Sort of a reflection of how closely I'm not following Serie A, when I saw scores and I though "oh no, why did I pick Udinese?" only to check on Superbru that I had, in fact, picked Lecce.

Great start to the week with a close score, but our resident league topper Saint-loup was the only one to guess an exact score. I'm only in 13th so it seems possible to fight for a place but it's a small pool so the gap deceives.

England and Spain aren't serving up much tomorrow but Roma Milan should be a cracker!

I've locked a small bet on Napoli, i think they win the Scudetto in style (even though they only need a point) with a couple of goals. They should have done it over the weekend, but Ochoa had other plans, dude made some excellent saves. Napoli has a good record in Udine, with five wins in their last six visits. The last defeat dates back to the 15/16 season when Bruno Fernandes was still playing in Serie A. Plus, Udinese is in their annual don't give a fuck mode, too good to be in the relegation mix, and too inconsistent to attack Europe, so they coast the final few months of the season.


Hot damn...i just realized our pool has 4 players ranked inside the top 100 (global rankings).  Not sure that's happened before, at least not in the previous two editions. Big Props!

Napoli has dropped the form in worse part of the season, good thing thing they have such big cushion to fall to  Will be great party in Southern parts of Italy.

All our pools on Bitcointalk are ultra competitive, I am usually doing very good on those other soft pools and world rankings and can't get over middle table positions in our pools.

Missed your bet, morvillz7z but I think the party will last long anyway, and that's still something big however you see it. Liverpool also waited 30 years, unfortunate it was Covid to keep everyone home but I think Naples parties long and hard. Well deserved.

Does seem like we can't spam them for bets anymore though.

Also, I don't think we see the same team march out next season, shame, but I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, I thought betting against them was a good strategy but lately I think since their semifinal berths were secured, they found a way to win again, made the right picks but both far off from the results (3-2 was my prediction for both but went far away).

Atalanta-Juve a bit disappointing for me. Home team showered Old Lady with 16 attempts but couldn't score, and fell victim to Juve's traditional winning scoreline and even gifted them a last one from a counter. Any other outcome would have made my day but still plenty to watch.

Sampdoria will be the first team to be relegated, and it is likely that to happen tomorrow if they do not pick up 3 points.  The club's terrible financial state this year set the way for the unavoidable. The irony is that relegation to Serie B is arguably the best outcome their fans could hope for because the club also risks administrative relegation if they don't pay player salaries, taxes, registration fees, etc.  I believe they have a month or so to clear those things up, else it's Serie D.

...and while Samp's uncertain future hangs in the air, their city rivals just won Serie A promotion earlier this week:

Lazio saving a point in 94th minute, in a game with 10 yellow cards, seems like I missed quite a spectacle. And of course this was the one game where I decided to go for Lazio ML instead of my usual both to score. Was thinking Lazio as one of the best defenses should keep a clean sheet today. Don't forget to make picks guys I see a lot of you without picks for tomorrow.

Man, I gotta stick to my guns and keep backing the top 4 NOT to win, really. Everyone seems too comfortable now in their places, even with things to fight for, both Milans probably just going to keep their backs to the wall in UCL, while Napoli is already in honeymoon mode, Monza took advantage.

3 more game rounds to go, theoretically I should still have a chance at Top 10 but it's looking farther away each round... especially if I keep backing the Top 4/5s.

Yeah, I'm def looking at Serie A again these last few games. Problem is the bookies are getting wise. Next Match Day I only see 1 10+ odds... and that's Sampdoria vs Milan heh heh. But hey, Milan's been throwing games away left and right. Lost to Spezia, before that, drew with Cremonese, who're just above Sampdoria by almost nothing.

If I had reviewed my picks last weekend, I'm sure I would have altered the 2-0 I had in favour of Monza over of Napoli to Napoli 2-1 win or something, because It still feels like a mistake I made to me, as for tonight match against Sassuolo it was pretty much intentional for me, and I watched every single minute of the game, Sassuolo looked like the better team until they scored their first goal, but after that Monza were slightly better when attacking and they got their deserved equalizer, not to long after was when Sassuolo were down to 10 men and I felt perhaps, Monza could get me another exact score for second consecutive weekly, and they sure did.

The Federal Court of Appeal will have its hearing on the Juventus capital gains scandal on Monday and increasing reports suggest the Serie A points penalty will be 12, a reduction from 15.

If this is confirmed early next week, the Bianconeri will miss out on the Champions League. Milan will only need three points to take fourth place, that's of course, if Roma fails to win all three of their remaining matches (they have a tough visit in Florence) just days before their Europa League final against Sevilla.

I don't know what could be more demoralizing than waking up to prepare for a Monday night fixture only to discover all the efforts been putting over the past few weeks wouldn't make any difference after all.

Truth be told, if they were supposedly going uphold the point deduction, the least they could is let count from next season, you don't give someone hope for a couple of weeks just take it back in the penultimate week before the season ends.

My mistake for the week ends up being what gave the yellow cap of the week, I mean Monza upset vs Napoli, but then is anyone paying attention to Saint-loup ransacking almost every single pool this season, extraordinary stuff!

No matter what they did, you can't play with penalty like this. Changing the points and granting it, then overruling it then again giving the penalty.....It makes a whole league look bad and impacts other clubs as well. I don't like Mou but I must agree with him on this point.

Exactly my point, point deductions aren't the kind of penalties that the Calcio FA whatever the hell they're called should be going back and forth with, if this stiff penalties are to be handed to a team, they best be sure it's going to be final and irreversible, not via any form of appeal or trial nor even the CAS, what the hell have happened to other disciplinary actions like Transfer ban or fines, huh ??

Yeah am with Mou on this, not sure why the other managers haven't spoken up (I suspect also worried it'll bite them back at some point) but Calcio keeps finding ways to make themselves look like the most incompetent organisers of league football.
