They had the comeback, but Manchester City did not look promising at all. They struggled most of the game and would have easily lost this game. There is a lot of work to be done in that team, the supporters do not need to be excited by this win.

Supporters have every reason to be excited by this victory, it is a good thing they were able to turn the tides around in their favour. Do you know how many of the supporters who won their bet because of that last minute winner?

You're right, I don't think Manchester City are promising enough this season, they're not the same anymore.
I like Manchester CIty because of Pep Guardiola's tactics, but when he left it didn't feel like a team I had to rely on to win the Premier League title.

You are already comparing so much after just the first game of the EPL season, do you not take into account that the two playmakers Bernardo and Rodri already left and E. Maresca is rebuilding the team again from scratch?

I am an advocate of giving a coach some time to prove what he can do, this is only the second game in charge and he already recorded a victory. No two coaches are the same, each has their own tactics and marasca should be given the time to perfect his tactics in Manchester City. With the win today, I don't think he's doing so bad already.

What a perfect prediction but greed couldn't allow you to go for a single bet. You just wasted 11 odd when you should have just go with that one bet and take home x10 of your wager. Maybe your were not so sure that they will end in 2:2 draw.

Liverpool wouldn't have won that match because Newcastle is always a difficult team for them coupled with the fact that Andoni Iraola is still trying to fix the team after Arne Slot almost turned them into an average club.

Chelsea will play against Fulham tomorrow, it's likely going to be a draw game because Fulham have grown to become an average team in the EPL and both Fulham and Chelsea finished with same points last season, the match will also take place in the home of Fulham so they have all the advantages but Chelsea will manage to get a point so we should expect a tie in that match.

Man City were too lucky to win there opening game against Bournemouth. This victory reminds me of Argentina victory over Egypt in recent world cup. Egypt were leading 2-0 till 78th minute of the game, Argentina scored 3 goals in last 15 minutes to seal the victory. Likewise Man City scored 2 goals in last ten minutes of the game to record their first victory of the season. This defeat is because of Bournemouth poor defence towards the end of the game and highlights how important your defence is even if you are close to victory.

I wouldn't exactly say that Maresca "is rebuilding the team again from scratch" because a lot of Guardiola's player are still there: Donnarumma, Ruben Dias, Gvardiol, Foden, Haaland... But I do agree that this is not the same team as it used to be. I don't think they've been able to replace a player like De Bruyne for example. Bernardo Silva is another huge loss. And of course Maresca will play in a different way. Let's give him time and let's see.

I will be hoping it goes that way but Liverpool in the last five meetings have won more than Newcastle United. Without no Eddie Howe, I expect the new guy to fumble at this very beginning, so my second bet slip saw me predicting a 1-2  win for Liverpool.

It is going to be two new coaches against each other, the only difference being that the Liverpool coach has better experience in the Premier League from his former club, and that will give him an upper hand in this fixture as the Newcastle new coach has never coached in the Premier League before and this is new learning stage for him.

I think Liverpool will win based on the experience of the coach and the expectation that the fans have for their team to start the season on a high note.

I think the only difference about the Liverpool vs Newcastle United match today is that we're yet to understand the great potential that Matthias Jaissle has as a manager based on his previous performance before he moved to Newcastle, and how he led Red Bull Salzburg to get to the UEFA Champions league knockout stage for the first time ever.
I won't be surprised if Matthias Jaissle happens to be one of the respected managers in the English league.

Liverpool was lucky today because it was a narrow escape from losing all three points as the dying minutes goal came through a penalty kick and Szobozolai didn't waste time to score the penalty kick to save the day. Newcastle put up a good fight today and they got all the chances of winning the game but they allowed it slip off their hands. However, they both deserve sharing points. The game ended 2-2 draw.

With the players that Aston Villa have lost, this kind of poor performance is expected at the start of the season, but I was not expecting them to have this much goal scored against them But now the huge question I'm asking myself is if the coach will be able to remain coach of Aston Villa if this poor performance continue, or if he will get sacked or quit the job out of courtesy for someone else to take over.

I guess that you bet on Aston villa to beat Brighton, I guess that is why you are angry that Aston villa lost to Brighton. But it isn't proper to judge unai Emery because he lost 4:0 against Brighton, moreover this is Aston villa first match of the season, they still have other games to play, so losing a single match shouldn't be a good reason to judge them. Unai Emery is a great coach he is the best coach Aston villa has ever had in their history so they won't sacked him just because he lost his first match. So what would you say about Manchester United and Tottenham that lost their matches yesterday, so does it mean that those coaches should resign from there jobs because they couldn't win their first matches of the season.

