But they still lost by 3-2. Nice had literally 5 shots in total. I really like Lyon this season. I don't know whether barely getting rid of relegation because of bad finances motivated them somehow. But I won't be surprised to see them in the Champions League next season.

For awhile games week 8, PSG dropped to 2nd position standings after after being held to draw by Strasbourg and last night Marseille win against Le Havre make them moving to first standings behind one point left. Its bigger challenge for PSG after inconsistency performance at domestic league after losing 7 points of 8 games actually have collected 24 points but current PSG have 17 points. Leaving by Gianluigi Donnarumma PSG have conceded 8 goals in domestic league and can't make clean sheet last three games in a row all competition. I don't think easily for defending UEFA Champion League trophy although won last two matches early due many top teams on the top performance currently.

You're not wrong; I feel the same way. They certainly seem more enthusiastic when playing in the UCL, but that shouldn't be the case. Let's look at last season; they played well in both competitions and won them. They should be able to do the same. If I were a PSG fan I won't even be worried about the Ligue 1 tittle, I'll be more curious concerning my team winning the Champions League again, I don't know if I'll say the Ligue 1 has become the right of PSG in the sense that even when you think they won't win, they'll still manage to win it at the end of the season, well Marseille have been impressive this season they're a team to watch out for this season.

I don't think Luis Enrique is too worried about winning the Ligue 1 title. Because PSG has few rivals in Ligue 1. Marseille and Strasbourg are playing well now, Marseille is now at the top of the table. However, it is unlikely that they will continue such a great performance until the end of the season. A tough task lies ahead for Fonseca as Lyon's manager he's under pressure to turn the squad's form around while the team is dealing with other internal issues. But there's no doubt Fonseca is one of the more experienced managers out there, having faced plenty of challenges at various team. That experience could be key in helping him find the right solutions for Lyon.

After reading your comment, I just realized how crazy Marseille have been at the start of this season, they're actually putting up a real fight against PSG with some impressive performances. GF 21, GA 7, GD 14. Meanwhile, PSG are at GF 16, GA 8, GD 8. Marseille's improvement this season is clear to see, and it's making Ligue 1 way more exciting. Hopefully they can stay consistent and keep this level up all season.

I don't know about any other team in this French league as I have already given PSG the title already, they had some set back drawing their last game but that still doesn't affect them that much. The reason why I feel PSG are going to win this title is because of the consistency that the coach has installed in the mind of these players and even with the draw their game they are certainly going to come out a whole lot stronger. As for the like of Lyon and Marseille i think fight for the champions league spot is what they can think of.

However, they are still doing alright because they won five out of eight and that is not a bad deal at all. Nobody expects them to be the league winners, hell it is a miracle that they stayed in the league after what happened in the summer but they are seeing what they are doing at the moment.

So what we are assuming right now would be making sure that we can see Lyon stay in the top four. Will it be easy? Of course not, they are going to have a hard time being in the top four but considering their financial situation, they really need that UCL money they can get next year.

Yes. Defending the UCL title isn't easy especially since PSG's performance this season isn't the same as last season. This also applies in Ligue 1; they will struggle to retain the title. They are always favored to retain the title, but if their game isn't improved, it's possible they will drop points again in their next matches. Furthermore when Enrique is missing key players, he seems to struggle to implement his winning strategy. The defeat to Marseille and the draws against Lille and Strasbourg prove Enrique struggles to win when key players are injured.

When I see Dembele I want Rodry at Man City. Perhaps Dembele's fate will be the same as Rodry's after winning the Ballon d'Or, as both players are unable to perform at their best after recovering from injury. We'll have to wait and see. Sometimes when some teams ran out of luck it always looks as if the whole world is against them, I have seen where a team was leading in every stats in the game but lost 5 goals to nothing and I was kind of wondering if that was magic or what, so if Lyon did all they could buy still lost the game it's not really a big deal it's normal in this game called soccer just like that of Liverpool vs Manchester United we all saw that Liverpool was superb yesterday but luck was not on their side so they lost, the only thing here is Lyon should do well to step up their game else they will still lose come this weekend.

I predict PSG's declining performance in Ligue 1 is due to numerous injuries, which has impacted their performance recently. PSG also prioritized Ligue 1 as their goal this season, and every team dreams of winning the Champions League. PSG's success in defending their title every season means they certainly don't want to lose it. Therefore, Luis Enrique will continue to want his team to keep winning every match. Even though Ligue 1 isn't as competitive in terms of the title race, they can't afford to drop points, as other teams will capitalize on the opportunity to win this season's title.
