These are the results of the games that took place yesterday Sunday 1st April:

Arsenal 2-1 Fulham
Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 West Ham United
Nottingham Forest 1-0 Manchester United

Saka scored on his return from injury as he helped Arsenal beat Fulham. Wolves beat West Ham and the three points pushes them further away from the relegation zone.

Elanga scored a brilliant goal to give Nottingham Forest all three points. Manchester United seemed to be pushing for an equaliser but did not get it, they even had a shot cleared off the line by a defender. Nottingham Forest are almost certain to qualify for the Champions League.

Dunno about those guys as they've already managed the club.  But between the two, I'd like to see Pellegrini back if the Man City brass was really considering the both of them.  I like his more direct style in creating chances.  Never a boring  game with Aguero at the helm.

But as the club wants to keep moving forward, there are three candidates that come to mind...  Arteta, Xabi Alonso and Kompany.  I fancy they'd even consider Julian Nagelsmann.

We've seen managers return to their former teams, however Pellegrini and Mancini's styles of play may be considered outdated, and the owners may prefer to hire someone fresh and with a current football concept.

Asking Arteta out of his current position isn't going to be easy unless he get sacked before Pep leaves.

Outdated or not, I know that Mancini will not be asked or even be considered to return to the club ever again.  Pellegrini tho...  He could be called up again if the club needs a place holder manager.    And yeah, only to be shooed away again when their real target agrees to a deal. 

As for Arteta, his contract with Arsenal ends at 2027...  Same year as the end of Guardiola's contract at City.    Be on the look out if Arteta signs a new deal with Arsenal.

If Manchester United win the Europa League they automatically get a place in the Champions League next season. Their form had been improving in the Premier League until the loss away at Nottingham Forest yesterday but are/were well below expected levels.

Nottingham Forest has proven that a complete team overhaul can work, and they did so in less than two seasons; they narrowly escaped the bottom of the table last season, fired their manager, and voila!!  They will play in the Champions League again after more than three decades. 

A big lessons to Chelsea too that all they need is a manager to fix the puzzles and start competing again.

Manchester united has good chance of pushing to the Europa league final, I hope they don't win it. They can't  get into another European football through the back door.

Right now I don't think what we need is another manager, what we need are players especially a proven striker that can get us goals. That's what we're lacking now. At the start of the season, we were getting them but all of a sudden the goals began to lack. From the looks of things, we might just not be ready to compete for the champions league as we haven't gotten our shit together. The team still need some retouching with better players being signed to the club. We playing Tottenham at home today, we own them normally and it shouldn't be a difficult game for we to kill off as soon as the game starts. We don't have to hold back because we need to keep up with nothingham and distance ourselves from Man city. My only worry, we lack goal when playing at home this season.

Nottingham Forest managed to do it all on a mediocre budget too. It just goes to show smaller clubs can get it right if they invest in the right players using a combination of bargain buys as well as taking players on loan.

They appointed Nuno Espírito Santo as manager in December 2023 and could have been relegated in the final game of last season but had a win away at Burnley to finish 17th. Now they are trying to finish as runners-up in the most competitive league in the world.

Without doubt Nottingham Forest deserve credit for what they have achieved this season.

That's historically long for him as he stayed at Barca for just 4 years and at Bayern Munich for just 3 years.  Both not really that long but mostly the average length in modern football.

Bournemouth missed the opportunity to keep their Champions League hopes alive by being beaten at home by Ipswich Town. Brighton suffered a big home defeat by Aston Villa.

Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea secured another important win but it looks as though the Tottenham fans have decided to they want Postecoglou as they were chanting "You don't know what you are doing".

The same was said about Pep Guardiola back in the day.    That he's a noob, he isn't ready to manager a huge club like Barca and overall he just isn't a manager good enough to take on the reigns of the great Barcelona...  Not saying that Kompany will surely be doing it like Guardiola.  But saying that he doesn't have a chance or he's def out if the conversation?  Lol.  I mean we're just guys from the outside looking in.  What do we really know?

If Txiki and Soriano pull the trigger on Kompany and get him on, they prolly know something we don't.

Chelsea fans have become used to high expectations because of what happened under the Abramovich era especially when they were dominant under Mourinho but those times and that era has ended. Towards the end of the Abramovich era, Chelsea were already far away from where they wanted to be. I suppose I can understand why Boehly spent phenomenal amounts of money to buy players but most of those choices have been failures.

If Chelsea manage to find a good manager that controls who will be bought and sold and forces the club to understand the rule, it will be a good partnership because Chelsea have the money to buy any player they want but they need a strong character in a manager that will stand his ground. Maybe Maresca is the one who can do those things but he needs to given time.

We're only onlookers who've seen Kompany manage two teams in three years, but my concern is not his success, but how his teams play; I've seen Bayern play a few times in the CL this season, as well as some league games, and they don't even play any special type of football, just some counter-attacking football.  Still young and plenty of time to grow, but I believe we could see another Lampard- Chelsea situation at Manchester City.

Yes we paid a really good sum for him so they owners aren't going to throw him away through the window just after one season; he has said it several times that the owners only ask him to build a team to challenge for a TOP 4 for next season and so far he already exceeded expectations for the season.

The team are already competing for the TOP 4 in his first season and they gave him two years to achieve that.

You would expect Liverpool and Tottenham to win their respective games. As for the Manchester derby, this one has a victory for Manchester United written all over it therefore if Chelsea get three points away at Brentford it will be a fantastic result for Maresca that will keep them firmly in the hunt for a Champions League spot.

In my opinion, if Guardiola and his Manchester City team lose today they will finish the season without Champions League qualification. Even f they win, they will struggle to ensure they play Champions League football next season.

The team are already competing for the TOP 4 in his first season and they gave him two years to achieve that.

I like Maresca. He was inexperienced as a manager yet took on the job at Chelsea and had to deal with big egos within the dressing room as well as the media pressure associated with the club. He has done very well.

Nottingham Forest dropped points at Aston Villa therefore the chase for the Champions League places is exciting. Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City and even Brighton are all trying to make it.

As for Arsenal, I am not sure if Everton should have been given a penalty but once again Moyes deserves credit for managing the team and Arteta should accept he got his tactics wrong.
