Merited by mdayonliner (2)
 #1

I have made my account two days ago. And I just made only 5 posts.
I am giving the whole time to this forum and getting a lot of knowledge about cryptocurrencies world.

Noticed that! Here is only merited that posts which have the qualities and giving something better or new.
And also realized that here in this forum the spammers can't stand.

Want some suggestions now:

I want to make a quality post what should it has abilities?
1. Should I choose a one topic like current affairs or only bitcoin or only altcoins discussion or should I post everything here.
2. Should the post has old information?
3. Should I post only links which define my whole post.?

4. Should I reply to every one who reply to my post? ( 4th number add now because I think this is compulsory question)

Please share more suggestions and opinion.

I have made this post in half an hour so please suggest and in a better way.
Old members suggestions will help all of new members.

At the end!

Thank you all in advance.

First of all, welcome to bitcointalk! That is a good approach, to get yourself familiar with the forum. Take your time, read the rules, there is no need to rush into anything. Newbies tend to do  that mistake and they end u getting banned (pay extra attention to proper referencing when copying an external article). So make sure that you know do's and don'ts. A lot of newbies tend to ignore that part and it doesn't end up well for them.

Should I choose a one topic like current affairs or only bitcoin or only altcoins discussion or should I post everything here.
Regarding your question, in my opinion it's best you write about the stuff that you are interested in, whether it's bitcoin, altcoins or something else. Don't feel pressured writing in some section about stuff that you don't care about as it will affect your post quality, whether you want it or not.

Since you are still new I would advise you to read this guide made by @tranthidung Bitcointalk posting etiquette. It has a lot of useful info and will set you on the right track from the beginning.

Noticed that! Here is only merited that posts which have the qualities and giving something better or new.
Good posts are highlighted by merit (in Green) but it is not correct for all merited posts. You need to have your own opinion that which posts are good in quality.

And also realized that here in this forum the spammers can't stand.
They are everywhere. The forum can only restrict them to rank up by merit system and the community can help to report their spam posts but they are everywhere if you check patrol page

2. Should the post has old information?
It is sure that people make repeated topics on same issue. If you are knowledgeable, you will know which posts are good or low quality, brings new information and enlightment to readers and vice versa. You will also have the ability to realize which topics are created to troll then you will skip such (do neither reply nor feed the troll).

3. Should I post only links which define my whole post.?
What do you mean? If it is about copy and paste or share post, topic, article, blog, etc. you must leave original links and use quote brackets to separate which part is copy and paste, and which one is your own opinion.

And yes, I do know you did not search before you made this topic. Therefore, spend some time to read

Thank you. Also read that topic as well: Make your topic title, posts more attractive. OP did not choose a good topic title. The current title is too general and vague.

Old members suggestions will help all of new members.
Be you.
Find a niche which interest you and hang up there. Share your knowledge about the nice with others and seek more. Everyday you will learn new things I promise.
Do not make boring posts just to grab merits, this will make you look like a merit seeker.
Always make constructive posts, have thoughts in your post. Don't just post something which has nothing to do with the topic or just to increase your post count.
Most of all, stay engaged, treat this forum as a place for you to hangup.

Protip: Do not expose your true identity, do not link any of your social media, stay anonymous.

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

<…>
When you set off as a real beginner here, you’re not going to have much knowledge on crypto, and you are better off reading than posting for a while, until you gain some background on the matter, which in turn, helps you to create better posts later down the road.

On the matter of which topic to post on, probably that should not be top of mind right now. As a beginner, and due to what I stated above, it might be better to try to engage in current topics that you may find of interest, rather than opening topics on which you do not much about yet. There are of course questions you may wish to place, and if you can’t find prior topics that answer them, by all means go ahead and ask them.
Once you gather some reading experience, you’ll be able to discern what type of topics you are interested most in, and post about those, be it about Bitcoin, Altcoins or whatnot. Now if the implicit key here is the Merit thingy, the Altcoins are likely to be not the best of options to post about, but, as stated, the driver should really be what you are interested in most.

