The current state of cryptocurrency is one of the most incredible opportunities any of us will likely participate in throughout our lifetimes. What we have is an innovative and paradigm breaking vehicle, and what’s so intoxicating and alluring is that immediately before us we have these critical check points that are leading cryptocurrency towards an evolutionary period that will determine the fate of an entire industry.
Except for a couple examples, the majority of new coins that have launched in the last 3 months have been successful at achieving only 2 things: profit and deterioration of our industry. We have been plagued by scams and copy cats for weeks. If we continue at this rate our greed will kill this beautiful system. Do not fool yourselves into thinking that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are so innovative and superior that they will simply rise to their places at the top of the economic world. You need only remember Edison and Tesla to have a prime example of how the better ideas and technology do not always win.
It’s time for our community to actively choose an evolutionary path that leads to continued growth and wider spread acceptance. We must move beyond this period of stagnation. You can help. Despite all that doom and gloom, it’s amazing to sit back and watch the crypto community; at times there is so much goodwill and charity where people are donating their time, talents, and money. It has been inspiring to see coins and groups of people rally behind differing causes and make a difference. Experiencing it first-hand and participating has left such a lasting and profound impression on us that we could not stop thinking about how we can do more. For several weeks we met and discussed what we could do. We knew cryptocurrency offered an incredibly unique opportunity, you could see it in a few coins that were increasingly focusing on charitable endeavors. The community is inspired and motivated, ready for that positive evolution. We believe we can offer the first of many steps down that path.
Introducing The Clean Water Coin Initiative Water is the single most important necessity of life. For some of us, access to clean drinking water is as easy as turning on your faucet. But for nearly 1 BILLION people, clean water just isn’t available. In most cases, men, women, and children have one single source of water that is so polluted and contaminated it has become a poison. As a result, more than 4,000 people die EVERY DAY! 9/10 of deaths that are a result of unsafe and contaminated water are children under the age of 5. It’s difficult to fully comprehend that kind of devastation. But focusing on stats and merely discussing the issues won’t help, it’s time to actively participate.
The Clean Water Coin Initiative is the first ever coin designed and developed to be a nonprofit organization. What does that mean? We are a registered Nonprofit Organization and we’ve created a Crypto Charity and coin that lets a community actively participate in helping provide clean water. To do that we've teamed up with
CharityWater.org so that we can create campaigns and raise funds for clean water projects. Also, the community can easily track exactly how we are doing by visiting our campaign page.
Give to Charity + Save Lives by Mining + Using Clean Water Coin We’ve built a unique function into the coin network so that everyone who mines or even uses Clean Water Coin will be helping save lives around the world. Every transaction will donate 0.1% of that transaction to the Charity Wallet, here’s an example: I’ve mined 1,000 Clean Water Coins and I request a manual payout from my pool. As a result of this transaction 1 coin will be donated to the Charity Wallet and the remaining 999 is sent to my wallet.
The Clean Water Coin Charity Wallet All donations will go to the Charity Wallet and from there will go to our
CharityWater.org Digital Drop Project. To prevent flooding our own market with donated coins we will set a recurring schedule to exchange to BTC, this will help to prevent large sums building up over extended periods of time and exchanging all at once. We intend to exchange BTC to USD in order to donate to charity: water. We will also offer the community the ability to purchase Clean Water Coins from the Charity Wallet. Pricing will be established from a market average and the amount of coins available will depend on total donations to the Charity Wallet. More details regarding this feature are soon to come!
Adding Value to Clean Water Coin We recognize that there are many factors that go into the valuation of a coin. Some of those things we can attempt to control and affect, but others rely on the community, exchanges, and the industry. So rather than only relying on trading and exchanges to dictate pricing, we’ve gone to great lengths to add value to holding and using Clean Water Coin.
The first way we’ve done this is to provide advertising opportunities that can only be purchased with Clean Water Coins. We’ve beautifully integrated an advertising section into
CharityWater.org, on each of our wallets, our official and temporary pools, and our official faucet. We’ve also developed code that can be imbedded into pools and community sites that will give more people an opportunity to participate and be charitable without having to donate money or coins. Don’t worry, we will have a strict policy for appropriate content and types of advertisements--we don’t want this to become a burden for the community, it’s intended to be a benefit. Another way we intend to add value is to offer an official source to purchase Clean Water Coins for BTC rather than having exchanges as the only source. All the coins that we will sell will come from the Charity Wallet and the BTC will be donated to charity. Offering this service will be valuable to the community because it allows us to convert the Charity Wallet into BTC without going to an exchange and help us to donate the maximum amount to
CharityWater.org.
Future Development We also have a roadmap of features and services that we are working on and will be able to offer in the future. We can’t reveal everything incase one of those features falls through--we don’t want to promise more than we can deliver and let down the community. However, here is a sneak peak of two features in development:

Write-off WATER Donations - Once we obtain our official 501(c)3 status donating
WATER to the Clean Water Coin Initiative will be tax deductible! Achieving this goal is already underway but it is a difficult and long process. There will be some restrictions but as we get closer to our goal we will share the full details with you.
Technical Details Why are we having an IPO? Clean Water Coin is a major endeavor and although each of us on the development team has a “day job” we cannot fund this project entirely ourselves. If we could we would. Wherever possible we’ve relied on the skillsets of our team to put in work and reduce the costs, however, there are still hard costs and fees that we could not offset. That is where the IPO comes in. 100% of the BTC invested goes towards the Clean Water Coin Initiative. From development and server fees to marketing and outreach programs. We are not using the IPO as a source of income--that’s what our day jobs are for. The First Ever Stress-Free Launch Launch day should be exciting. We don’t want you to be scrambling to find a working pool or to realize the pool you signed up with is having problems and you need to make a last minute switch. We also want to prevent the unfair advantage some people are able to get by being the first solo miner on a new coin. So we’ve devised a unique plan for launch, here’s what you can expect:
Clean Water Coin will launch with three pools. One pool will be an official pool run by us and the other two will be temporary launch pools. The official pool will function like any other pool (except the 1% fee will go directly to the Charity Wallet) however the temporary pools will be designed to filter all miners to community pools as soon as those are available--we will achieve this by helping users create a correct failover setup so that as soon as their community pool of choice is live the miner will switch to that pool. Here is an example launch schedule to give you a better idea:
Leading up to launch day users will be asked to sign up at one of the Clean Water Coin pools. If the official pool has too many miners signing up, overwhelmingly disproportionate to the temporary pools, we will close registration. At this same time we will be working with Pool Operators to provide you with a list of community pools to sign up with as well. We will ask anyone who signs up on one of our temporary pools to also sign up at a community pool. Then we will provide all users with a clear list of instructions for setting up a failover pool.
On Launch day, the moment we go live these three pools will be immediately available. At this same time we will release the source code and community pools will begin setting up. As soon as the community pools are live your miners will automatically switch over and the network of community pools will function like other coins. We will run the two temporary pools for a period of time to make sure if any community pools go down that miners will have the ability to automatically switch back to our working pool and not suffer any extended down times. The plan is then to eventually shut off the temporary pools and only run one official pool along with a thriving community and a healthy spread of network hash rates. The result will be a stress-free launch for miners, pool operators, and us!
