I fully understand your concern. But no: I never sold my account
Here's what happened: After I realized that the my account was stolen, I tried to recover it. After contacting the recovery team, it was clear: Without access to a private key which was associated to an address which was used back then as RealMalatesta, there was no chance to get the account back. Which I believe is the correct way to go, but was unfortunate for me: In the early days of Bitcoin, I had on almost every computer some wallets. Some of the harddrives were lost after I transferred all the assets to consolidate the "jungle of wallets" I had created. As you see, there were never any assets on this account I posted back then, so no: It wasn't part of the consolidation process.
Did the situation make me grumpy? Of course it did, and yes, for some time, I wasn't using Bitcointalk heavily anymore.
With many members of Bitcointalk, I had established personal connections over the years, and with many of them, I remained in contact outside of Bitcointalk.
I started the "Atrax"-account for staying in the loop and contacting people I didn't have an e-mail address for or any other means of contacting them.
And if you'd like, I could give you some more information on a private message which would probably be more evidence as to why I wasn't very active anymore on Bitcointalk
Meanwhile, I got into "early retirement", moved to another country, and as you see, I had a break-in recently. When talking to my former wife about this, she told me that she still has a box with old hard-drives from me in the attic. When I visited my home-country some weeks ago, I got all those drives, moved them to my new home and eventually started to check them for old pictures. And hell yes, on three of them were some old wallets. One of them had one address I was using as RealMalatesta. So that's why it took me so long to finally - and hopefully successfully - start the recovery process.
As to the withheld payments for the guy who bought my account: Don't worry. I'm not asking for anything.
