That was why I was happy with the way they are humbled by Lens they don’t own that league, so some teams need to step up to let them know that they have competitors, and such performance from Lens is a good one to prove to them that they can withstand their pressure and also compete to win some certain trophies in their country.

It’s always hard to pick a favorite team whenever these two teams meet because they always try their best not to give each other room to win. When I checked their head-to-head record, I noticed that, in most cases, it is a draw. Their matches always seem to end that way, so even today, I expected their match to end in a draw, or possibly for one lucky team to get the win.

Before, I wanted to bet on Marseille as my favorite team to win the match because, when I checked their preseason results, I saw that Marseille had better results than Strasbourg. In all the friendly matches that Strasbourg played, they lost all of them and were only lucky enough to win one, which was even decided by a penalty shootout. But sometimes, it is not always about preseason match results because some teams do not always take their preseason matches seriously.

The way Lens performed against PSG in the French Super Cup gives me some confidence that this season they will likely be a threat to PSG again. If they are lucky enough, they could even win the match. But let’s see how their first few matches go.

I had high expectations for Lens last season after they led the French League for a few weeks. They suddenly lost the team, and PSG overtook them and won the League. I don't expect anything different this season. It would take a strong team with good players to battle PSG. But Lens have not been able to rise to the challenge.

I thought they would spend a lot in the transfer window; they focused on balancing their books by selling players like Mamadou Sangaré to Brentford. They have spent about €15m on a few players, such as Michaël Cuisance, Maik Nawrocki, and Michal Skóraś, which is commendable. I might be wrong, but I don't see this squad dethroning PSG.
