Obviously there are nations that didn't get affected by this and I understand it, because in some nations people are more developed and know how to act and in those nations pandemic numbers weren't really all that much, and in the ones that was huge but the country is still a developed nation they realized the mistakes and they managed to fix things up.

However in underdeveloped countries with idiotic government things weren't as nice, I have seen so many nations where people die in thousands and people still walked without masks on the streets. So long story short, just because you weren't affected and the food prices stayed the same in your nation doesn't mean that the same thing happened in every nation, some countries were hit a lot harder and those places had higher food prices.

When the allotment is less than the appetite for a commodity, there is a shortage of the commodity. Such as - Food. At present, due to this pandemic situation, food supply is less than the demand in almost all the countries. So the price of food is going up. We pay for it because there is an abundance of food.

Most of the country got affected by it. Mostly those countries which import food from the other countries affected hardly. This countries which produces foods are not exporting it becasue due to the lockdown the production has been affected and to feed their own citizen they need to store it. Though things are getting normal now the agricultural farm and industiers were first to allowed to open during the lockdown.

Only the rich guys are able to survive the lockdown, because they buy whatever foods they want and stock up without stress. Not the same for the poor, lol.

There is no need to buy costly food these time of pandemic, let's support local. Buy at locals. In my country some foods and vegetables in Highlands where just thrown due to oversupply and no market dueto quarantine. To avoid these problem there is a need for cooperation of locals to support whats within their country, its much cheaper than buying imported for and it can sustain many lives not just for the rick. Only strategy in living is needed to be done

Of course that is natural because this pandemic, productivity decreases and causes the amount of supply to decrease, thus making the price of goods rise,
still better than no supply at all.
it's not just your country, maybe almost all countries are affected.
I am sure the government will always prepare a way to handle it.

Each country will meet an inflanation per years, the money will fall in value due to all the price stuff will be high. It has happened in my country, even at this time when the crisis economic situation the government still didn't do anything. Moreover, my country is dependent to another country especially chinese, I'll find a lot of chinese's product rather my country produck. And yeah that is a bad situation, we just depend on them.

I doubt that all countries experience a double increase in food prices, because inflation and policies of each country are different.
So of course not all countries have doubled the price of food. The increase in food prices this year is quite high compared to the
previous year, maybe the cause of the COVID-19 pandemic which cannot be stopped at this time.

In our country, price inflation was really huge. This pandemic brought us opportunists, they sell their products thrice the original price. They always say that even their suppliers made the reseller's price higher than the usual. I'm not really against the inflation but somehow I'm just irritated to the fact that some resellers makes the price higher so much, they know that it's pandemic so economy is down, yet they still grabs the opportunity to sell their products in high prices.

There have been some price increases around supply disruptions, but on the whole I would categorize prices as relatively stable.  That is, of the ones that have increased, they reached a new equilibrium quickly and have not continued going up, and the increase is not so much that it is off-putting.  20% or 30% is very high, I haven't noticed anything that drastic.

In my country, what is happening right now is low inflation, which leads to deflation (minus inflation). Before the pandemic, deflation will occur 3-4 months after the month of Ramadan, but this year deflation is occurring faster, which was preceded by low inflation in the month of Ramadan 2020. This is the result of decreased demand and money circulation stemming from a decrease in economic activity due to COVID-19, so the amount of money in circulation is not much. The movement of inflation in my country is decreasing, which is a sign of decreasing purchasing power and weak domestic consumption.

yes, especially food contains vitamin C such as orange, avocado, pineapple, and lemon.
as the rumor said that Corona can be killed by consuming a lot of vitamin C
The statement itself is partially true, Vitamin C does make your immunity stronger but at the same time excess can cause problems , what's needed is a balanced diet and all the vitamins taken into consideration too.

<...>
Well, I think it's safer to say that Vitamin C makes our immunity strong and helps us avoid the virus rather than 'Vitamin C can kill the virus'. But I understand that it's just a rumor as you have said. I'm just saying, tho.

