Juve and Atalanta's wins today ended a mini-streak of rather unexpected results over the weekend. I don't mind the normalcy, neither my bets.

Watched a bit of Juventus and Como...I don't think Como will stay up. They were caught twice on counter-attacks, which is not a great feat for a newly promoted team playing on the road. They reminded me of Benevento under Pippo Inzaghi a few years back, that naive, open style of football that gets punished almost every time. I know it's only round 1, but that's the vibe i got from them...long season though, things can change.

I don't understand how a mediocre coach like D'Aversa (relegated with Parma last season)....

Despite the poor start to the season, i don't think they'll get relegated. They have a decent squad and most importantly, Giampaolo (he along with D'Aversa might be the worst coaches in Italian football) is no longer with the team.

Does anybody else base some of their predictions on bookmakers odds (some of the lesser known teams playing each other).

At the beginning I do, yeah. Later on mostly on home/away performances and recent form.
If early rounds get me near the top, I spend ~5 min selecting results. If I'm bad from the start, then probably less than a minute

I do yes, but odds are somewhat similar or close to what you'd expect anyway in the big leagues, if you take into account at least last season's form. Especially in Serie A anyway, Napoli, for example, shitty finish and still the slight favourite in MD1.

Can't afford to act like immature boys in the big leagues. I've always believed in game management as key to survival, doesn't matter if you're a rich squad or a newly-promoted one. Win the games you can by killing any possible comeback. Lose the games you will by as few goals as possible. The only time you're allowed to be naive is by betting like I do

I noticed something new when seeing the Leaderboard now and looked about it.

Seems now the yellow cap ranking is only updated on Leaderboard, to show the last round's top guy.

But if you check, round by round, the winners are still wearing their yellow caps

This is because in Rounds, there is no tiebreaker on points.

But on leaderboard, there is tiebreaker, using Superbru closeness system. More correct picks > more exacts > more close > more correct margins.

There is no reserve for fees so first place will sponsor our transaction. Fee will be set to confirm inside 5 blocks. Poor Serie A, nobody is excited about them but I have a big feeling they will do some upset in Champions League because all the attention is on EPL and La Liga.

Conte is weird man, he brings in Lukaku and now Napoli have their best player not doing anything. Media says its all his own fault but I bet there is a bigger story. SMH about this whole drama.

Well i really think the "catenacio" destroy the image of the italian football about the fun to watch, because the defensive style makes it very boring to see, now the "catenacio" its no longer with us but the league still have that trademark over them. And the games are really not so fun to see.

About Osimehn..... what i can say he or maybe his manager i dont know destroy his career in two years he went from heaven to the soil, aside of him scoring a ton of goals in Galatasaray he lose the chance of play for a really big club and i dont think he can comeback in a easy way from that.

If Napoli hadn't been so stingy with the compensation amount, Osimhen would have already left for Saudi Arabia. Maybe Osimhen will do well in Turkey and there will be someone willing to buy him with full compensation (130 million I think) but that is unlikely so Napoli will have a "blocking" voice to stop Osimhen. Maybe the move to Galatasaray is even good, in my opinion it is almost impossible to return to big football from Saudi Arabia.

Ah okay, yeah I guess they all thought about it before the move. I really don't know what to say about these kinds of situations. He was such a faithful guy, and they did bad things to him still it was okay but yes to end up like this is poor fashion, hope he does well for them anyway. English clubs would fall over for that kind of service, there was a better way to do it, many better ways, but also I guess there are worse ways. Ziyech should be very excited to provide for him, he was so shit in the qualifying for Europe, so maybe who knows, it works out.