Old information, as you say, may have it’s value when seen from a historical perspective. There are some valuable historical threads around on multiple topics, and they are an entertaining read. Not sure if this is what you meant (as opposed to stale information, which is old misleading information).

Posting links is necessary when you gather your information from elsewhere. They are nevertheless a reference to a source, not a basis to create a post on their own. You can debate, refute, favour, question, dissect, aggregate ideas, and quote extracts here and there, but the essence of the wording has to be yours. A post including just quotes and/or copy/paste and/or links is generally not going to be that useful, and will lack any personal touch.

just continue what you are doing, follow the rules, and don't be rude to others, make a quality post, don't expect any merit if you made a post or a topic, members will give you merit if they think it's meritable, go with the flow, be active but don't spam, welcome to the forum , lots of information are shared here so for sure you will learn a lot.

1. Should I choose a one topic like current affairs or only bitcoin or only altcoins discussion or should I post everything here.
The main purpose of the Bitcointalk forum is to discuss Bitcoin or other crypto related discussions, you don't have to use 1-2 discussion boards only, You other boards are better to discuss, such as: gambling, games, Economy, services, trading, Meta, and many others, which essentially addresses your crypto expertise to add knowledge to other members.

2. Should the post has old information?
old information if it is needed is not a problem, but the latest information is better.

3. Should I post only links which define my whole post.?
the core and purpose of the post is better explanation, links if needed, the important thing is that people understand the essence of the topic or information you provide.

4. Should I reply to every one who reply to my post? ( 4th number add now because I think this is compulsory question)
if the person asks and needs more information from you and doesn't understand it, you are obliged to explain the gist of the problem, no need to answer all the points you hug.

Little PRO-advice here: there are some Legendary members who are considered "merit sources".

It is not the idea to bother them, but whenever you can you should consider participating in the threads they use to write. Taking always into account that your comment makes sense and you are interested in the topic, of course. If you force it, this will be counterproductive.

Firstly you are welcome to the highly recommended Bitcoin community the first of its kind it's a very wide community and our interest is not just bitcoin but the whole cryptocurrencies at large. (a lot improved since i left)

The forum is also interested in research topics, political discussions (crypto space depends on this), tutorials, scammers alert and any informative post you wish to share.

It is not the idea to bother them, but whenever you can you should consider participating in the threads they use to write.
I don't think a user should participate in any discussion just cause merit sources or any other user at all is in it, post in discussions cause you have something to contribute to it and you're comfortable doing so, and mind you that a merit source or other users mustn't necessarily join in a discussion before they give out merits, so just post wherever you wish and if the posts are good, then they'll prolly be merited.
4. Should I reply to every one who reply to my post? ( 4th number add now because I think this is compulsory question)
No, it can make your thread look disorganized, and there's no need to do so if you do not have anything useful or necessary (mind you that 'thank you' isn't necessary) to add to what the user posted, and then if you want to react to two or more replies, you can wait it out and through quotes include all of it in one post.

wisdom will come in to you as days pass if you will continue to stay and learn from other members. The discussion in the threads can help you get more idea but if it happens that you do not know about it then you can ask here by starting a thread but make sure that you had already use the search button to search for the topic you wanted to learn. This because there are already topics been discussed here over and over again and you do not want to add or start a new thread with the same content. If you need specific thread for the discussion then for aure a lot of membera here will come in help.

I want to make a quality post what should it has abilities?
1. Should I choose a one topic like current affairs or only bitcoin or only altcoins discussion or should I post everything here.

This forum is quite broad. You can definitely make a post on different topics and join any discussion. Enjoy exploring! And then ask yourself first before making a post, "does this post bring something new and relevant idea or information to the discussion?"

Quote
2. Should the post has old information?

It all depends on the specific discussion. Perhaps ask yourself first, "does this old information help or contribute something to the discussion?"

Quote
3. Should I post only links which define my whole post.?

