Im joining the discussion super late and im not gonna make a super gigantic quote of everyone but as far as i read in this last post i agree with you guys and we all know between us we all agree in all the points but that is also the main problem WE are the only ones who are always pushing and taking part of the contest and somehow carrying the "real" community a lot of the other thousands of users are only trying to milk something and they dont help at all to at least help this to keep going.

Just wanted to come here and say how cool it is to see Spain beat France so comprehensively. And for me personally even cooler to see 8 Barca players in that Spanish squad. And that is a reflection that Barca is still Spanish at heart. And as a result Spain is Barca at heart BTW 5 Argentina players are playing for Atletico. Spanish clubs totally dominating the semifinals!
Sorry for very late reply but yes, big issues and no clear solutions, but I like the diversity I am seeing in World Cup with many different pools and comps, lets see how it looks like for the new football season.

Love for Pau Cubarsi, winning World Cup, and being first defender in over 40 years to win the individual award, and well, damn it but Barca putting a 16 year old as CB in full season, now we have a veteran who's still 19. Sorry but I can't not be happy with this kind of news. Some deserved holiday, he's a good boy and we come back fresh now for the cup that we haven't seen in years

The best play of Cubarsi was in the final, that late clearance in the final moments after a cross from Simeone is a pure combination of skills and luck, when you look the rear and side camera and how close it goes between the post and Unai Simon.

I agree. By the way, I'm glad the narrative that "Yamal is the Spanish national team" has ended (at least for a while, as one might assume). At one point, such brazen PR became quite annoying and reminded me of another player, also from Barcelona I'm glad that now everyone is talking about the strength of the Spanish team as a whole, their team was truly the best in the tournament. It will be interesting to see if they can defend their title in 2028 and match or even surpass 2008-2012 achievement. At least several teams are ready to stop them!

For me it was hard to expect phenomenal performance from him - don't forget that he arrived after injury and had limited playing time on first games. But I kinda agree, I don't like when player is bigger than a team. For example Portugal IMO had chance to go further if not cult of personality. Glad that Cubarsi got that award - defenders and goalkeepers always aren't getting enough credit, they're getting individual awards very rarely.

Yes, I'm aware of Yamal's injuries, and they will continue, in part because, for PR reasons, he was brought into adult football without a lenient schedule. I'm not sure we're experiencing anything similar with Portugal - look, Portugal won the Nations League against Spain with the same Ronaldo in a close game. Now they lost in a close game, they weren't dominated like France and Argentina. It could have been two wins or two losses. I can't name a player who could replace Ronaldo and we'd say, "Yes, we had a better chance against Spain then."

I agree with you because Spain is a truly TEAM they play like no matter who is in the team nothing is gonna change so much and that defines a realy team worked for hours and hours of train and preparation. About Yamal i dont know you but i have starting to have my doubts about him right now..... I dont know if for real his new height is starting to give him problems or if his life style is starting to stop him from being much better. A year ago i was thinking about him like the new Messi but right now im having my doubts, he is a great player for sure but im starting to have my doubts if he is gonna be that good.

Nations League - yeah, they won it, but I don't think that we can call it as major trophy, it's more like Super Cups that we have before the season I liked this opinion about Ronaldo (it's in Russian, but IIRC you're from there, so, you will understand): https://t.me/TaturTV/6817I'm sure that Portugal will do great after Ronaldo retirement because they have enough individual talent. Before tournament I was very sceptical about Messi too, but he proved me wrong. But if 39 years old guy from farmers league is still your best player, your future isn't very bright. I'm looking at Argentina squad now and I don't see them reaching late stages of WC after 4 years as they don't have much young talent.

Maybe, but we'll never know, so let's stick to the facts. In fact, the older generation is leaving, but I see great prospects for many - France with Zidane, Spain (is it really a golden era again?), England is good (Tuchel is bad), maybe even Klopp will be able to squeeze water out of a stone with Germany. 2028 will be fire. About Yamal i dont know you but i have starting to have my doubts about him right now..... Yamal is doomed – pubalgia, Neymar's lifestyle, and his political stance (supporting Palestine) will quickly end his career, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens within a few years. And I don't even know which factor will play the main role, perhaps a third.

Sorry but I can't not be happy with this kind of news. Some deserved holiday, he's a good boy and we come back fresh now for the cup that we haven't seen in years Yes he is a superplayer right now and he is only 19 years old, i think he deserve the youth player award because Yamal was not at his best in this world cup and was gonna be a clown show if they give it to him. The best play of Cubarsi was in the final, that late clearance in the final moments after a cross from Simeone is a pure combination of skills and luck, when you look the rear and side camera and how close it goes between the post and Unai Simon. 100% here, no one can say Yamal is not talented but its very hard to say he performed to expectations, even though he was very important to the team, I think Pau was a big reason Spain's defence was almost impenetrable. He did this a full season for Barca and full stretch for Spain, and just such a good boy I like him even more than I did before. I agree with @KTChampions tho about Spain, I wouldn't call it a golden generation, I still think the older axis of Barca midfield was far superior (Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta). They were slower for sure, and don't get me wrong I'm in longterm love with Pedri, Gavi, Olmo and still they may yet progress to be even better, but I don't think they are feared as much as the old axis. The Champions League titles are the factual difference as well. I don't care what people say about Barca but to see a core spanish midfield at a spanish club born in the spanish academy and playing for spain, this is a feat in modern football. But next World Cup or even next Euro all will be more mature, and Germany who knows under Klopp, and who knows France? I think we could be seeing some really mature really improved teams!

