Many were claiming that Manchester United under Michael Carrick would succeed this season and return to greatness. However, the match against Hull City proved that those conclusions were premature.

Of course, United were not that bad overall during the match, but that is still a weak excuse for them. Playing not that bad against a top-tier opponent would be one thing, but not against a newly promoted Premier League side like Hull.

This I the first match of the season so we should, not be too quick to concluded on the fate of a team . Looking at the performance of Manchester united it was not that bad, even though the result didn't go their way. We all know that Carrick is a good manager which is here to change things in Manchester united.

Change doesn't happen immediately, it takes time from the way that I am seeing Manchester united, there is still a lot to do,to a large extent this type of losses is even good to a large extent early in the season because, it will expose your strength and weakness in the team.

Hull City has brought out the areas of deficiencies that is in the Manchester united, setup and I believe that the manager will learn and correct the mistake going forward.

It’s actually crazy today in the premier league games, I see a lot of games that happen far below expectations and this game between Tottenham against Brentford was among them.

Tottenham spent a lot of money in the transfer market this summer, they signed good players but I can see how they were disgraced in their premier league opening match despite all the signings. Three goals to nil is a shocking result I never expected, and it is supposed to 4 goals if Igor Thiago had converted the penalty they got. This is not a good start for De Zerbi, but I know he can improve because he have the players, he needs to put them in place to help the team grow again because they are expecting a lot after signing these players.

Furthermore, I can also see that Manchester United lost their opening match against a newly promoted Hull City; it is also shocking. I hope Chelsea, Manchester City, and Liverpool can give us an interesting performance in their opening matches as well.

Early games and losing against promoted clubs do not look too good but we are just getting off to a good start so this should be a learning for Carrick that even though he did very well last season but there is still no guarantee for him to be able to relax this season.

They just need to improve the finishing because in this game I felt that they were not so bad in terms of possession and initiation but because there was still no good ball supply to the target man and Hull City's solid defence (we have to admit that) made Manchester United lose their momentum to get a goal.
In addition, Manchester United's aerial duel when set pieces occur is bad, 2 goals starting from set pieces set pieces and they always lose in the air duel.

It's not the loss that should be Manchester United problem, it is how easy it was for Hull City to score them, I think the two goals scored against Manchester United were as a result of their defenders switching off and caught Ball watching, the second goal I couldn't get what Harry Maguire was doing, he completely lost track of who he was marking.
Another problem for Manchester United is that they never truly worried Hull City to give them a chance to score.

Another season to ask what the problem is with Tottenham, because I don’t understand the difference between this season and last season. This team barely survived the relegation battle last season. Just look at the way they started the season. Tottenham spends a lot of money gathering players as if they are going to beat every opponent they face this season. De Zerbi has a lot of work to do because nothing has change from what we saw from last season.

To be honest, Tottenham look very promising in the preseason games, they did well throughout the preseason matches. I expect them to start the season with the same quality after signing a top midfielder like Tonali to strengthen their midfield. Tottenham could have conceded more than three goals, but Thiago missed a penalty in 55 minutes to increase the goals.

They are not improving in any way, is not about buying at whatever cost is by making use of them with a better game plan, Roberto De Zerbi has it but what's wrong with them? I think by now they would have gotten past that struggle of last season and make a better come back but still we are seeing that same old Spurs. The players they already have before the new addition of players can still withstand Brentford and is like they only went into the market just because other teams are doing it, now we have De Zerbi to blame until he correct the errors they guys went out their to display. Thiago surprised me when he missed that big opportunity of registering his name on the score sheet but let's not put much pressure on the Brazilian, he'd do better, as for Spurs, they should be ready for this season because if they continue like this, relegation will be their calling.

You know what? I'm going to judge them. This team had half season managed by one manager, they did well and convinced the club to retain Carrick, this is not the time to start playing like they are not ready for the season. If you want to win the league, you need to start and act now, I'm not sure if there is a team that I have seen won the Premier League lose their first entry game in the Premier League, perhaps they exist before but I have not seen it.

Hull city had their first goal in Premier League after 9 years and they scored Manchester United. Let's say the team was not expecting Hull city to play them like they did, what stop them from scoring at least one goal. A team can't be perfect to score a goal in a match and be perfect with defense together but they did stood against them until the full time. There is no assurance that this team is going to do well even by the middle of the season.

