Oh wow, it is always sad to see one of the most prolific posters go, even if we didn't always see eye-to-eye. This thread makes me glad that some things were addressed earlier this year.

I am sure that some people will want to speculate what is happening in the coming days/weeks/months, I am curious myself, and have some speculation, but I don't think any of that is appropriate.

I am not sure if you will read this thread, but I guess I would say 'good luck'.

It seems that Lauda's account is already blocked. I tried to send her a farewell PM but I received this error: "User 'Lauda' has blocked your personal message.". I doubt she blocked specifically my PMs lol, as we never had any fight.

You can block all PM's by blocking "*"

Like Quickseller, even if you're not that active on your main account for some reason I get the feeling Lauda will still be around in one form or another.

I am still a merit source and read enough posts to give out my monthly allowance of merit to well deserving posts that contribute to the forum. I don't have as much time to post as I did in the past.

At the forum, holivars happen all the time, over the past three years I have seen a lot of similar discussions. And every time I find it funny how some members use non-appealable statements: always, never, everything, nobody, you don't understand anything and you are funny. Haters and fans foaming at the mouth defend their positions, between which I actually don't see any difference.

But this protracted and mostly meaningless dispute over the identity and reasons for Lauda's departure must eventually end. I understand that this thread is like a fire that attracts all the "pocket" trolls, and who probably do not understand that this was a competent PR. But by his departure, Lauda made it clear to us that there is no need to add oil and throw up wood (unless you decide to say goodbye).

Remember, if you meet angry people on the Internet, most of the time they have no way to annoy you in real life. Don't take comments personally and build willpower, (I'm talking about Haters and fans).

Oh, so is that what really happened?  And here I just naturally assumed that it was annoyance at a request for interrogation.  (I observe that Lauda never did that interview, either...)

On the reasonable inference that zasad@ told you something I don’t know, I am using this post as a reference for positive trust feedback for minerjones.  He seems to know his privacy stuff.  I respect people who don’t pry into others’ business, who don’t gossip...

So, don’t bug people who were known to be somehow connected to Lauda for information that they do not have!

And yes, if you ask me for “secret” information that I do not have anyway, then I will issue negative trust feedback to you just on principle.  It seems counterproductive and inadvisable, so don’t try it.

I share your sentiment, Vod.  I’ve been working on letting go, to avoid false hopes.

Her secure deletion of her identity was so total and so thorough, she even requested that on my end, I destroy certain cryptographic thingies that I used exclusively for our communications.  (I heeded her wishes.)  I doubt that she even has access to your club anymore.

It's sad to see you go. Although there were various small bits of drama and conflict, you've been one of the most active and dedicated members of the community over the course of several years. (And if there's no conflict, then probably nothing is actually being accomplished.) I haven't had a lot of interaction with Lauda and am only familiar with some of the controversies.

We chatted via DM about some topics and I found your knowledge impressive. I've never really known how to interpret you but in your dealings towards me personally I have always found you to be fair.

I have a lot of respect for what you have done for the forum and in the bitcoin community.  While I didn't always agree with your methods, or your conclusions , you have served as an effective bogeymam / woman / cat to prevent a lot of people from getting scammed.

Little known fact that is absolutely true... I once played a game of Rocket League with Lauda. It ended with Lauda rage quitting, but was still fun and Lauda remains to this day the only person I’ve played a live action game with from this forum (I’ve played Monopoly online with Anduck and a few others.)
