In mine fuel price has increased very much, and fuel pricing in my country is the beckon or focal point for other commodities/goods and services pricing, this is like, the fuel price is directly proportional to other commodities/service pricing,
This effect is not due to the corona virus pandemic, but corrupt government are using the corona virus as an excuse for economic depression.

food is at an average price right now in my country, thanks to local farmers the only food increase are those imported into the country because government don't support local agriculture and don't harness it's powers to make food even cheaper,
Harnessing local produce make the difference.

Good for us there is no price hike since the government has frozen all the prices to avoid opportunist business owners take advantage of the situation. Glad that DTI monitors and broadcast all the suggested retail prices to let the people if they are buying just as good as if there is no pandemic. Once a business found that they are increasing prices, people can always report them and make them closed as soon as possible. I remember the first week of pandemic, people are selling face mask double/triple its actual price. tsk.

buying local products helps the local economy. unfortunately local products in my country is much pricey than the imported. asians are more of rice but the local rice in my country is  not really bought by the locals, its the imported rice from Vietnam and Indonesia are the ones very much cheaper.

this is one of the most interesting in our country because the rich guys controls almost every thing from law makers to businesses. if they say they can import products, they will massively do it leaving local farmers begging for support. but the businessmen are buying these local rice for cheaper price.

international rice institute in asia is found in our country by the way. interesting fact.  Grin

As we can see, food prices have skyrocketed almost all over the world this summer. The reason is simple - incredible demand. This demand arises when people are unsure about the future. In addition, the bulk of people bought cheaper products, while the expensive segment remained on the shelves. Also, in my country during the quarantine period, markets were closed, food could only be bought in supermarkets. Because of this, the competition for the buyer, which held back the price increase, disappeared.

When i have time i go to local market to check prices

Vegetable prices doubled
Fruit prices doubled
Meat prices around 30% increase
Grain products around 20% increase
...

And my country is a exporter of food products

How is it in your country ? Same ?

30% isn't de double at all...

Here in my country the food prize went up un the first half of the year, but the problem was the distribution, since it was the start of the virus then all the distribution companies take a break, and that bring chaos to the prizes.

The most affected market was the beer, people were paying 4 times the real price of it. But now all come back to normal.

Fortunately, in my country the increase in food products is not too high, it is probably around 5% -10% increase after I checked with
the local market. Because my country is indeed a country with quite a lot of plantations and livestock, so we lack a supply of food products.
Moreover, the government in my country is moving fast enough to provide stimulus assistance to the food sector. so the price of food
products in my country is relatively stable. Moreover, working on the farm, plantations and livestock are safer from the spread of the
COVID19 pandemic, compared to working in offices. So that sector is not subject to quarantine.

~
Inflation is the reason why prices of foods are increased.

Because some of the countries are continuously creating money to protect their economy, inflation also rises too causing the prices to go up. In our country, I don't see that foods increased its price that much as the inflation here isn't increased that huge and some of the foods decreased its price too particularly the chicken meats.

Since the pandemic started the demand on food high. Some food company had to stop their production and only few vehicles can travel, so transporting food from places to places is just limited which makes rhe total supply lower. Almost all the prices went up since the pandemic started, and I guess everyone around the globe is experiencing this.

I am not surprised the prices of things especially food items increased because since international movement was restricted, importation and exportation paused, only countries that doesn't import either Agrochemicals, food, or any AgroAllied material will have the increase controlled. All those goods became costlier even the stored one so definitely it will affect the end product since the cost of production increased, to worsen the matter, the weather also changed in disfavor of crop production.

This is actually what we are experiencing here in my country at this strange time. Inflation rate on food products rose higher recently to about 5-8%. Its really sad to know that a lot of people couldn't afford to buy foods now because of being jobless and they were running out of money from their pocket. That is why you can see a lot of starving people anywhere and poverty become more worst.

Almost all countries have increased food prices significantly for the simple reason that COVID19 is translated. Everyone was home and the demand for food increased more than usual while economic activity declined. The price increase mainly came from food shortages caused by the pandemic.
In our country, although food prices have increased, it is not counted because the government has regulated the economy and has taken measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic. There have been no cases of COVID 19 infection in Vietnam in the past two weeks since the second pandemic outbreak.

There has been a General increase in price since the beginning of the year - an average of 30% for a General grocery receipt, if you compare a receipt from a hypermarket in January and now.
But the caveat is that local products do not grow in the price, only price (who could be surprised by this heh) for imported goods are growing.
So I try to buy local producers, so the overall result of the difference in prices is not as noticeable as if I were buying all the same things.
This rise in price is quite an obvious result of the world's covid stagnation. I think that prices should soon return to normal.

This is the result of pandemic. Inflation rate rises and as we all know that if this continue the value of money will get low as it will no more needed and money does not have the capacity to buy. Hopefully we will not come to that point wherein survival will be the scene and people are hungry everywhere.

So sad, that this is the becoming effect of the pandemic but still politician continue to do their business and were very busy on how to get away or to get in the funds of the people without getting caught. In short a legit corruption that will enable them to get money through ghost peojects.

As an exporting country of food products and noticing the increase in the prices of these rubles is worrying for anyone.

In my country we have inflation and prices in all sectors have been increasing, especially in this time of pandemic. Like you, I am also concerned about the increase in food prices because it affects the most vulnerable people, and without employment.

I hope that we will overcome this pandemic soon because there will be famine in countries with high poverty rates.

Lol, the price of general goods got doubled in few months? That is insane! I mean how does that even happen unless the government messed up some how? Are people earning more right now than before or is it just the price of the goods that went up? Sounds like a very bad inflation is about to hit your country. Start investing in golds or at least bitcoins to save your money!

And my country is a exporter of food products

I doubt they are going to be an exporter of food anymore.

Food prices have risen so much because of the effects of the epidemic it exists all over the world with everything locked down the rate of productivity including imports and exports has plummeted. Poor farmers have not been able to cultivate properly due to lack of adequate funds but everything has come down a lot from before will be resolved by the end of this year.

We are lucky in the UK, as some prices are dropping, and we seem to be drifting back to an improvement in quality. Brexit is starting to make a difference, and this will only get better if we get what we voted for, and that is a clean break with the EU, and a return to WTO terms. Maybe we can start to regrow some of our traditional foods as well. The EU made us burn a lot of our wonderful apple trees, so that they could push French pappy apples onto us, and of course they made us burn our fishing boats so that they could catch our fish, and sell them back to us at much higher prices. Fish and chips with peas is £3.60 here in the Asda cafe, and last year it would have cost £5 or £6 if I remember correctly. A lot of our food seems to be coming from non-EU sources, so obviously we are able to buy at competitive prices in the world markets.

I think these are alarming news and we all need to prepare our self's for the worst. Most of the developed nations are not self-sufficient in terms of food supply. Especially in Europe a lot of countries rely heavily on importing food across the world. What if prices keep increasing and we won't be able to important all the food we need?
I am already growing done fruits like apples and various berries myself, even some tomatoes and salad but this just kit enough to self sufficient. It takes a lot of land to grow the amounts to support a family.

The inflation of food prices in the local market are not just happening in few countries but in most of the countries today even if we are facing this pandemic crisis. Although it can be said inevitable, but here in my country prices are closely monitored by the government so that those affected people can still buy good foods in the market without paying such a high price. There might be price increase but i would say they are still manageable.
