Nobody's ever been arrested for sending Unobtanium.  But the government will probably get around to that eventually.

Welcome runpaint! How did you get into UNO?

folding@home-> curecoin-> bitcoin-> exchanges-> bitcointalk, and a lot of research into which few coins are worth the investment.

Billions of coins?  No thanks.  1000% stake rewards?  Lol.  Scarce supply?  Yes please.

This guy here, this guy gets it! lol! That is pretty much right. Out of ALL the other coins out there, oddly enough, very few offer what Uno does.

We can't grow when we won't criticize ourselves!

Australian Economic Update:

as we rely (too) heavily on exports of coal and iron ore, the drop in the prices of these has been a shock. Front page of the ‘Australian’ today concerned the serious and immediate impact that falling oil prices are having on various industries.

Real-estate prices are clearly dropping. Interest-rate cuts – a la Canada – are forthcoming.

Support Your Markets

Just a thought:  when UNO moves, there just might be some low-hanging fruit left on the lesser-voluminous exchanges.  Perhaps even on the DOGE/LTC/Other UNO pairs, hmm...?

Maybe even pick some exchange and/or pair that is underutilized, and make that your market.  With a little patience, you can make any market work for you.  You might even learn a few new trading skills.

You could even be the new Robin Hood, withdrawing from Megawallet, and distributing the prize in wisely-limited measure to all your favorite peeps on other exchanges.

I'm hearing rumors this coin would be the last straw for cryptocoins in the event of failure of bitcoin which becomes more likely every day. What does the community think about this statement?
And why is it still so relatively cheap if that was true?

First, welcome to the thread! We're glad you're here!

Second, let me say that I am agreement with your statement, because of $UNO's unique characteristics, it is an excellent cryptographic backstop for when BTC ultimately fails.  For anecdotal purposes, I always like to ask new thread members how they came to be familiar with Unobtanium, our favourite coin. How did you come to know $UNO?

While I do not believe myself personally qualified to answer your second question, I know that others will promptly respond.

It's more expensive than Bitcoin was, when Bitcoin was the same age.  All it takes is time, survival, more users, reward halving; and at this point everything is right on track.  Altcoins are beginning to die faster than they're being made, so once the herd thins out for another year or two, there will be only a few quality coins still running.  When Unobtanium is 4 years old, people will be more likely to choose it over a new unproven clone coin, and people will stop making so many bad coins because nobody will be interested anymore.  When there are only a few coins left, each coin will get a greater percentage of all crypto market capitalization.

Of course, people will still make new altcoins, and some of them will still catch on.  Years from now, we will roll our eyes when our teenagers buy a new coin sponsored by billionaire pop singer Honey Boo Boo.  We will tell them how we've seen it all, premine is a scam, but they'll say Unobtanium is for rich old farts who don't understand the younger generation.  We'll try to teach them the value of a hard-earned Doge, but they'll have to learn the hard way.  And maybe they'll make some money staking their Honey Boolberry and prove us wrong.

Good question, B.C. Knowing this can help us explain ourselves to others.

Why is Uno so cheap? I wonder if the dominant speculative madness of 2014 made a currency that 'only' stores wealth relatively uninteresting.

Uno continues it's ascent on CoinMarketCap.

.... is it that Uno is retaining value, and other coins are sliding past us?  Sometimes it's difficult to tell.  It seems that the crypto elevator is descending while Uno just holds it's place around $500k.  This valuation has been a fairly typical  marketcap for Uno onver the past year (Wolong pump excepted).

I don't think Uno is overvalued relative to USD. People are just starting to rediscover Unobtanium.

Anyone who does research at all on crypto value retention over the past year will find Uno at the top of their screen.

I'm a little concerned at how little Uno is on the market right now.  A bit more availability would be welcoming.

FK, I understand your concern. It becomes difficult to make the market in this situation.

I do believe that UNO adopters have realized its value well ahead of the curve and are less willing to part with it at low prices. We may be entering a time period of massive spreads until the rest of crypto comes to the same realization that many of us did long ago in that BTC is on a downward spiral.

Hopefully, it will move the entire market trading bands up closer to where they belong.

I do believe that UNO is attracting more, well-deserved, attention based upon the new thread participants here as well as other places.

In any event, the turtle continues his slow and steady climb to the top of the coinmarketcap!

With great amounts of Uno comes great responsibility.

As someone who has watched many cryptos die for lack of interest (too many count any more, but I still have several of them on life support in my crypto museum), I well understand the value of a community. Community asserts demand.  Making sure that new members can acquire a reasonable stake is in the best long term interest and valuation of Uno, imo.   Newcomers will shun a dead and illiquid market, and that doesn't produce demand. The more people with a financial & emotional attachment to Uno, the better for Uno long term, and the better for the value of Uno.

There's supply in the 0.0130's, but the regulars either haven't figured out the price of Unobtanium is now a lot higher than they are used to, or they've spent their weekly allowance, already.

How i found Uno? I knew longtime it existed and always had some in my portfolio. It has never been a disappointment so far. Recently is dawned on me Bitcoin is just too plentiful to be worth a lot. And now look again at UNO as it shows some remarkable performance in comparison.

The question 'why so cheap?' has apparently become obsolete  Cheesy

Maybe we can really see some sort of migration to this coin soon.

"Newcomers will shun a dead and illiquid market"

Transactional volume! The bulk of Uno may be HODL-ed while the rest spends it time serving the 'currency function.'

I'm hittin' my local supermarket with a $100 Uno-purchased gift card on Monday morning.

At a higher price more coins could come to the market again. Right now you have to sell yours, i can't sell mine, sorry  Grin

Low supply is a specialty of this coin. So what do you expect?  Roll Eyes

It's illiquid on the sellside because the price the buyers make is just ridiculus. There can still be coins had on cryptsy if you're not looking for a ton or more.

Because value is potentially unlimited people will be as happy with 5$ coins as they will be with3$ coins. And later people will buy for 10$ gladly. At 50$ it's still a bargain.
