I have been searching here for how to get merits but the most common answer I found was by posting useful information. But I wondered how people give merits.
So I have a question in my mind that how posting useful info get merits and how people give merits? Can merits be shared with each other?

For every Merit you receive from another user, you also gain half a sMerit (sendable Merit; Merit you send to other users). If your account has 10 Merits, you'd have 5 sMerits at your disposal.

Just like the answer you've gotten, there's nothing more direct than participating/ being helpful on the forum instead of being too focused on gaining Merits.

People can give Merits for a variety of reasons. Being entertaining, generating user-content, revealing scams/ spams in a scam/ scam busting thread are some examples.

In my bitcointalk journey i get 3 merit and all of them for one subject. I just share my experience about how to turning old computers to life. The people thought it was useful because many people has old computers maybe even some of them tried those ways. The post that you share must be worth to read i guess.They dont want to waste their times. Because hundreds post sharing by members in a minute so people wants to read something useful and valuable post. If you made this people will give you merit.

It is actually easy to determine what kind of post are merit worthy if you can spend some time studying on how they construct their ideas or point of views to a certain topic or issues imposed by other other members. Studying each day may also widen your knowledge which can give you an idea about on how you can tackle a certain topic and of course join the discussion naturally which i think is the most important aspect.

I've provided some links which will shed some light if you are going to exert some effort studying it. Or maybe, stick with your local board if you are having any difficulty expressing your ideas due to language barrier.

Yes, but not limited to that. Sometime a user can get merit based on his unique response to some questions or with humorous thought. A short but constructive answer can gain merits.

Its actually based on the sender's appreciation of the response. I am been noticing some can easily send bulk or good amount of merits by simple response. Cant actually determine the scale since there is no actual basis any user should follow in giving merits aside from the fact that you mentioned of being helpful and providing good source of information.

You will receive merit when you post something that will be helpful to other members. For example, if you make a post that enhances my knowledge or I think it can be helpful for newcomers, I will give you a merit. And your useful post can be on any topic. It depends on you, what is your knowledge, which can be helpful for other members.

Can merits be shared with each other?

When you get 2 merits, you will also get 1 s-merit which you can give to any other member.

Reply or making a thread that can be useful to others gained merit because this is pay for your effort, awareness, and giving a needs to a person/member who does not know about the thread you replied/created.

Every time you received 2 merits it's equivalent to 1 Sendable merit (sMerit).

There are a lot of thread giving merit if you give the information, or qualified to their needs.

Let's just hope that op will not be fixated at the merit just to rank up. I didn't mention on how to send merit. To send merit (have smerit available) you have to click or touch (mobile phones) the merit button located at the right side of the post then there will be a new tab opened and you type on how many merit you will send then click send.

There is no universal answer to your question.
There are a lot of different people on this forum and everyone has their own definition and understanding of usefulness.
I think that you are actually too burdened with the opinion of others and that it will not help you.
I suggest you write freely, without thinking about the merits but thinking about how to share your knowledge and experience with others on the forum.
It's the best way to get merits to

Looks like you didn't actually read that thread before posting, because it contains all necessary information and answers to your question - as well as thirty thousand other threads opened by people asking this same question over and over on the Beginners boards and elsewhere.

I was once a Newbie too and my post quality has certainly improved since my first day on this forum. But one thing I can say, is that I did not arrive on these boards 3,5 years ago, starting to post right away about getting Merit and getting rich. Maybe you shouldn't either. Well... it's too late now anyway.

I think there is already much information you can have by those comments above, quality posts are only the key for receiving merits. There are many merit source in this forum and they will not hesitate to give merits for all those members who deserve it,

You may create a topic and create a comment both can trigger the merit as long as it is quality and helpful, entertainment could be in some ways.

You may also visit some profile with a good number of merits and see how they get those merits, check how they construct the message. Constructive posts make your content quality and the information and concept behind it. If you are not good at English then you may be active on your local boards which will make you more comfortable.

But I wondered how people give merits.

Each user has their own way of distributing their merit and that is very subjective. You and I have different point of view when it come to assessing the quality of a post. Sooner or later you will find out how the merit system work.

My advice for you.
1. Explore the potential that you have today and do well without having to push.
2. Post naturally and regularly.
3. Take a little time to study something that matche your interest on the forum.
4. Do it consistently without begging.
5. Try to engage in interesting and useful discussion, this will force you to gain more knowledge when you want to post.
6. Don't burden yourself just for merit.

There are many previously suggested ways to earn merit, and you deserve to try them. If other people can do it well, so can you. Don't imitate but learn.

@OP, It will be difficult for you if you just focus on alt discussion and bounty threads, it's better to change your style on posting if you really want to earn merits.
There's a bunch of one-liner post and AFAIK, there are plenty of users here who reports non-sense one-liner posts.

Many users have replied link here on how to earn merits, take time to read and better to study more about cryptocurrency. Those users with intellect and full of effort in creating threads or posts, received a lot of merits.

Yep, and in other words and in addition to that, it's upon the merit sender's discretion if he wants to give merits. There's no particular criteria for giving merits, really. Sometimes, lengthy responses get merit; sometimes, it's the short ones. Even if you think your post just contains your mere opinion, someone might really find that relevant and give you merit for that. You know, it just varies.

Hey OP, I was in your situation as at last month or there about searching how to earn merit but how funny the merit system is that once you stop making shit post and spamming links on the forum and begin to make quality educative post, merits begin to call you.