It was really interesting to watch Manchester City's comeback, after being 0-1 down for 84 minutes, to come back to win 2-1 in just 10 minutes was incredible. Such a struggling match in the first match of the season at their home ground was not expected at all. In the first week, no team except Arsenal could see the expected performance. We can expect such an unexpected performance from Chelsea. If Chelsea loses a point, a group of people will definitely start criticizing Xabi Alonso.

The result of the Liverpool match surprised me quite a bit. Liverpool somehow managed to avoid defeat by scoring a penalty in the last minute of extra time. It must be said that Liverpool was very lucky. On the other hand, Newcastle must be regretting it now, and if they had survived the match for just 1-2 minutes, they could have started the season with a win.

Mistake you made, you would have gone all out for that sweet odd, how I wise.
Liverpool are still the same as of how they played last season, nothing new, attacking and coming back with nothing and they were very lucky to have gotten that late draw. Slot hasn't gotten a better way to make the team to be fast as they used to be in the time of Klopp. Seriously if Liverpool continues in this manner I don't think they can get into the top 4 not to talk of them stopping whoever is going to win the league title.
For Chelsea I still fear for them because of what we have seen the big boys play, they could lose or even draw Fulham tomorrow, the club too is going through a hard time in getting that perfect style of play, if you are to go for them for a straight win I think it would be a bad idea.

Watching Liverpool attacking in this first half isn't promising at all, they're just pressing and having no precision at all. I can say they're just running around aimlessly at the pitch. Newcastle is playing a more matured football here. Newcastle defenders aren't afraid of their attacks any longer, it's more likely that they know it would result to a waste. Iraola should better change tactics or make some changes in the second half, if they continue like this, Newcastle might probably extend their lead in the second half. Not only in the first half but also in the entire match, no attack was promising. Liverpool's performance was not predictable. In today's match, Liverpool controlled the ball a lot but could not finish it. Seeing such a messy game by Liverpool, Newcastle became very confident by scoring a goal at the beginning. As a result, the defense started to play a little weak in the 55th minute. Gakpo easily caught that weakness and was able to score a goal with a great shot from outside the box. Due to the equalizer, Newcastle immediately strengthened their defense. Newcastle scored a goal in the next two minutes with a wonderful attack. From the 2-1 position, Liverpool started to get pressured over time.

Liverpool controlled the ball for most of the match, they could not break Newcastle's defense and score a goal. Newcastle stopped several counter attacks with great experience. Finally, Liverpool got a penalty suit because of a foul in the last-minute attack going inside the box. And they scored another goal in the last minute to draw the match 2-2. Although Liverpool can control the ball well, they need to work more on their finishing weaknesses.

Such a terrible performance from Liverpool, Liverpool doesn’t deserve a draw in this game, they should have lost the game so they will understand the situation of the bad management they’re operating at Anfield.

Liverpool are lacking players in a priority area in the pitch, this team needs a defensive midfielder, you can’t be playing all 3 attacking midfielders, the team needs a holding midfielder to protect the defense, the two double pivot of Gravenberch and Szoboszlai isn’t working.

They need to also get two wingers, RW and LW, I don’t know why they’re wasting time in signing Bradley Barcola, and Yakubah Minteh if they’re really interested in those players.

Richard Hughes needs to start acting fast about signing players, there is just less than two weeks left in the Transfer Window.

Even though Liverpool did not get full three points in today's game, I will say that I was impressed with the performance of the team. We should not forget that Liverpool struggled for a greater part of last season, and is just trying to get back to form, don't forget that this is a new era as they are under a new coach. I believe that as the season continue Liverpool is definitely going to pick form.


For the fact that, Liverpool was able to score two goals shows that they there is a lot of potential that I see in Liverpool this season. The problem that I see from fans of the premier league is that they except a lot from their teams,especially the top once . They can pick up later, even teams like Liverpool and evil Manchester United have not performed very convincingly in their first game alongside Manchester City, they can all pick up better later on in the season and still give Arsenal who stand as the title defenders a chase for the title.  The first game does not define the whole season for some teams like that.
The next team to look forward to is Chelsea, the performance of many of the other teams have been very below the standard expected to give Arsenal challenges for the trophy, Chelsea has to give us some hope that Arsenal will not have an easy cruise to the trophy.

Aston Villa must be so stupid for not making their squad become formidable by signing more players since they will be playing in the Champions League, instead they sold the ones that could have helped them continue with same form they had last season. Unai Emery should better resign before the team will begin to blame him for their misfortune. He tried by winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions league game, he has done enough and instead of him to continue it will be better he walks out. I believe that correct score is the hardest to predict correctly in game betting, gambling is really crazy if it was a single game it would have been better but now the effort to predict the correct score has been wasted because other games with even less odd has made the correct score meaningless, I will say games with bigger odds like this should be play on a single slip so that other smaller odd won't come to spoil the whole effort.
