There is nothing wrong with Arteta's tactics, nor is anything inherently wrong with the team. Arsenal have just one problem, and that is Manchester City, the serial winners. Look at Arsenal's stats last season, it was unbelievable, but if you want to take the title from City you have to be perfect, and that might be asking too much from Arsenal.

I don't think so. This Arsenal team lacked the character, the mentality to finish what they started. Place a club like Manchester United or Liverpool were Arsenal was last season and they wouldn't lose that game to Aston Villa. So you want to put the Aston Villa lose on  who now? Pep Guardiola? That's laughable! I know quite well that Josep Pep Guardiola is good but Mikel Arteta should have done better with his squad selection during that game.

This season kicks off in the next six days, yes? I'm still rooting for gunners to win it because Liverpool and Manchester United are not even close to winning shiit.

With a new defender added to Arsenal squad, I'm expecting then to concede less number of goals than they did last season. They don't need to be perfect, they just need to bloody fight for themselves and be consistent. I still believe in my heart, gunners can win it.

If we can be observant enough, Chelsea conceded enough goals from their central back and right back which indicates the incompetence of those players handling those positions. There was lack of communication between them at that defense especially when Thiago wasn't featured in the match, mistakes upon mistakes with same thing happening during this preseason. The one defender who has been top notch the whole season has been Cucurella and they owe him a lot because he delivered on his own part.

Chelsea should work with the defenders they have now and forget buying more, let them build the connection/communication among themselves instead of adding and then lack level of commitment, loosing the ball at critical points will only send the team down the table.

Defense is still a weak point that Chelsea must improve and this was seen not only during pre-season but also in the competition that took place last season. Chelsea did not prioritize these positions to be improved and instead they bought several players who were not quite right last season so there were many positions that did not work optimally when they played. Cucurella showed his best abilities in pre-season but he did not control the defensive position himself without the support of other players.

The coach must try to build good cooperation with the team and they must be able to communicate with each other. Next season the competition will be even tighter as almost most clubs have prepared the strength to compete for the title. If Chelsea returns to maximizing its existing strengths, it is feared that they will not be able to compete.

I agree with you. Chelsea have serious problems in their defense. I am confused why Chelsea increase the number of goalkeepers even though currently there seems to be around 8 goalkeepers in the Chelsea squad. But it seems true what X-ray said, Chelsea increase the number of goalkeepers not only to find the best and strengthen their defense, but to do some business and get profit from the player's price.

How much do you believe in the idea that the Community Shield is not that important for Man City?
The Community Shield is not a big competition but winning the opening match of the season gives the Man City players confidence and gives them a great spirit and will definitely get a good record this season.

I agree with you. Although the Community Shield is not a prestigious trophy, there will still be motivation to get it. By winning the trophy, I think it will increase the players' confidence and will build a champion mentality to start the season well.

One of the reasons why Arsenal didn’t win the league last season was because of the mentality they had, going to Manchester city ground to play for a draw. The mentality they took to Manchester city drowned them. They had the chance to kill the game but they didn’t. They ended up celebrating the draw while Manchester city was disappointed they didn’t beat them.

I think now they have gotten the players they needed, what they need now is the mentality. That mentality is what they need. They
need to go to games with the expectation to win and not just by hope.

And also they’re still going to make defensive errors this season even if the new defender Calafiori turns out to be a hit (because it's a given, defensive errors didn't stop Manchester City from winning the league) and they will still get the short end of the stick if they’re not clinical upfront.

I think Man United was really unlucky and maybe they will lose in this match, but it's not because of the bad results they got in the friendly games, but because they couldn't play with their best squad, and what makes it worrying is that Man United lost many of their defenders.

This trophy is important for both teams, City will want to prove that the defeat in the Cup final was an accident, and for Manchester United it is important to gain confidence at the beginning of the season, although if we evaluate the current state of the teams, I would say that Manchester United has much more problems, in particular due to injuries.

Basically Arsenal became one of the teams that had a high transfer value and thus, it was proven at least in the last two seasons that Arsenal managed to compete for trophies in the Premier League. After all, if for example Arsenal were unable to do that, then Arteta should have been fired. But yes,because so far Arteta has still managed to make Arsenal have a good performance and although there is no trophy obtained by Arsenal, but at least there will  still be a chance for Arsenal to get the best results next season maybe with a trophy too.

But about the big win Arsenal got against Bayer Leverkusen, I personally don't consider it a good or impressive result because after all, they only play in friendly matches that cannot be used as a reference. After all, if you compare the victory against Bayer Leverkusen,then of course Atalanta is still the best, because Atalanta managed to beat Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final,  unlike Arsenal who only won in a friendly match. lol

But even though it was only a pre-season match, I think it's natural that we were all impressed by the game Arsenal displayed in this friendly match. In the first half Arsenal really played very well. They managed to take advantage of opportunities well enough so that they managed to get 3 goals in the first half. Arteta has indeed succeeded in building the Arsenal squad to become stronger every season. And yes, that's why Arteta is very trusted there and in fact I'm sure we all here also really appreciate Arteta who has succeeded in making Arsenal always compete in the race for the title. I think this season Arsenal will probably try to get their hands on the trophy. Because I think they deserve it.

Arsenal are strengthening their squad ahead of the season. These new additions would require adjustment to a new league, and are here to replace aging or injured players who have enjoyed knowledge of the league.
While Manchester City don't have to change last season's squad much except for KDB and where injury forced them. They have time to integrate their new additions.

And also, why do you think that Arsenal will win the league if Manchester City had one of their fewest total points tally last season & Arsenal couldn't usurp them? I predicted Arsenal as second but again I wouldn't be surprised of Liverpool overtakes them as 2nd & there's ample evidence/logic to that.

I think Arteta will have to move differently this season, if he wants to win the league. Arteta needs to make decisions quicker. It takes him like 3-4 games before he arrests a situation.

Manchester City will have periods in the season where they will drop points, Arsenal should be capitalizing on every single slip up. That’s the only way.
