last round was what expected it to be, with Milan and Roma both winning their matches, and sent Spezia and Verona to play-off

Cagliari managed to have a goalless draw against Parma, and reached final with Bari, for a spot in Serie A, will be interesting to see who will get on top, and secure that spot
onwards to Cagliari being back in Serie A

Yeah, Serie A fires up my ass. The only pool out of 4 in which I participated and did not get into the prizes. And I'm not nervous because of the prizes - I remember very well how in the previous season Serie A also infuriated me with its randomness. Probably the only league where it almost never happens that the leader group wins in sync - there will always be a couple of teams (and sometimes 5-6 lol) that will lose points and ruin your multibet.

Congratulations to everyone who was able to get into the prizes despite the fact that this is a very difficult league to predict! And thanks to all the organizers!

Just to echo @icopress's statement.

I've received the prize and it's worth the while for me, due to the nature of the competition and Saint-loup dominant personality in almost pools, being able edge him to the first position in the final moment was the highlight for me.


It's as though Saint-loup took the every pool as a fulltime job this season, he took it very personally this season

That is a strange rule for me. They are playing playoffs over two legs but if there is no winner then Bari goes up automatically. Extra time and penalties would be expected but it is what it is. Serie A has more problems then this so who cares  Thinking about Juve and their penalty points mostly.

yeah, it is strange, but I can find it to be good, if you had been better throughout season, then you have to have some advantage in play-off as well
since there is no third match on home pitch (as in basketball for example), you got draw as your win, maybe it is fair (although I don't like due to Cagliari being forced to win this duel)

nevertheless, match ended 1:1, two VAR decided penalties for Bari, second in 90+4 minute, and Bari needs a draw at home to be in Serie A next season
maybe Ranieri can pull some better tactics for re-match, Bari was better in second half and never-mind penalties, deserved to get a draw

Don't agree with this, if you have play offs then there shouldn't be a big advantage for one team. If you want to value success during season simply don't have play offs and give the spot to Bari automatically.

Cagliari also disagrees, but accepted it and scored in overtime to secure a win in Bari, and they are back to Serie A next season

Ranieri made great tactics and Cagliari was much better tonight, while Bari tried to save the draw

Verona will probably also stay, it is close to end, and they are leading against Spezia

good compensation for Auxerre going down, now I again have favorite team in Serie A

Knowing that a draw is all you need is a double-edged sword.

Cagliari was indeed the better team tonight, even if they didn't have that many scoring chances aside from a few crosses.

I'm not sure if Ranieri would have substituted in Pavoletti if it hadn't started pouring 5 minutes before the end. The boy he replaced was Cagliari's best/most dangerous player....Luvumbo.

In any case, a heartbreaker for Bari and their fans....about 60k at San Nicola, incredible atmosphere as you would expect.

agree, a heartbreaker for Bari and their fans, but seeing Ranieri crying after overtime scoring and securing Serie A was also a great feat
he joined when Cagliari was in a position to fight against relegation from Serie B, consolidated the team, reached play-off, and overturned two better positioned teams, so both times Cagliari needed a win in two duels

hopefully he will stay next season, and show some skills in Serie A as well

Season starts a week after EPL -- it feels like we have to wait longer and longer now for season starts (in my mind it's always July) so maybe it's just my hold on calendar start but apparently this is actually an early start for Italy. Which explains why the new schedule isn't out yet.

It can't be Napoli again, too soon to talk about Juve's relegation and Lazio wild card?

The schedule is set to be released next week, 5th July.

Indeed, mid-August start dates for Serie A are uncommon, partly due to the weather, since no one wants to play ball in temps of 30°C or more.

With the EURO next year, i suppose everyone will have to start a few weeks earlier.

had outright on Lazio last season, it was a longshot @51, but ended up being good choice, if there was not for superior Napoli

this season, Lazio odds are really low for my perspective, Napoli to defend title looks pretty much impossible, I would not put Inter or Milan, so left with Atalanta or Roma, longshots, but not without any chances

I'm in, although Serie A for me is just pain and almost zero positive emotions  Although the Napoli title in itself is already a huge gift for fans like me (I'm mostly for underdogs).
By the way, you can already start collecting entry fees - suddenly Bitcoin grows to 100k+ and then people will be more reluctant to part with their mbtc

Hey guys, good news, we will again be sponsored by Sportsbet this season. They will put up 100 mBTC for the main pot. There will also probably be usual free bets but I still have to iron out the details.

I will open signups soon but wanted to get a bit of feedback about buy in this season. It will be in a range 1-2 mBTC. I am leaning more towards 2 or at least 1.5 but wanted to check up with regulars. Don't want to price anybody out. Most of us here are playing all the pools and that adds up quite quickly.

Same deals and question go for Serie A so i would appreciate if somebody quotes this in that thread and bumps it up as well. Writing this while waiting on Montenegro/Croatia border

personally, I would not like 2 mBTC fee, not that I would skip pool this season, but something in between (1.5) would be better, especially since there are two pools, Calcio and La Liga
it would be nice to see participants at least match half of sponsorship pool, so that could be a guideline, but 2 seems as upping last season enter a lot in USD value

I've no preference and am fine with whatever fees the majority agrees on.

Matching half of the sponsorship pool would be challenging though, doubt we've ever done so...we'd need a significant influx of new players to join for that to happen.

In any case, i'm looking forward to the new season.
