Manchester city won in a dramatic way on the road against Sheffield and they have again proven their consistency over the last few games. The goal scored by Rodri saved Manchester City from a draw and they are increasingly confident at the top of the standings at this time. I had doubts that Manchester City would win this match but anything can still happen, especially for the reigning EPL champions last season. Throughout 90 minutes, Pep Guardiola only made one substitution and that is sometimes a bit risky if the team is in a draw. But indeed the winning mentality for the Manchester City squad is unquestionable and they are doing well so far.

Now it's going to be impressive change for them in coming matches because they are having seven points from three games and in top four teams which have no lost in their three games next game is against Aston Villa at Anfield hopefully they will keep their record best against them as well.

What a good welcome back by Liverpool after conceiving one goal in the first half. A super sub was made which Nunez showed himself as a game changer after he came from the bench to turn the game around for his club. It was one man down and Liverpool was still able to score two goals in the last 13mins of the match. Newcastle couldn't keep up with their performance in the second half,which led to a decline in their performance and Liverpool took that advantage to win the game. Newcastle has lost two games out of three this season. Liverpool has won two and draw one, what a good start for the trophy race.

It wasn't really an easy match for Manchester City, they dominated the match but couldn't score. It was kind of surprising to me, I wasn't expecting Sheffield Utd to even score in the match, but pressure was on Manchester City. Sheffield Utd were able to score one goal towards the end of the match, which made it an equalizing goal, but Manchester City was very lucky to score an additional goal, which makes it Sheffield Utd 1-2 Manchester City. The absence of their coach, Pep Guardiola, really had a negative impact on Manchester City's performance in today's match.

I don't see Manchester City repeating what they did last season of lifting the Premier League or Champions League title this season with their current form. Although the league is still open, there are many matches to play for them to re-strategize and readjust their team formation.

I don't really think that will be possible this season. I am not yet satisfied with Manchester City's performance this season, their performance was better last season than this current season. Manchester City is rearranging their squad, and De Bruyne's absence is also affecting their performance. Manchester City struggled to score in today's match, if De Bruyne was present in the match, then I am sure the match would have been different.

Of course this is a very rare thing to happen. What a comeback!! Klopp must always believe in Nunez, he is extraordinary. Maybe I think what Liverpool have to work on right now is sign a new CB before the next game, whether Van Dijk's red card appeal is successful or not. If Liverpool manages to do that by successfully recruiting a new CB, it will show the club's mentality to challenge for the Premier League title this season. Enough with the poor defending, this should be the last time Liverpool play with 10 men. Because for me to come back with 10 players is a blessing, also credit to Elliot, Jota and Darwin Nunez. I can't watch Manchester City vs Sheffield United anymore, completely one sided game and Sheffield United has no chance to reach Manchester City's defenders, after 70 minutes they've not made any shoot. Even though Manchester City win with big margin against Burnley, but Burnley was able to compete and made few shots. Props to Wesley Foderingham since he have made good saves.

Manchester City completely dominated the entire game against Sheffield United recording 30 shot attempts to 6, 80%-20% possession in the game and also recorded six times Sheffield United’s number of passes. Burnley is a more organized side than Sheffield United and it is expected that Burnley will put up a better performance even though they conceded more goals.

 Like I was surprised, what happened to Newcastle that was leading by a goal at half time, I even thought of them coming back to score more goals but the reverse was the case. Losing to Manchester City last week and today they lost to Liverpool who had only 10 men only the field is just disappointing.
 
 I just have to congratulate Liverpool on their victory because it wasn't easy even Klopp, he felt the heat and the pressure. Last week they won with a man down and today it happened in a more difficult situation, is becoming a habit I tell you. It's been an interesting week for the Premier League. Manchester City made 3 out of 3 to show that they are favorites for the championship again. Liverpool were superb today to win this game after conceding a red card in the 28th minute of the game. I love the spirit and the level of determination they showed against Newcastle United today with a man down and managed to make a come back and finish in a win at full time, this is the kind if spirit I want to see in the Arsenal team. Congratulations to Liverpool for taking all three points with a man down away at St James park, definitely not an easy place to steal such a big win.

Indeed. It was a miracle. Newcastle already lead with 1 goal and Liverpool lost 1 player because Van Dijk got a red card since minute 28'. Playing with 10 player only since minute 28', everyone have judged Liverpool has no chance to win. Moreover, Newcastle really dominated the match, they won more than 60% of ball possession and they made many shot attempts (23 shots). With that situation, no one expects that Liverpool will score 2 goals in second half and win the match. I believe everyone thinks Newcastle will score more goals.

I agree that it is a luck besides they play will good mentality, they never give up until the end of the match. Finally, Liverpool got full points and they are in 4th place temporarily. While for Newcastle, it is another bad result, they got losses in the last 2 matches. So, they are out of the top10 of the EPL standings now. City's level expectations were too high, so the victory over Sheffield felt far below their standards. usually, City would win their game by a big score. but please understand, if the absence of several players makes Pep not use the system that is his mainstay. maybe if De Brunye and Stones have recovered, Pep can return to using his flagship system with his 3-2-4-1 pattern. unfortunately De Bruyne is scheduled to return on Jan 14 2024, while J.Stones will return on Sept 17. so, it seems there are not many options for Pep other than implementing a 4-2-3-1 system.

The point is that City is still consistent in winning the game, even though it's not like Pep Guardiola's expectations. actually in this game City had a lot of chances, they had 30 total shots, 9 shots on target, 4 big chances, 1 hit the post. and should, they could have scored more than two goals. even so, still the result is 3 points. but I'm pretty sure, if Pep will always have another plan and strategy when his team meets stronger opponents. maybe, now City just needs a warm-up like at the start of last season. after that, they were back on fire especially if none of Pep Guardiola's squad were injured.  The competition has just lasted three weeks, there are still many other matches that they will play. let's just follow, how the Premier League presents each match after match every week.

It’s normal to have high expectations for Manchester City, they are the current champions and a difficult side to play against. I anticipated City to win this game comfortably and with 3 plus goal difference but despite having complete dominance in the game. Sheffield United were brave enough to pull one back even though Manchester City finished victorious, I am proud of Sheffield United because they threw a punch that even Burnley couldn’t do.

What I've noticed so far is that Newcastle are weaker against bigger teams and losing against two big teams shows that they might not maintain the top four this season even losing to   Liverpool side that played with 10men that's a disappointing defeat and the coach should definitely be disappointed at his team losing at home to a Liverpool side with 10men.
 After Gordon scored the opener in the 25th minute and Van Dijk also got sent out of the pitch due to a red card,I already concluded that it's finished for Liverpool and expected Newcastle to get more goals since they were more possessive but I became the opposite because they kept missing many chances to win the game and Liverpool with the help of Nunez suprisenly turn the game around in the late minutes of the game, scoring a brace to end the match with a 1-2 win.
