Unfortunately, I didn't trust the software, didn't install it, and didn't buy it back then. The regrets are real!
I regained interest and installed my first wallet shortly before I joined Bitcointalk on February 26, 2015."
2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?"I don't know exactly anymore, the oldest trade I can find back was a fraction of a Bitcoin in January 2016 (when the price was well below $500)."
3. How did you get on the forum?"Google, I guess."
4. You have a lot of analytics services on the forum, is it a hobby or a job?"I'm not willing to share my profession, so let's keep it at a hobby. Or a job. Or both."
5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns? Do they harm the forum?"Merit made account farming useless, and has reduced spam. Signature campaigns can be good to increase interest in crypto, but only if the campaign manager does his job. In most cases paying a decent amount of Bitcoin means the company has an interest in hiring a decent manager. Most of the signature spam was created when some random n00b paid bounty spammers in made-up Tokens to post as much as they can, using as many accounts as possible to hype their scam ICO and make themselves rich. I think this got a bit better since ICOs lost their hype, and further improved after the Merit system was introduced.
I like to think I improved my posting when I joined
my first signature campaign. Knowing that a (qualified) campaign manager is watching my every move made me more conscious."
6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?"I think both vary over time. Just like top cryptocurrencies, useful topics and active users disappear and new ones emerge ever few years.
I know
my useful data, but there's no discussion going on there. I've seen some really interesting topics in
Development & Technical Discussion, but those barely get the attention they deserve. I can't pick one most useful topic, and I don't really want to search to make a long list.
As for users: I've seen many helpful users, but again I don't really want to make a list. It's even better if said helpful user is also loaded with technical knowledge and can actually provide correct information. I've seen a few, but don't interact much with them. And that's the beauty of being a helpful user on a technical level: no drama, no arguments, just knowledge! I appreciate them, and I'm pretty sure they know who they are."
7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?"I used to say I want my own Nuke button, but it's rare nowadays to report scams that require quick removal. I would like to see less drama though, be more Switzerland, care less about what some anonymous guy somewhere on the internet says about you.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?"Hey, you lied to me
You said there would be no more than 10 questions, and I've counted 10 already
Okay I'll continue: I don't actively trade, and I sure as hell don't trust 99.9% of the "projects" that are designed to make the creator rich. I use exchanges once in a while though, but not to actively speculate on the exchange rate."
9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?"I'm not a big gambler, nor a big trader, so there isn't much to tell here. A big loss would be not selling everything at the peak in December 2017, just like not buying when I first heard about Bitcoin. But that's in retrospect."
10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?"This is the first time I hear that name. A quick search shows that it has to do with centrally controlled code-is-not-law Ethereum, and since The DAO they've lost all credibility when they abandoned everything they said to stand for to protect their own financial interests. I'm still amazed people fell for that. Smart contracts can't work if the only person who understands the contract is called: "The Attacker". I simply gave up on following anything related to Ethereum, because the entire coin is build upon a flawed foundation."
11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?"Both. I think privacy is one of the most undervalued commodities. People trade their privacy for pennies or funny pictures. And once it's gone, you'll never get it back!"
12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?"I haven't read any book on cryptocurrency completely. I usually need something specific, and search until I find what I'm looking for. I wish I had the time to read more books though."
13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?"Although I don't do investment advice, I would bet on Bitcoin and against euro and dollar for the coming years."
14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?"I'll tell you in January
No really, I'm terrible at predictions. If I'd know, I'd be rich! I still have high hopes for the coming months (after the last block reward halving)."
