I voted for Manchester City the season before last and then Chelsea last season. What does that tell you about me? 

Tells me that you're loyal only to your local club and a neutral football fan outside your local.  the best I could come up with.

I doubt the sale would have gone ahead unless Alonso sanctioned it. If Alonso did not want him then he should have been sold but if the sale was without his consent, I think it will strain the relationship with the owners before the first match is even played.

That could be the case but I'm speaking from a fan view - the players we've sold are the decent ones any manager would like to work with and I find that strange. I don't think Alonso is the one behind all of this since no one want like to lose some of the best players on the team to other top clubs.

That being said; Alonso has started training sections with the available players.

If memory serves correct, Real Madrid recently put out a statement to end rumours about them having an interest in Enzo. If Real Madrid are not interested in him (and no other club has made any offers), he will be staying and the same applies to Palmer too. it will be refreshing for the Premier League to have a manager such as Alonso, I hope he has success at Chelsea because the club really need stability and as Alonso is highly respected by players it might be a good decision to hire him.
