Trump blew the deficient, but the only silver lining is the economic growth. You can raise taxes, cut spending, or grow the economy to counteract the debt. Raising taxes can kill jobs so not the best approach, and Trump obviously didn't cut spending, but he did grow the economy at a reasonable rate.

Joe Biden's $15 minimum wage is estimated to cost 1 million jobs so if Trump was bad, expect Biden to be worse. His 1.9 trillion dollar COVID relief package will surely make USD worthless, but I guess that's the end goal for most of us here anyways.

Ahh, time has come. It is Trump's last day in office. Perhaps some thoughts on his Presidency?

Who knew with Trump's personality that he'd be the President to not engage in oversea conflict?

Trump implemented very good policies but was toxic personally. He made everything a referendum on himself, which was a mistake.

I suspect Trump's personality made other countries afraid to provoke the US into conflict. I think they were afraid of an overreaction by Trump. This is probably especially true with regards to North Korea. Iran came close to baiting Trump into a conflict, and we even had fighters in the air before Trump called off the strike. I think Iran believed the left-wing propaganda in the US would make any conflict with Iran unsustainable politically.

It looks like Trump has largely already left the White House, as most of his belongings have been moved to Mar-a-Largo, and most of his staffers have left. Trump may be spending the night in the White House residence tonight, and reports say he will leave in the morning at a time such that he will land in Florida before Biden becomes President.

We're lucky that he inherited a stable economy and didn't run it into the ground. The economy by most metrics (GDP, employment, etc) was growing at roughly the same pace from 2010 through 2019. It didn't need tax cuts. It needed a budget surplus and room to cut interest rates for dealing with the next crisis. Instead he started a trade war he couldn't win.

Trump will leave the White House. Joe Biden's campaign manager was insinuating that he would need to physically remove Trump earlier is pure partisan bullshit. He said something alone the lines of "The WH has the power to remove trespassers". Give it a break.

I would have said the same thing a couple of months ago. But now seeing how desperately Trump is trying the create a narrative of election fraud when there is none, I wouldn't be surprised if he calls on his supporters to create a "CHAZ" (WHAZ?) around the White House to defend him.

Yeah, he's always been too lazy/incompetent/unambitious to plan a real coup or anything like that. That said, I had been concerned that he might've gone so far off the deep end that he might do something out of actual insanity, so I'm relieved to see him gone, even though I'm not looking forward to the next 2+ years of Democratic control. I'll be curious to see what Trump does with himself. Probably it'd be best for everyone including himself if he just retires, but that seems unlikely.

Biden's inauguration speech was pretty poor, with a lot of platitudes and politician-speak. He tried to promote unity, but to me this call for unity came across as very fascist/authoritarian (which was also my impression of the DNC); it would've been more appropriate for him to have given the speech in the House where he'd have fasces hanging behind him... Moreover, he clearly wants to reduce tribalism and promote a wider American nationalism, but I think that the majority of Trump's 70+ million voters will hear Biden's speech as calling them white nationalists and domestic terrorists. To be clear: I think that it was and is possible for Biden to speak in a way which does reduce tribalism and make many Trump supporters accept him, and in fact the last few minutes of the speech was better at this, but on the whole this speech will fail to create any actual unity IMO, and it portends perhaps an even more divisive 4 years than the last 4.

The White House isn't only a building. The White House is the tradition of the the man elected to rule (sort of) the USA nation. If the building caut fire and burned down, right to the ground, it would be rebuilt. Why? Because of the tradition of it.

Trump didn't leave the White House. Rather, the White House went with him. The lands of the Capitol area have simply fallen into terrorists hands... terrorists in the form of Biden and and his Chinese-Communist/media controllers.

It will be up to the people to rebuild the white House around Trump, so that he can go back to D.C. in victory over Communist China and their puppets... of which Biden is one, and most of Congress are others.

It's just the collateral of cancelling those projects which is pretty much not necessary and waste of the budget.

The opposition of local communities due to the spillage of oils from the pipeline is enough to stop the project.

Is the proposed Keystone pipeline the first oil pipeline that would run through the mainland United States? If that was the case, then I would have supported your views. There are a total of 4 million km of oil/gas pipelines in the United States. What makes this pipeline any different from any of them? Well.. the only difference is that if the pipeline is commissioned, then it may cause a drop in the crude oil prices and that will have a negative impact on countries such as Saudi Arabia and Russia. Biden will do his best to keep oil prices above $100 per barrel level. The next step will be a blanket ban on shale oil.
