I'm sure there'll be one, @hilariousandco organised the last couple (or has it been 3 seasons already?). It'll just be down to sponsorship but I reckon there might be an auction for that. As usual, happy to throw in my (small) hat to kick things off;)

There's still plenty of time for that since the Group Stages only kick off on September 14, a month odd from now.

agree, there is time, but last year there was no particular interest in the end, and it was non-paying pool (planned to be with fees, but interest was really low)
in the end, it was only to winner get sponsorship money

back to topic, joined Serie A pool, for the gambling community, not following the league that much, but Cagliari managed to stay in the league within last few rounds, and I have to support them throughout the season, to stay another season in top competition

That goes mainly for Premier League, I am still hoping/expecting same number of players in this pool like last year.

favorite team - Cagliari

regarding number of participants, Serie A and La liga will probably have the same, or a bit better numbers, since there are all regulars here
in Premier league, fee could an issue for some participants, but in the end, fee is almost double in all pools (looking in USD), but lower in BTC amounts (still, it is not much considering it is a whole season fun, even if you drop down in total table, there is always a yellow cap winner in rounds)

That's really good news and thank you, I've also already accepted the invites and I see myself in both pools. To those who haven't joined, you can even make your Superbru predictions and when you join a pool the predictions are already there (in case you cannot join immediately) so do that first!

Haha yeah, I remember very well, although I actually mistakenly thought all fees were paid, and was happy to pay out the winner (Harkorede) since the thread wasn't inactive anyway and we all actually put our picks in!

Strange occurrence for me too. It could be interesting to ask players who dropped out why they're not playing and see what can be done to fix it. I know this has been mentioned/discussed a few times, but i can assure you that the entry fee has priced out quite a few people, or has made them reconsider joining, the way it's going we could be paying up to £100 next season lol:

2018 - £25
2019 - £25
2020 - £40
2021 - £60

Actually, if you want to join the EPL pool today, you have to spend £67 in BTC, it could be £70 in a week from now. I'm not sure how many people care about yellow caps, free bets, and bigger pots, they're simply casuals looking to have some fun.

I've locked in just over $400 (lol i better win something) for all of my fantasy pools and leagues that i intend to play in this year (both here and outside the forum), and while i can afford it, i'm not really psyched about it. My point is that if pools continue to raise their entry fees, we shouldn't be surprised to see a drop of those willing to join, 35-40 is still a good number though.

Already did. He does not have time for the pools this season. He is my buddy from Croatian local so we speak on telegram here and there.

Those are numbers for PL and I agree they are a bit on expensive side for casuals. These 2 pools have a buy in of 1 mBTC, half of which you get back as free bet. When I started the pools buy in was under 40$, now it is a bit more but still well worth it in my opinion.

Well for me it would be an unlikely one since they are near the bottom of the table.
Unione Sportiva Sassuolo Calcio or better known as just Sassuolo - the green and black.

Season doesn't begin til August 21st for this league while the spaniards begin tomorrow then english prem the next day to kick it all off.
The price isn't bad at all since the prizes pretty much pays for fee if you get the yellow cap atleast once.
This is going to be hectic being in all three pools but quite exciting at the same time.

You are forgetting Champions League which will start in about month. Then we will be back to 4 pools at the same time, just like last year and how I like it
Then I am also playing PL Fantasy with some local guys so season beginnings come very expensive for me.

Anyway, I don't really agree about pricing out, since most of the participants are on signature campaigns but it is one consideration so fair point, and I know I had to convince a couple of guys here as they actually would BUY btc or wait for campaign payments to come in to pay the fee (hence the grace period).

Perhaps we should consider capping the fee in fiat at some point, or find a way people could participate on a lower tier fee, perhaps in return for a "stake". It does complicate things though and I haven't actually seen someone comment saying they would participate if the fee were lower. On the other hand, in the EPL thread, many more people have expressed they're fine with the fee, and some have actually asked for higher, or double and triple fees haha.

I believe it's simply a lack of interest in a season-long competition. I'd love to see ex-participants speak up about the fee being higher though if that's really the case.

Also, you get a freebet HALF the entry fee on Serie A and La Liga, so we've actually cheapened the fee to less than £20 on these 2 pools =)

I spoke with most if not all of the previous participants, the reasons for skipping this season are as follows:
1. Lack of time, work is crazy
2. Lack of familiarity with the league and being cannon fodder

Not one of them mentioned anything about the fees but they are much more of a factor for PL.

this was a factor for me in Serie A, but decided to join in the end because it is mostly last-year community here
it is also four pools during season, with PL fantasy and Sorare teams (due to market prices, my players are mostly from Jupiler and MLS leagues) being made on Monday and Thursday, it is a bit of work every week

nevertheless, it is not something that I will not follow at all, if not playing pools, it is just some extra fun when watching matches

Changed my picks? Did not even made them yet. Waiting for a couple more days before taking a crack at guessing Serie A scores. Could be a couple more big transfers like Vlahovic to Spurs.

I always put picks in and then change it when it is close to the game time. This way in case I cannot get online then I have a pick saved. Last season in EPL pool I had a lot of issues with Superbru loading during game days and you could not enter picks for upcoming matches.

By the way,,, I am last in La Liga pool. I hope I do better in this one. This is why I should not play leagues I do not know about:)
