MohSalah is a player who has scored 10 goals against Man United during their meetings over several seasons and that is a tribute to him still being a great player. Although in yesterday's match Salah only scored one goal, for him, he still excelled. Both Rashford and Sancho scored each of their goals in a very experienced way. I think we will see Ronaldo sitting on the bench more often now.

Oh dear, Ronaldo was substituted just before the end and that with 3 other players at the same time. So no change to bring his quality into the game. That was only to play for time. That's true. Not only because it is a good football to watch, but even during a period where City looks like they are dominating for the few past years, it's not like bundesliga or ligue 1 domination. If Varane is injured, Man United still has some options (Lindelof, Tuanzebe, or Phil Jones). It isn't a must to put Maguire on the lineup.

I am viewing a club friendly match between Barcelona and Manchester City. I am yet to understand the essence of the friendly when the season has already began and there are risks of players getting injured in the match. I don't know the reason for the friendly. I was thinking maybe they want to test their second eleven but people in the line up are still familiar people like Fati, Busquest, De Jong etc.
The match is currently 1:1 and it might end in draw.

My initial thought while reading your post is that it's probably a match previously agreed upon but it was delayed for some reason. True enough that was the case. It was a match scheduled last year but they had to delay it due to the lack of possible audience caused by the COVID-19 restrictions. It appears the game was also for a charity so it's understandable that they had to make it happen.

Honestly if Man Utd can replicate their brilliant performance against Liverpool in their subsequent matches then maybe the expected turn around of the club is imminent, of course credit should be given to them for that win against their arch rival after many soccer analysts had predicted that they will lose that match, they played with zeal and determination, I think they will continue to continue on a positive note and consolidate on that win in their next match and the arrival of Casimero probably a more improve side.

The latest news also mentions that the Man Utd coach will end their era of defender jokes.  This time, it is claimed that Erik Ten Hag will take decisive steps by removing Maguire's captain's armband and will patent the Varane - Martinez duo.

Wow, I wonder why the captain's armband was not taken away from him earlier, a very strange decision was to appoint a captain, but this is a matter of the team itself I think. People shouldn't really expect the worlds from United just because they won this game. I am not saying that we shouldn't really be doing this, all I am saying is that United may not be good because of that first two games as well. We have seen them be terrible for 2 games and be good for one game and suddenly just because they had a good game, everyone started to think they will make a comeback, recover, and be a great team. I do not expect that at all, they will surely have many more bad games, do not think that they will be bottom half, they will be top 10, but not top 4-5, thats not going to happen.

A lot will be expected from Manchester United especially now that they have defeated one of the league biggest clubs. Manchester United managed to beat Liverpool, they also made a signing of one of the world's best midfielders, all eyes will be on them this weekend with a win expected against Southampton.

If what Erik said is true and his strategy actually worked after the match against Liverpool, I don't mind him benching Ronaldo for more matches and then use him for smaller matches to gain more points, this will quickly boost their position on the table without conceding any defeats.

It was Ten Hag's policy from the start when he coached Manchester United but the reason is not very clear, but for now when it happens then this is one of the wise decisions in my opinion because imposing Maguire with his condition who always plays under his performance is clear also detrimental for the club especially he is a captain who should provide high motivation but his role on the field is clearly the subject of ridicule.

I'm not very familiar with strategy but what you said makes sense Manchester United need to find the best strategy
Experimenting in multiple matches is not a bad idea although it should have been done in pre-season
But there is no other choice before it's too late Manchester United can still find the best game like in the last match.

Remember that there would be no guarantee if MU can win against the small team easily. Yeah it can win against liverpool but i shall remind you that if the things didn't go easy like that. southampton can even perform better than liverpool.
The fact that MU lose against all of small team in early matches. Casemiro came but it doesn't mean it will change the performance from MU drastically.

I think that's what helped the Manchester United team in this game. They were confident in there defence line and you could note that, De Gea was better and impressive in this game.

Truly. Psychologically, maybe the players are much calmer and optimal if there is no Maguire at the back. so they are less worried about surprises at the back and they can focus more on their respective positions and work together solidly. Except a miracle happens, Ronaldo would never give his best to Manchester United. He wants to leave and that is his final decision. But he should be encouraged by Manchester United performance against Liverpool and commit his service totally to the club. With this performance, Manchester united might be part of the Champions league next season which is Ronaldo's dream. Coach Ten Hag should device a means to motivate Ronaldo to join the revolution that is about to happen in that team. This because Ronaldo has a lot to contribute to the Manchester United team.
