Hi 1211,

Yes, it does appear that the H2O team has chosen to use charity: water's photos -- similar to the way we have... but that is not a bad thing!! We share a similar passion and so the more people helping bring awareness to the nearly 1 billion people without clean drinking water, the better!

These photos and other charity: water media assets can be found here: http://www.charitywater.org/media/downloads.php

That being said, we do not have any affiliation with the H2O coin. We started working on our project in the beginning of 2014 -- well before we even knew they existed. It took some time to build out the website and await for the State of California to approve our Nonprofit Organization documents. The plan from day 1 was to get everything in order and then announce on World Water Day (which we did this past Saturday).

Hopefully that helps clarify the relationship -- or lack thereof between us and H2O Coin.

Let me know if that adequately explains it for you Wink

Thanks,
Paul

Another coin that releases source to specific pools prior to the public.....weak.

Hi pcmerc,

The Clean Water Coin Team has spent a lot of time trying to come up with a solution to help eliminate a lot of the stress and chaos that goes into a launch. The solution they came up with in my opinion is brilliant -- tho I am biased Wink. Here is how it works:

1. Clean Water Coin will set up 3 different pools (1 official one, and 2 temporary ones that will be used just for launch).

2. Each pool will be it's own instance on their Amazon EC2 servers to avoid anyone trying DDoS everything at launch.

3. Miners will be able to register at one of these 3 pools. Keep in mind that we will be monitoring registrations to ensure that the hash power is spread out evenly over these 3 pools.

4. We will then ask miners to pick the community pool of their choice and set their stratum as their default configuration, and our temporary pools as a backup (more instructions on how to do this later).

5. Once we launch, everyone will have the opportunity to start mining immediately from one of our three pools. This makes it fair for everyone and prevents the typical chaos that is involved with 99% of launches these days.

6. As soon as mining kicks off, the community pools will be given the source so that they can compile and launch their pool without having a mild-heart-attack in the process. They can rest assured -- as can the miners, that as soon as your pool of choice get's their pool up, your configuration file will allow you to seamlessly switch over to that pool while you sit back and drink your fresh clean water and relax.

Hopefully that clarifies everything, but if not -- keep the questions coming, that is what I am here for!!

Thanks,
Paul

crossing my fingers to a good clean launch... you guys sound promising

See above Ammon Wink
We have gone to great lengths to help facilitate and execute a nice clean & stress free launch!

cool, ty! looking forward to sunday Cheesy

You will be able to mine with your CPU at launch and there after, though it isn't as efficient as using a GPU. When it becomes too inefficient to mine with a CPU all depends on the difficulty, so you will just need to pay attention to that. But from the beginning you definitely have an opportunity to earn some coins CPU mining.

We do truly support charity and we will be able to show that by funding our charity: water projects. We will continually strive to run in an open and transparent manner.

Regarding CPU mining, it will be possible but difficulty will likely make it not worth while after a short time.

Hi europesss,

Once the coin launches, we will be updating the website to show the amount of BTC raised + donated, and then you can cross reference that with what is listed on charity: water's site. As mentioned above, transparency and honesty is very important to us and we will do the best we can to be active and open at all times!!

Here is a link to the first water project we will be funding: http://my.charitywater.org/digital-drop-initiative-the-launch

Thanks for your positivity!

Did You Know?
That 100% of Public Donations to charity: water goes to fund clean water projects?

This is one of the main reasons we chose to send our donations to charity: water.
Read more about their 100% here:http://www.charitywater.org/100percent/.

For a second time H2O had a terrible start. I'm switching to CleanWaterCoin, and I do hope this project will be handled more professional.