Anyway, with regards to the prices of food, some food products indeed doubled their prices. It's probably due to the current situation we are facing right now. But luckily, here in our town, our Mayor advised those sellers to maintain the suggested retail price or just increase with few cents because all of us is in a crisis and there are many people who have lost their jobs, who cannot afford a huge increase in prices of food products. It was a great consideration.

Fake demand created due to the overstaking when pandemic announced is one of the reason for price increase of basic needs like groceries, veggies and meat and that leads to a chain since the production is lowered and not enough product in the hand to supply. But now inflation made the purchasing power of our money weaker so the prices are likely to stay in the higher price for years.

People like them do not deserve to live in society and the government should be firm in addressing the problem.  Those who raise their prices by cheating should be sentenced to life in prison.  So that something like that doesn't happen again.

When i have time i go to local market to check prices

Vegetable prices doubled
Fruit prices doubled
Meat prices around 30% increase
Grain products around 20% increase
...

And my country is a exporter of food products

How is it in your country ? Same ?

I don't know in which country you are residing, but here in India the prices have actually gone down after the pandemic. Meat prices (I am talking about mutton and chicken) have reduced by around 20%, while the grain (rice/wheat) prices have remained the same. And I haven't noticed any increase in the prices for fruits and vegetables. Even the milk/egg prices have remained at the same level.

The same here in my country. The moment when the COVID started to spread, the seller increases the price for the products with higher demands just like face masks, alcohols, and others. What's more irritating is that they hoard products to sell it at a higher price but after some months, they started lowering the prices because of lesser demands. It's the same with foods, compare to its previous prices, it increases although I understand that it's hard to part of the seller because they have limited time and customers due to the protocols. At the end of it, it's always the end consumer who will suffer from price inflation.

If agricultural crisis continues in our country and government doesn't take actions to it then we will end up suffering from famine.

Not all of us do have a budget to buy foods and goods that we need to survive due to increasing of jobless people.

Businesses are closed and don't expect that jobs will still make you live, this pandemic affects huge sectors in our agriculture. The only thing who will make a way for this inflation to decrease is the government, a responsible and wise government. Let's be honest, it is really hard to earn money and work for it when a hindrance is really deadly and can cause someone's life.

If you know how to properly budget your money then do it, never waste your money to useless things.

It was really high during the hard lockdown, but during these times, the price is starting to go back to its original price, however, some market place has change already and the higher price they had during the lockdown stays. It's kind of a baggage for us cause we don't have our regular salary because of the pandemic then here we are with a high price on goods we need in our everyday life.

This is really sad  to hear, I mean it's 2020 and we still have people not getting enough food. We are paying more than 1.000 USD for an Iphone but can't make sure that everyone has enough food on this planet? Everyone should definitely reconsider. The demand for food banks will likely increase in the future and is on all of us to support each other. Having people suffer from famine is unacceptable in a such advance technology world like we have today.

I am also the one who is being in charged on getting our goods and essentials on the market for I am entitled and allowed to go outside because of our quarantine pass. As far as I have observed in our local market, super market and other convenience stores, I see an increase on the prices of foods and other essential products but not to the extent that the price would double. The increase was just a little bit top up if I would compare it to the previous prices for I got to memorize and familiarize the prices of common food products and goods I buy. The increase is really expected for the market, business owners are getting into the process of recovery and regaining from their losses due to the pandemic. But the price was just good and understandable so it did not come to a surprise. Good thing here in our country and locality, we did not encounter such doubling in price.

It is not easy to solve the issue.  If we feed everyone well they would live to fuck and breed more people crowding the planet more and more.

So before we feed the world well we either need to find more room for the extra people or get people to stop making babies as often as they do. A hint lots of showers and  baths with clean water will allow for lots of oral sex which would keep population in check.