It's just sad that I was too busy that I had to skip this wonderful game, however, I just watched a highlight right now and I'm still surprised how Hull managed to win tonight's game against Manchester United, simply because Man-U played well, had the most ball possessions, but the only problem they had in the first half was quality shots on target, and maybe this might have been as a result of over confidence by the Manchester United players as they just start the season, failing to train properly before this game, simply because they thought they could win easily. But to their greatest surprise, Hull was fully ready for them. And I hope Manchester City put their house in other before their forthcoming game against Ipswich Town, because if the are to play the same way they did today, they will also lose. Yes, it's actually too early to judge in-between, since the league is just starting and some teams may prepare poorly due to underrating of the opponent club. Example of it today was match of Tottenham against Brentford, I wasn't actually expecting the Brentford could have the ability defeat Tottenham easily, well that's football for us at times, no one can predict who's going to be a looser. Brentford defeated Tottenham, 3:0.
I love what Arsenal did yesterday in thier matche against Coventry city, starting the season with a great steps ahead, Arsenal's are very good in holding and maintaining positions, and I was impressed with thier patterns of playing this season.

Sincerely speaking Manchester United outing today against Hull City was really a sham, how can you perform so poly against a recently elevated club that is coming from relegation, one thing with the Manchester United team is the fact that they want to still use the same set of players they use in qualifying for the champions League and ending the third position in the premier League to still continue this season instead of buying more players to improve the performance of the team. What I saw this afternoon was exactly the same pattern of play they had ast season, much of improvement was not there.

We might be up for a lot of surprises this season. Manchester United was hailed for their surprising improvement on performance mid season and how they held on that performance since Carrick started managing the team but, that looks as though it’s about to change as it is.
Allowing a recently promoted championship side beat them to 2:0 while keeping their clean sheet, that was a bad start for this team, certainly.

Still can't understand where and how the disappointing part of Manchester United came to existence today of all days the world was expecting a supper performance.
From the beginning of the game Manchester united underestimated the power of a new promoted hull city with out knowing the team they saw is ready to stay in the English Premier league even before the start of the season.

It was actually a surprising performance from Manchester United, we didn't expect such performance from them they lost against weak opponent which is too bad for their start, I thought they will continue maintaining their performance of last season because they ended the season with a good performance. They won’t continue like this, let’s just take this loss today as a mistake and they’ll take responsibility of it and prepare better for their upcoming game again Ipswich Town. Carrick is still not lost it yet, he’s the man for the job and I will still chose him more over again for the manger role of Manchester United over other managers that have managed Manchester United recently. Losing is part of the game, they just need to take advantage of that loss into making them prepare well for what’s coming ahead for them. I think we should give this team a chance, the season just got started, it’s a project that Roberto De Zerbi is building, new signings are in place and they need to adapt to the playing style of the team.

Let’s give them a chance as the season progresses, but I must say that Spurs is a very terrible team at this point, I have been disappointed the way they have been playing since last season, losing that 3 nil would be outrageous to their supporters, who wasn’t expecting such a horrible performance.

You still imagine a draw on a 3nil defeat! The most gamblers expected of this team was for Spurs to come up with a goal at least, put up some fight but that wasn’t forth coming either. 4 shots on target and none found the back of the net, that wasn’t okay.
Brentford had it way easy to work their way right into the goalkeeper’s box and score their first goal in just 12minutes of game play. Second and third goal came from the goalkeeper’s singular mistake, not being able to punch the ball way out of his box and each time, their is always a Brentford player to send it right into the goal.

Football is a game of entertainment we shouldn't expect all the big boys to win games because it's the first game of the league, and there is no way we can stop seeing surprising result in football game. Arsenal won and counted there 3 points manchester united and Tottenham Hotspur has zero point and zero goal, people expected Carrick to win this game Hull hasn't been in the league for long now and they just came and win manchester united 2-0, there will be pressure on Carrick if he fails to win his next game.
Am not expecting much from those 3 teams, i think they all have new coaches this season they may still not give a play or could still play well in there first game.

Arteta's performance yesterday shows a huge comeback for the title, but the league is as though smaller teams would perform stronger and better than most big teams. Judging from the strength of Hull city yesterday, some big clubs can't withstand them, it's not all of Man U's fault that they lost yesterday's match, the red didn't just match up with the increased strategy from the hulls. I see this season as the finest and most natural of all premier league seasons, some clubs like Man city, and Man U, including Arsenal, won't have to play with any immunity, if they're not careful they'll lose a lot of points.
