I got wrong about the first leg of the Saint-Etienne - Nice matchup... I thought there would be BTTS.    Both sides seemed like they didn't want to take big risks.

Probably a similar game would be seen again. Maybe this time a 1-1 draw and extra time, who knows! But no matter what (except a red card), I expect Nice to be the one leaving the field victorious.

People will always have their preferences and their taughts and this is always beyond your control, their sense of judgment will always be according to what they want to believe as the definition of certain terms, so success to you may be different from what they see as such and most other time it is as a result of their personal sentiments about certain subject matters.

To everyone who has followed the Ligue 1 would testify that last season they were even a better team than they were this season, they had a better run last season than they did this season, and that of this season was mostly blamed on the champions league they were focusing so much on, but in all they were and have been a very good team in the Ligue 1 by all standards.

PSG has not been as consistent as they were in the previous season. I can agree with you that they were the best team last season, as they did not take it easy on any team, both in the domestic league and the Champions League. However, this season the case has changed. They started playing without much consistency, and it may be as a result of them achieving their long awaited goal, which is winning the Champions League trophy.

On the other hand, Arsenal, who are their opponents in the final, have not drawn or lost any games in the Champions League, which shows how consistent they have been this season. This is what makes me think that Arsenal can still have hope of winning.

The best team of the season can't finish in the top eight of the Champions League for two seasons in a row? Are you serious? 
PSG is a team that can prepare well for individual decisive games because it has resources (Ligue 1 is a farm league), that's the only difference. Yes, it helps them win titles, including the Champions League last year, but the fact remains that if you take the entire season, they have many unsuccessful periods and they cannot compare with either Bayern or Arsenal, who are having a smooth season.

The 2025/26 is now officially over. In the very last game of the season, being a 2nd leg play-off, Nice were successful in defending their place in Ligue 1 against Saint Etienne. The 1st leg was a goalless draw, and today Nice fully utilised their home advantage and proved their superiority by destroying Saint Etienne 4-1.
The result was 1-1 up to the 80th minute, but Nice managed to score 3 in the last 10 minutes + the stoppage time.

So the only two teams getting promoted from Ligue 2 are Troyes and Le Mans.

That's the same thing they employed Messi and other biggest players for, but they couldn't achieve. This means so much to them club, and of course, they could be regarded as the best club for that, at least in Europe last season. And if they eventually win it again this season, then it's not a coincidence, and as you said, they should be regarded as the best again this year.

Nice should be happy to have secured a scoreless draw in their first away game. In tomorrow’s match, Nice will obviously be the favorite. Looking at the head-to-head history between the two teams, we saw for the first time in a long while that a match ended in a draw as of last week. Nice must win this home game to stay in the league. Saint-Étienne certainly has a chance, but we can say they’ve completely ceded the advantage to Nice.

It's all thanks to Enrique's smart and bold decision to move on from Messi and several other star players instead of continuing to build the team around them. That decision made the PSG squad much healthier and less dependent on a few individuals.

Since those big name players left, PSG have looked far more solid as a team. The chemistry, teamwork, and overall balance have improved significantly. Of course, the players deserve credit too, but a lot of this comes down to Enrique's tactics, strategy, and vision. In my opinion, he's the one who deserves the biggest share of the praise for PSG's transformation.

Monaco is a very big disappointment, they are one of big teams in their league but they have become an underdog that struggles to make it to the European competition it's just a pity cause they will be struggling to attract quality players for next season since they will be playing just the league and their cup games. Monaco had the opportunity to qualify for one European competition but they blow their opportunity when they couldn't win their games. Filipe Luís becoming the manager of the team will not give them immediate results they need to have good players and improve their performance also.

In Ligue 1, both Monaco and Lille, and Marseille at the beginning of the season, do a spectacular job and yes, they even inspire hope, but they are not able to maintain that level. They lose in ways you can't imagine, and that bothers me. It's something I've never liked. I think what they should do is go all out so they can generate more excitement. Until that happens, PSG will easily dominate this league.

Congratulations to Nice, they're back in Ligue 1 after beating Saint Etienne 4-1, I wasn't expecting much from them after a dip in form in Ligue 1 that saw them finish in 16th place at the end of the season, but they didn't waste a chance in the play offs. They impressed in the second leg, hopefully they can right the wrongs of this season and perform better for the new season.

That's the problem these teams have. They cannot maintain their good performance for long because of injury and fatigue. Some of them cannot perform well overtime because they're not strong enough to keep up with their pace. A big club has players that are used to playing very well overtime till the end of the season without dropping form. They don't just have one or two players like that but majority of them.

I think, it's better for a club to start the season in a poor form and later pick form and stay consistent till the end of the season because than starting the season in a superb style and drop form at mid season.

Surprising performance from Nice, after they could only get a draw at Geoffroy-Guichard, I was not sure that they could play well in the second leg, but my prediction was wrong. They managed to win with a convincing score, no goals in the first half turned out not to be a bad sign for Nice supporters, because all the goals came in the second half.

Nice must have learned from their mistakes this season, their final position this season was not deserved if we look at what Nice did in the previous 2 seasons.
