Anything is possible, the future is unpredictable most especially in crypto space, but before putting a new altcoin against Ethereum the coin must out perform strong altcoins like EOS, NEO, XRP before finally facing Ethereum, if this doesn't happen no coin can take Ethereum place

This is an ever competitive market; and in the business world impossilities does not exist.
The only thing is that, if ETH keep up it's game. It will perpetually remain a coin to beat, but a minute of levity could see them pushed aside because others are working hard as well to climb up the chart and remain there as long as they could.

In terms of price, maybe currently there are many new altcoins that have almost the same price and some are higher than the price of Ethereum in the market, but in terms of popularity, function, and capitalization, it looks like it will be very difficult to beat by any alt coin today, be it old alt coins and new alt coins.
Even now many new alt coins are being created but none of these can even replace ethereum as the second largest crypto on the current coinmarketcap list, 1 or 2 years from now it looks like ethereum will remain everyone's favorite in the crypto community. .

Ethereum is facing its limit and problems. In the long run, I thing others cryptocurrencies like EOS can beat Ethereum in the market.
in the long run, but how long buddy ? because a lot of altcoins claim will become an ethereum killer, but the fact until now ethereum still become the best altcoins in the market, and for sure, ethereum will always stay as the king of altcoins |

if I'm not mistaken, back then BCH and XRP took over ethereum and came in second but didn't last long, every coin could take second place it could have happened if altcoins had something to attract cryptocurrency users to their market. but until now i haven't seen altcoin beat ethereum.

I dont think that there will be new crypto that can out-ranked ethereum as the top rank altcoin knowing that it really dominates all the altcoins in the market. But if there is an altcoin that can out-rank ethereum, I am totally confident that it is RIPPLE(XRP) which was happen about a year ago.
We do not know what will going to happen because everything in the altcoins can possibly happen. Why? even though ETH had already expresses that their upgrade is good and that their network now is fast and reliable other crypto like chain link progressively grow over a period of time climbing up to the rank slowly beating other crypto in the rank listed at coinmarketcap.com. Other coins like the uniswap, YFI which has been pumped by whales could be something a very interesting coin. |

Ripple out-ranked ETH for a short period of time way back. But with the developements that taking place right now and the level of confidence coming from ETH supporters, the possibilities is too small for Ripple to get that position again and be the 2nd to crypto around this industry, it needs a lots of money to support the volume to pumped high the value of Ripple. |

There are many crypto token listed in coinmarketcap and been traded in top exchanges like binance, Yobit and lDex exchange which people consider as proficient enough in the cryptocurrency market and knowing well that Eth is ranking number 2 position in the coinmarketcap, let's discuss Do you think that any new crypto currency overtake Eth in times of price value can that be possible?
If there will be a competition for ETH at the 2nd spot I'd say it will be Ripple for sure. Ripple(XRP) had this one time where it surpass ETH for a while in the rankings. But I doubt that this will happen soon, XRP still needs a lot of development in order to surpass ETH again and with ETH releasing some big updates and development XRP will surely have a hard time to climb at rank 2 again and surpass ETH. |

There are several key factors that make Ethereum and Bitcoin unbeatable. some of it is due to large users, and the second is the usefulness factor in solving problems or real use cases. XRP can probably beat the two in terms of investment, as their prices are quite affordable and they also offer a very good ROI in a relatively short period of time. but so far I think in terms of two important factors such as usability and users, nothing can beat bitcoin and ethereum |

Anything can happen in this competitive market. Technology changes from time to time and we never know what will happen in the future. Yes, a new crypto coin can beat Ethereum but I don't think so it will happen in the near future because there is no other cryptocurrency at the moment that matches the Ethereum value and In terms of total market cap, XRP can overtake Ethereum.

I don't think so. At this point of time it's very hard for any crypto to beat eth in market cap and take the 2nd space. For a long time ethereum is the biggest platform based token and also it has the most use cases. Most of the good coins realesed on ethereum and after definitely projects started to come ethereum is nownon top of uses. Also the 3rd party dev support are also big in ethereum community. And people also like ethereum. So it's hard fornany crypto to take ethereum space.

I have seen market places which accept only BTC, but I haven't seen one which accepts only Ethereum payments. On top of that, the developers are not fulfilling the expectation of the users now. Various innovations are getting delayed and new bugs and security issues are being found. If this trend continues, then in the long term ETH will be replaced by some other altcoin. |
