tokens in my wallet as a result of hoping for a bigger price in the future. Those your tokens are worthless because they are or were shitcoins, and they get pumped and end up dumped, so I think OP should specifically note that it's the shitcoins that should not be held for the long term, if you're lucky to be aware when they get pumped, you should sell them then, they would not pump or go to the moon as the project wants you to believe.

When you are holding a real project then you will not be having any problem but if you hold only speculative projects then you must rush toward encashing or converting back to eth or btc will be good. I had lots of bitter experiences by opting some tokens for longer duration and then they got delisted from exchanges. I still hold IPSX and HBZ tokens but most exchanges have already delisted them, in that hellbiz was based on taxi business like uber but they are also not sustaining.

I guess it would be much better not relying on any project and closing the tokens as early as possible will much better option for anyone. I guess this is the reason why most bounty hunters are immediately selling all their rewards. When a project is good, immoderately selling will not impact them in long run.
