I have to say, I haven't been following French Ligue 1 recently. I've checked the table and was a bit shocked to see Lens as the leader and PSG on the second place.
When we were at the beginning of the season, Lens were doing OK, but it seemed like the best they can hope for is the top 5, but they did improve recently with 5 league wins in a row. I don't expect them to be able to maintain the 1st place for long, I believe PSG will get back there after a short period of decline in performance.
As I'm typing this, PSG defeated Rennes 5-0 and that's a powerful statement considering Rennes is a fairly solid team.

Lens is playing well now, they use this opportunity when they are still strong and in good form to win their matches and this has taken them to the top of the table since teams like Marseille, Monaco, Lille, and Lyon that are supposed to use their opportunities as well when PSG is battling injury crises now, but they all failed even though some of them are trying; only Lens out of no where did well to overtake PSG.

The main problem is consistency and it is the only reason why PSG will have to come back to their position because fatigue and injury will also affect lens and inexperience will also play an important role in their games very soon. But they did well to be in this position for now.

At the very least, Marseille can make the competition at the top of the table slightly competitive, even though their strength is not really considered as a trophy challenger. With a one point difference, in the next few matches, PSG will likely succeed in taking back the top spot from Lens. In my opinion, PSG is currently still considered the main favourite in the race for the trophy.

When all their key players are available, Enrique can easily overcome any challenge in Ligue 1, I don't think they have anything to worry about. PSG main focus this season remains the Champions League, as they are ambitious to win it consecutively. Of course, there are many strong teams there, and PSG is one of the favourites for many people.

Ligue 1 is a place that is not really favorable for other clubs in the competition even though there are still some clubs like Marseille, Lille or even Lens who are now regaining momentum after several seasons they drowned still when talking about trophies PSG is always at the forefront in this regard.
Ligue 1 and PSG are not too different from the Bundesliga and Bayern so when it comes to trophies it's a given even when the season hasn't started yet.

At least two clubs have defeated PSG so far, giving other teams a renewed drive to repeat the same results. It won't be easy to beat PSG, but it's not impossible for some teams there to repeat the same feat. PSG are still the favorites to win the title, but we hope the competition in Ligue 1 can be much more competitive, so the league won't be dominated solely by PSG. Lens has managed to lead the standings, and they must perform consistently in their next matches. A one-point gap isn't comfortable for them so far, as PSG can still catch up with a very close gap.

Even though there are currently 2 clubs that have managed to bring PSG to their knees in the match because they had to lose and there are 3 other clubs that managed to tackle PSG in Ligue 1 with a draw but that does not cover the fact that they are still a dominant club for now.

Currently 1 point difference with Lens is almost similar to the competition in the last few seasons but this I think will not change anything especially about the problem of who will win this season because Ligue 1 everything is still the same.

But there is indeed an interesting thing that Lens is showing at the moment where they seem to adopt a style even with players who actually look outcasts in the EPL but instead they show a very good thing for now.

They fell behind by a goal from Pablo Pagis in the 39th minute. However, instead of equalizing and restoring the lead, a Lyon player received a red card for accumulating yellow cards in the 42nd minute. This left their midfield looking unbalanced, and they failed to salvage their position with only 10 players.

Lyon's performance declined, and their position ultimately dropped to fifth place. In fact, they have only managed one win in their last five matches.

Olympic Lyon needed to earn full points and secure a victory to enter the top-tier competition, but surprisingly, Olympic Lyon was defeated by the weak bottom-tier French league team Lorient, with the winning goal scored by Pablo Pagis. With this loss, it is very difficult for them to secure a Champions League ticket for next season, which is currently held by Marseille in third place. The most realistic goal for Lyon this season is to qualify for the European competition next season in the Europa League.

Lens clinched their lead with another win this week. Next up is Paris Saint-Germain's match, which is currently being played against Rennes. Both teams are struggling to find chances, and it's been almost 20 minutes. It's safe to say Paris Saint-Germain is dominating the game. They'll likely earn the three points by the end of the match.

Lens is being an annoying opponent for Paris Saint-Germain. They keep winning every round at the time where many top teams are failing like Marseille and Monaco.
PSG is facing right now Rennes and they just scored a goal by Kvaratskhelia.. The difference returned to be a single point right now assuming that PSG will win the game.

We'll likely see an easy victory for Paris Saint-Germain, as they scored their second goal and were 2-0 up at halftime. There are currently 30 minutes left, and Paris Saint-Germain is playing comfortably. Rennes doesn't look like a team that will challenge them too much. They'll reduce the gap to one point again after this match.

On paper Rennes looked like a team that would challenge PSG too much, and I even believed Rennes could make PSG drop more points on Saturday, but the match turned out that Rennes was an easy opponent for PSG. After PSG easily won against Rennes, Lens is leading PSG by just one point.

I don't think so at all. Like you said, they have a modest squad. It wouldn't be enough to compete a huge team like PSG until the end of the season...

But they can still finish behind PSG of course. It isn't a thing they didn't do in the past. We can just look back to the 22/23 season. They finished 1 point behind.

If you ask me, I would also love to see a different champion more often. But I'm afraid the Ligue 1 is no different than Bundesliga about that.

Marseille's defeat against Lille in their last match has put their chances of leading the table in jeopardy. Their victory against Paris Saint-Germain gave many hopes. Perhaps they believed they would win another French league title this year, but at this point, we see that Marseille continues to have a habit of dropping points to other teams.

Marseille is not the team to be considered as a threat to PSG right now because they are not consistent in their performance Lens is the team that is looking like a threat to PSG because they are ahead of PSG naw they are not looking like they will be losing unless they play against a team that could defeat them. Marseille can not be a threat when they will win one match and lose the next PSG can always overtake team if they are ahead of PSG but now it's Lens that is topping the league if PSG is not careful they can lose it this season because they have a lot of injuries in the team and they are not being very consistent like before.

The only expectation is I will  be getting or having of Marseille now will be for them to fight for a good finish around  the top four positions on the table and also try bringing some strong competitiveness to the league, they can achieve that by trying to level up the point difference with PSG even when they may not be able  to achieve it, but the attempt at it will bring about  the competition that will make the league look even exciting than the regular farming patterns we have seen around it awhile.

I have to admit that Lens performed amazingly at the start of this season especially in the last 5 weeks winning all the matches, but I agree with you that this achievement will not be enough for them to maintain because the quality of the squad is very different from PSG, in the end at the end of the season what we see is always the same, namely PSG as champions, but I am also happy that this season the competition is much more interesting.

If there league was to end after a match from each of them then Lens can win the league but since we have to talk about 17 to 19 match they have to play before the first position can come out they cannot win yet because what they have forward is much than what they have finished. Even if they go with the difference of one point it will still turn around them because they have PSG ones again before the finishing of the season and the one time they met them this season was 2:0 against Lens so actually PSG will definitely see a point that would make them more whole than lens. For the fact that Lens didn't see this champions league because of there past should also be a good thing if they're going to see it from the second place of this league.

None of us could have predicted where Paris Saint-Germain is this year. After winning the Champions League last year by five goals in the final, many considered them the strongest team in Europe. Dembele won the European Player of the Year award, and Paris Saint-Germain boasts a wealth of top players. Considering their impressive performances in the French league so far, it's perhaps too early to speculate on the end of the season. Of course, Paris Saint-Germain is my current favorite, but if you're wondering if there could be a surprise, why not? In football, anything is possible, and anything can happen. Just as Bayern Munich's dominance ended with Leverkusen, perhaps the same could happen in France this year.
