I think that you shouldn't be surprised by how arsenal have been in the past few seasons, they have gotten used to not winning to the extent that when asene Wenger was still the manager of the club, he said that coming out as one of the top four teams in England is like a trophy to them, that shows the level and how far they have fallen.

So for arsenal to have the capacity to go toe too toe with Manchester city for the title in the past two seasons, even though they were the one that threw it away, the arsenal faithful will say that they did massively well because coming out second in the English premier league is a massive trophy to them.

Lastly, till this arsenal team stop having that mindset that coming out second is a great achievement, they wouldn't be able to achieve anything big, they should first of all kill that mindset, and they should have the mentality of all or nothing, because that's how champions think.

Arsenal spend a lot of money on transfers and they are progressing well, but you are right in saying that they are left without a trophy, and this is the main indicator of a team's success. I understand that Arteta has done a lot for Arsenal, he was given a chance and he took advantage of it, but if this continues, then Arsenal will be forced to change something, if Arteta is a coach who cannot win a single title, then he will not be able to stay for long in the coach's place. If Arsenal fails to accumulate at least 90 points next season, their chances of winning the PL trophy will be quite meager. Last season, Arteta improved his team really well and helped Arsenal shatter the 27th record of a season with the most wins, though they were still trophyless. 

Arteta's last challenge is to improve the mindset of his squad; ideally, they would return last season as one of the championship candidates stronger. Arsenal is still too often doing bottle job; hence, nothing surprises me here to see others lose their passion to this team. Yes, when Arsene Wenger coached Arsenal in 1996, you could say that was where Arsenal's glory days began. because when Arsene Wenger served as coach at Arsenal, he was able to bring Arsenal to become Premier League champions in several seasons. The difference between Manchester City and Arsenal last season is just two points. City won the last two season with five points difference. Last season Arsenal drew just five games while City got a higher number of seven draws. The only difference was that the Gunners lost five games while the Cityzens lost just three. Therefore the problem with Arsenal was not settling for draws but losing important games after occupying the top spots for a greater part of the season

The fans of the Gunners are really patient to always stand by the team, the manager and the board whenever they're messing up, you hardly see banners of sack this person or change the board, no not with Arsenal but if they finish second again  next campaign I think it has to be officially said that they're club with bucket filled with bad luck, nothing celebrating can ever happen in that club, until next season.

Chelsea's biggest problem is that they don't have a regular squad. This leads to instability in the team. That's some pretty good addition mad to the squad. I must say that the business approach of Todd Boehly and whoever is in charge of sale and buying of players for Chelsea has got to be top top notch. They did well during the last transfer window last season as they made good profits from the sale of players.

Chelsea decision to overhaul the back line is indeed worth doing, based on last season defenders, of course they will be very ineffective at actually being able to defend the goal from the opponent's moans.