We will hear in a few more months about the unfinished debate between Barcelona and Madrid and they (Barcelona fans) now have new ammunition to show off :3. With the current composition of course the chance of euro 2028 is very big for Spain let alone the majority of their players are quite young but of course this must see several considerations including the performance at the club and hopefully injuries do not destroy the careers of these young players. But for Euro 2028 there are some top coaches coming in and being in the ranks of the head coach for the national team. It has been confirmed now Zidane has control of the French national team, Klopp has also officially coached Germany and do not forget England with Tuchel who currently even set a new record for England because it managed to finish 3rd in the World Cup which had not previously been done by any coach for the last 60 years.

Here in Argentina im saying to all my relatives, the holidays are over, Germany is gonna be back for 2030 under Klopp i feel like they are gonna be a machine again and we all are gonna suffer it. About Italy which is another national team which is doing horrible right now i dont have that high hope unless they put a really good coach who can find players since i see in Italy a lack of raw material to be honest. Brazil.... i dont know, but well to 2030 is a long journey.

I'm not arguing with facts and I actually don't like what ''what if'' kind of discussions. Yeah, Portugal won Nations league, but is it really matters that much? Without Google I can't even name who won previous editions, when I can easily name all EURO and World Cup winners in 40 years. Not trying to persuade you to change opinion or tell that my opinion is right. And yeah, we never will know how they would have done without Ronaldo, but IMO, their future is bright even after his retirement. Yamal is doomed – pubalgia, Neymar's lifestyle, and his political stance (supporting Palestine) will quickly end his career, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens within a few years. And I don't even know which factor will play the main role, perhaps a third. Yeah, these things is very concerning. But just wondering how supporting Palestine can have main role in his early retirement?

The Nations League is a new tournament, but it's essentially the European Championship in a different format. Europe >> World, I don't know what else to add You don't think that Spain lost "on purpose" because it wasn't an important tournament. A title is a title, Portugal (with Ronaldo) was able to do what other teams could not. These are simple facts, without ifs. Yamal is doomed – pubalgia, Neymar's lifestyle, and his political stance (supporting Palestine) will quickly end his career, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens within a few years. But just wondering how supporting Palestine can have main role in his early retirement? I think you know the agenda the "elites" are pushing. Israel competes well in all international competitions, despite committing genocide worse than Russia. Clearly, those who draw attention to this uncomfortable issue won't have the PR support of those who stick their tongues up their asses. Yamal has clearly expressed his support for Palestine and it seems to me that he is now on the blacklist "for promotion".

Oh no, offcourse I'm not saying that Spain lost it on purppose or something. Portugal were better on that day. But it doesn't changes my opinion about Nations League which were made out of greediness of UEFA IMO, somethingsimilar like there was Confederations Cup one year before World Cup.
I think Yamal isn't exceptional there. There is lot of famous athletes who expressed support for Palestine. Offcourse that's uncomfortable question for FIFA and UEFA, but I doubt that they will stop using him for PR because of it. Pubalgia or Neymar's lifestyle may be much bigger problem for Yamal in the future.

Portugal were not the better team in that Nations League final. Spain was the better team. Spain dominated that game just like they dominated France. They just couldn't score their chances and allowed Portugal to always equalise. Spain had more possession in that game, created more chances, had more shots on target, more expected goals and any other stat metric you can think of. Spain just had a back line of Huijsen, Mengueza, Le Normand and Cucurella. It's evident in the fact that only one of them made it to the World Cup. Portugal were lucky enough to take it to penalties and win, but as for who was the better team, Spain was clearly the better team. And I don't understand this talk about Lamine Yamal. Ronaldo scored just one goal in his first World Cup, one in his second and one in his third. Messi didn't even score any in his second after scoring one in his first. Messi even scored only one goal in the 2018 World Cup. So the fact that Lamine didn't score goals doesn't mean anything. He was instrumental for his team. No matter what anybody would say, Lamine is among the best players in the world and showing support for Palestine won't change anything.

Oh no, offcourse I'm not saying that Spain lost it on purppose or something. Portugal were better on that day. But it doesn't changes my opinion about Nations League which were made out of greediness of UEFA IMO, somethingsimilar like there was Confederations Cup one year before World Cup. I completely agree with you here, this is a fictitious tournament. But look at the situation we're in now – for example, we have the Champions League, but the group stage isn't really a Champions League, just friendlies between clubs. It's practically the same in the World Cup group stage, where most of the third-place teams advance to the playoffs. In this situation, I don't care at all about the status of the tournament (what does it matter if even in the elite we are fed with crap), the main thing for me is that there is a playoff where teams die on the field - and that is exactly what happened in the Nations League.

It's one thing to be one of many, but quite another to be the face of football for an entire generation. Even if Yamal grows up and gets rid of the other two problems, I think he won’t be promoted the way he would have been promoted if he hadn’t supported Palestine. Portugal were not the better team in that Nations League final. Spain was the better team. Spain dominated that game just like they dominated France. They just couldn't score their chances and allowed Portugal to always equalise.
