How this pool works
Welcome to Italian Serie A Prediction pool discussion thread. My intention is to run a pool on Superbru for the next season. This will be organized very similar as current Premier League Pool and Champions League pool. If you took part in any of them no need to read further, you already know most stuff.

For prediction we will use Superbru page and we will have complementary discussion topic here on the forum for participants only. Superbru has been around for years and they are very good at providing custom pools for all kinds of sports. The idea of the game is to predict correct scores from all the games which gives you max points (3). If you get outcome correct but not the score there is still some points awarded (1-1.5). The winner is the person with most points at the end of the season.


Buy in
This is a paid pool and buy in is set to 1.5m BTC, just about 45$ at this moment. This seems like a very fair price for whole year of prediction fun + nice prizes boosted by our sponsor. All the collected money will be used for prizes.

Old Rewards:
I expect new ones to be similar but they will get broadcasted after I know the exact number of participants.

Season 2023-20224 rewards structure:
1. Place - 60 mBTC (fees are paid from this prize)
2. Place - 35 mBTC
3. Place - 20 mBTC
4. Place - 13 mBTC
5. Place - 8 mBTC
Highest overall yellow cap - 8 mBTC

That comes to total of 144 mBTC, 0.5 is reserved for fees and anything reaming will be added to first place reward or taken from it in case it isn't enough.


Remarks:
*There is no sharing of the prizes, Superbru has implemented tie breakers and I will use their final table as basis to pay out rewards

Hopefully BTC will be worth much more by the time we end the pool and prizes will be so much better

I'm always interested in joining various prediction pools, but I'm not sure whether I will join this or no. I don't follow Serie A that much as La Liga or EPL, so it would be a bit difficult for me to predict, especially when we talk about smaller clubs. So, I don't really know now.

You got it wrong. Best round results is intended as a reward for highest points in single round when all rounds are over. Let's say you are doing bad in the pool and have no chance for the prize. You can still have one hell of a last round and make 25 points in last round and snatch the reward for best round 60$ as per your example. That gives incentive to all participants to keep playing until the end, no matter the results.

I am not following Serie A as well but I have no problem playing 20$ to have some extra fun. I know I will do badly but that doesn't bother me since I bet on higher amounts every day. This way I can use the pool as a sort of extra check if my bets are realistic. I just lock my picks and check out what the best participants have for particular game.

PL is usually first choice than CL and then it could end up too expensive for most members to continue joining La Liga, Serie A or whatever else. yeah, it will be hard to have more than ten people for some leagues, i would join La liga as well, do not know about PL, but Champions league would like to join as well, Bundesliga for sure

Exactly the same with me. I'd be terrible with predictions as I don't really follow the league at all and will only watch a handful of big or vital games, but I'm glad people are starting their own pools for various leagues and I encourage users to start their own for their domestic leagues.

You'd probably get more interest for La Liga to be honest, though again I don't really follow it that much apart from the big games. It's arguably the second biggest league to the PL though, but that doesn't necessarily translate to users wanting to join a pool here. Maybe make a post in the local boards trying to drum up interest. I'm sure there'd be a lot more users interested from the specific local boards/

I would love to do something for La Liga as well but I would prefer to have a few words with some sports crazy member from Spanish section first to get his opinion and help with spreading the word. Anybody knows such member? If so please point him to this post or something. I also believe La Liga would probably generate more interest.

Thanks for adding those two , I will most likely join the Premier league one as it is much more interesting and I have much more in depth knowledge about Premier league. Yeah, leave me with a question mark for now with this one.

Yes you are, it was a test one, for the current season, but even if it was for free, without any prize pool, it's still a competition

Well yeah, $20 for whole season is nothing, considering how much money we gamble on daily basis. So, I may join too.
La Liga pool would be great. If we will find enough participants for Serie A pool, I'm sure that there will be interest in La Liga, especially considering big number of Barca and Real fans here. Though, not everyone is ready to put their own money .
Not sure about Europa league. Group stage isn't very interesting with many not well known teams. It's only getting interesting in playoff stages. In football threads I see lot of people from Croatia, so probably even your league may get some interest. I also started to follow your league a bit, mainly because of Gorica team .

I will do a thread like this one for La liga in few days as well and then stop there. I am counting on hilarius to run premier league and champions leagues pools next season as well. So if somebody wants to be in all of them that is 100$. That could already be a bit much for most of the people since all leagues start in about same time.

Our league was really and still is interesting , with 4 teams fighting for Europan spot between 2-4 place. How come you decided to follow Gorica? It is quite an interesting choice    I'm rooting for Osijek to win 2nd place, they play the best football after the restart.

Reason why I started to follow Gorica is simple. This team is managed by manager from my country. Also, our best young player is playing for Gorica, unfortunately he got painful injury and haven't played much yet. In general, ouf football level is so shitty and we rarely can see our managers working in foreign teams. So, it's interesting to follow his work in Gorica. After pandemy they played solid, but were too far away from spots in Europa league qualifiers. But I think next season it's possible to achieve.

There is no minimum required by the superbru system, but as we are trying to run a prize pool, the minimum should be at least 10 to be ok, 15 to be cool and more than that to be great
