Tomorrow dev will announce the "airdrop", send all his coins to cryptsy and cash out. You can quote me on that.

31.8 of worthless fé, fehu, feoh or a real financial help  for each Icelander like $1000 - $5000 ?

Considering AUR is about $21.00 each, 31.8 is around $667.00

Not much of a rescue LOL

~BCX~

Aur is no where near 21, It's like at $12, I'm so happy I made my profit and got the fuck out of there.

I hold absolutely no stake in AUR but I really hope this airdrop goes through, not so much as for people to make money but to silence this childish gang that has formed in this community.

In theory it is a novel idea. And if it is actually pulled off it would be good for the alt community. However, I feel like the opposite is going to happen and a lot of people are going to get burnt and lose faith in cryptos until the next wave occurs, if not forever.

A lot of people I try and share Bitcoin & other coins with are still under the impression this is all one big Ponzi/pyramid scheme. They simply regurgitate the message the main stream media has been spitting out. If this Aurora drop flops, it will be yet another blow to the reputation of crypto currency technology.

If you lived in Iceland why would you not turn around and dump most of your coins right away? Last I heard the share for each person is worth about $600. Why not take the free money? What measures have been put in place to keep the same person from getting several shares right away? How many people from across the world do you think are going to try and get their "free" coins as well?

So for all our sake I hope it works so we don't get slammed in the press again. I have a feeling this is going to be a giant embarrassment similar to what the Maza/Maplecoin guy has done....blatant fraudulent lies.

31.8 AUR * 0.02 BTC/AUR = 0.636 BTC

Current price: 1 BTC = $560  (http://preev.com/)

0.636 BTC * $560 = $356.16  Huh

We should all hope the Airdrop goes well and helps the citizens of Iceland.  It will help the crypto community greatly. I'm afraid there will be a massive sell off.  But if not, then a month from now we will all be pointing to Aurora as a success story instead of the failed experiment you all seem to be suggesting it is now.  Also, I have no reason to believe the devs will try anything unethical.  Heck, I may even buy some AUR after the price stabilizes.

I totally think it will go wrong, but I would love to see it succeed.
Can you imagine those news headlines?
Crypto would be taken much more seriously.

it's amazing to read these threads and notice that most if not everyone that is waiting for AUR to fail can't seem to fucking read or comprehend what the AUR website states about the Airdrop.

http://auroracoin.org/airdrop.php

It fucking specifically states, `About 330,000 Icelanders will be made able to claim f 31.8 each over the following year from the initiation of the Airdrop.'

It is impossible to think that 330,000 citizens are all of a sudden going to have access to their allotment of AUR coins on the stroke of midnight on the 25th.

Anyone who believes that are obviously too fucking stupid and should be barred from the Crypto Currency market..

Suppose I am entitled to get some, how do I do it? Do I email the guy? How can he trust I am who I say I am? He claims he has a National ID system in place, but has anyone seen it? Has he tested it at all? What if every single person wants their AUR at launch, what then? If this is supposed to be for the people, where is the transparency, why is everything a secret? The lack of information and structure seems overwhelmingly likely that this is a scam.

Suppose it's a tiered approach, who get's theirs first? Why does my neighbor get his when the price is $12, but I get mine when the price is $8? Forget the price, why does he get free money before I get free money?

Also, who and where is this guy? He's supposed to GIVE AWAY ~$65million USD? (50% of current coinmarketcap.com total $ value) Don't tell me they don't count towards the market cap, he holds them in a wallet and can clear all of the buy orders on all exchanges. He wouldn't clear $65 million, but he'll clear millions for sure.
Ask yourself, if you had even $10,000,000.00 and were completely anonymous, would you give all of it away just because you promised some people from ICELAND you would? Even if my initial intentions we're honest, simply GIVING AWAY 10 million would cause me to think twice.

If this isn't a scam, this may be the biggest positive news for Bitcoin in a long time. I hope for cryptocurrency's sake that its legit, but I am still very skeptical.

I'm wondering how they will stop the website crashing if millions of people try to claim coins at once. Even if they do it through email the system could be overloaed.

@nelsonmw
+1 very good analysis

I wonder how many people will get their parents, grandparents and relatives to just get them some easy money Tongue

+1 The same problems with all AURORA clones - all regional / ethnic coins with huge pre-mine

its less than that, but thats kinda not the point.. it immediately gives everyone money to form a market with... well everyone that collects.

and I'm betting you would be inline for your free 667 as well. thats a  few watts paid for.

and pretty amazing country wide.

If everyone got aboard it would be a massive injection into the economy.. just like the checks we got at the start of the recession.

I'm not holding.. if that gives a clue about my stance.. I just am not going to belittle the idea.. even if that 667 is really $300.

He said he would update us with the way he would proceed. Let's wait and see but this operation will require brain and hand power roll-out the give away in a smooth way.
