Not a single altcoins can become the next bitcoin, let alone just ripple where the difference is too big. The simplest example is the supply of ripple and bitcoin which is too far away. For the price they are also much different. I think no alts can match bitcoin forever.

Theres some coin that people say can be the next bitcoin and bitcoin crown will fall, let say ethereum, cardano, ripple and others bitcoin
But i believe bitcoin still strong and defend his throne
The price maybe can defeat now by some defi coin like Y family and some defi ecosystem but they just a fase and just a temporary hype in cryptocurrency and rule of the jungle will tell who was the king and we all knew who

Lol, xrp is the next bitcoin because it is going  to be over %10? No way a "centralized" coin is going to take over bitcoin. Majority of the nodes belong to ripple and there are people still there who believes XRP is completely decentralize and isn't controlled by anyone, whereas there is a central entity providing it a leadership. Why do you think banks are interested in ripple?

As we all have seen ripple has been quite strong these past few days and with all that it has done over the past months compared to most other currencies and the launch of xrapid is actually starting to show in its price.
There is so much talk about ripple taking over bitcoin and being 10$ what are your thoughts on this?

There are lots of good altcoins present in the market (e.g. ethereum, litecoin, etc.) but I do not see them beating the reigning cryptocurrency in the market anytime soon. The price of bitcoin is so substantially high that it may seem impossible for these altcoins to reach the price. Although newer and newer coins have been generating throughout the year with recent technological advancements and innovation, one of the most effective ways in order to beat bitcoin is if there are any external factors that may let bitcoin fall.

For example, government regulations prohibiting the utilization of bitcoin would force the people to probably switch to another altcoin. Maybe Ethereum is the next bitcoin but I do not see the latter going down anytime soon.

No, it's not gonna happen.

Crypto is suppose to be for centralized asset, the reason why bitcoin stays at the number 1 because it doesn't change, it's still the decentralized asset that we love before, if it will be replace by Ripple, this crypto market will become centralized, it doesn't make sense really.
yes it will be difficult for ripple to shift bitcoin, even if the price of ripple reaches $ 20 I am sure the position of bitcoin will be solid. because ripple was created only to balance bitcoin and come under bitcoin position
High price doesn't mean high value. YFI is priced higher than BTC but it has not replaced btc

is value and price the same  ? but the word value can have other meaning  . means its valueable  .  fyi was only high on price but we dont consider it as valueable as btc   and the reason why yfi is not on the top ranks is because its new and its marketcap is still small but i dont think it can climb the ranks because not all people are going to get attracted with its high price  . ripple on the other hand is not totally consider as a bad coin but its nature is different from btc and that makes it disqualified as a candidate for the next btc

I won't agree with you because since 2018 until now they can't make their coin up to $1. I don't know where you got that idea but 1 thing I'm sure xrp is no much to btc. If you're active of their progress you should noticed all those problems they're facing, they got lot of troubles. lol

Yes, they got big partners but still no much and it will never be.

guessing and analyzing is clearly allowed and there is no problem if he believes it, but for those who don't believe his opinion must also be respected.
If the story is a possibility, everything is possible but realistic is also necessary.

How can one judge performance of one coin with past few days data against the coin who have been outperforming since last decade and year?

When something becomes brand you can not replace it very easily. It may or may not perform in the later stage but the name that it has earned will bring the capital investment into it. In our scenario BTC will always surpass the ripple in any case.

If you read the other posts then there is one more valid reason as to why ripple can't go ahead BTC and that is it's centralised nature. Believe me on this since people are loving the decentralised transactions and that is prime reason why they are here. So it's a no from my side.

Of course Yes!
As soon as the creators stop selling their tokens on the market and  when they really will make Ripple truly decentralized. In the meantime, it's more like a very subtle game of deceiving people to earn money on them.
Ripple is not much more trustworthy than other alts. Can slightly more of course same but not more moreover.

In terms of technology, ripple is way better compared to bitcoin. Ripple, even if it is accused of centralization, is actually decentralized. Ripple also has a fixed supply like Bitcoin, meaning it is not inflationary and is sustainable in the long run. Some banks are currently using ripple and other traditional payment methods are eying on integrating crypto payments using ripple. Ripple is much more scalable compared to most blockchains and provide one of the cheapest transactions making it a great candidate for future crypto integrations.

Ripple was strong because BTC was strong. Now BTC is down, Ripple is down too.  With such a dependency on the BTC how can you expect that Ripple will replace BTC.

No this is not going to happen even in very long run because XRP is good coin and project but still not able to came near this bitcoin may be few peoples feeling about this but surely its just a decentralized project which is controlled by a company.

There is a huge power gap between Ripple and other altcoins even though they also on top 10 altcoins on the CMC. Ripple total market cap is $10 billion while altcoin that runner-up behind Ripple only ranges around $3 billion to $4 billion each. Yeah, it might not stand toe to toe ETH or Bitcoin as you want it to become the 'next Bitcoin' but I think Ripple is fine at the #3 place behind those two. Tether doesn't count.

Ripple is a great coin and as you said centralized coin, but it is not enough to be the next BTC. l don't think that there can be any altcoins that can replace BTC. It is really impossible, it doesn't matter coin which is better among altcoins, we will not see that happens. BTC is first and alone which is the king in the crypto world. I strongly doubt the alternative cryptocurrencies will replace the BTC, maybe US-backed crypto can do this. Exceptions don't break the rule.

Even if how great xrp right now and even how it shows its improvement to all us, it is impossible for xrp to replace bitcoin. The only thing I know that is possible is its price to increase because  of its continuous growth that will definitely lead for its price to increase any time soon.

Ripple is a good cryptocurrency and they have made lots of achievement so far. I also like the fact that they are able to achieve their purpose of working with several banks around the world, but I don’t think that Bitcoin and ripple are heading to different direction, and I don’t see ripple replacing Bitcoin.

Ripple is good and it has also managed place itself on a high rank in the cryptocurrency market, and yes it deserves that position, and I also think that Bitcoin deserves the position it’s in now as the number one. Bitcoin won’t be replaced any time soon, if that’s even possible. Bitcoin came first and when people talk about cryptocurrency and decentralized payment, it’s always Bitcoin because it is the first to make that name for itself.

Ripple can't be next bitcoin in my opinion because of it use case, although the market of ripple has been growing sometimes now but can't be compare with bitcoin. Bitcoin is not negotiable as a supreme cryptocurrency, its not just an investment and payment methods but it will be use by petty payment like what ripple stood for. Ripple has it peculiarity compare to Bitcoin but can't see it as a next bitcoin as op assumed.

I don't think so. Bitcoin and ethereum is very different from each other l. Bitcoin is a digital coin which use is just payment and nowadays many people store it as an asset. In other hand ripple is a banking system based crypto. Bit in this community many people don't like crypto cause it's fully centralised cause ripple is backed by banks and investors. And in marketcap ripple has a good marketcap but it's far behind btc. Btc own the more than 50% of total marketcap of the whole market. So it's hard. But it's a good project maybe in future ripple give some good profit.