Never! Please avoid this. Don't just post links. Post only the gist or the relevant or salient points of whatever that link provides. That's in addition to the link, of course. Please retain the link as a source. That's proper citation or acknowledgment.

Quote
4. Should I reply to every one who reply to my post? ( 4th number add now because I think this is compulsory question)

Of course, not. Not every post needs a reply.

Welcome to this bitcointalk forum. And I wish you Good Luck. Some good contributors already suggested their valuable suggestions. I also add something more:

1. Don't copy-paste (if need important things to post from other source, don't forget to add the reference link)
2. Use the search function before creating a post (If you have some doubt that it already asked in before)
3. Always try to post something from your brain. It will help to spread your knowledge about cryptocurrency.

1. Should I choose a one topic like current affairs or only bitcoin or only altcoins discussion or should I post everything here.
Post and comment in threads when you have something significant to add. Before you post, ask yourself: Does this post improve the quality of the thread? Is it helpful? Does it keep the thread going in the right direction?

2. Should the post has old information?
Old how? If you are going to talk about an event that happened 3 years ago and share old articles, no that isn't needed, unless you use that information to prove a point. The information and links you share should be accurate and on topic.

3. Should I post only links which define my whole post.?
Plagiarism is a serious violation on Bitcointalk. Whenever you read a piece of information from another user, a media site, etc, you need to share that link in your post and make sure you do not pretend that what you are saying is originally from you. Always give credit to the author. Don't copy/paste unless it's necessary. When you do, don't forget the source link.

4. Should I reply to every one who reply to my post?
That is not needed. Replies like thank you, great info, I agree, me too, great job... are low quality posts and don't bring anything new to the conversation. Reply to questions that people ask you, and when you have valuable information or feedback to share.

Little PRO-advice here: there are some Legendary members who are considered "merit sources".

It is not the idea to bother them, but whenever you can you should consider participating in the threads they use to write.
This is not needed at all. Merit sources often watch whole sub-forums in search for good posts to merit. You don't need to look for them. Just focus on your writing and they will find you. If the post isn't good enough, it wont get merited just because you posted it in a thread where 3 other merit sources are active.

I am giving the whole time to this forum and getting a lot of knowledge about cryptocurrencies world.

Good! If you are here for the knowledge, then you are here for right reasons!

Noticed that! Here is only merited that posts which have the qualities and giving something better or new.
And also realized that here in this forum the spammers can't stand.

= "pls merit me" Roll Eyes

Want some suggestions now:

I want to make a quality post what should it has abilities?
1. Should I choose a one topic like current affairs or only bitcoin or only altcoins discussion or should I post everything here.
2. Should the post has old information?
3. Should I post only links which define my whole post.?

4. Should I reply to every one who reply to my post? ( 4th number add now because I think this is compulsory question)

Please share more suggestions and opinion.

to make quality post, stfu about merits and stop to think about merits, or to hint about merits. if you are interested in the knowledge, then the merits do not matter! right?

then follow advice above by Rikafip, tranthidung, mdayonliner, DdmrDdmr, YOSHIE, and most of all , Coyster:

It is not the idea to bother them, but whenever you can you should consider participating in the threads they use to write.
I don't think a user should participate in any discussion just cause merit sources or any other user at all is in it, post in discussions cause you have something to contribute to it and you're comfortable doing so,

I have made this post in half an hour so please suggest and in a better way.

That took you half hour, and you offer translation services? Roll Eyes

Sorry, just don't brag about something unless it is really worth bragging. Some people spend hours on their posts. Much longer posts, maybe with in-depth research, and made in fancy formatting..... oh, pro tip: Long post is for when you have a lot to say. Short post is for when you don't. Length is not good or bad in itself!

Old members suggestions will help all of new members.

At the end!

Thank you all in advance.

You're welcome! Smiley

Of all that you have said @OP, this is the only one I think you shouldn't do as, it would result in a cloudy thread with needless comments and as such, you tend to spam the forum and I'm very sure you won't want that because, it opens a one door exit for you and your gone, just like that. You can reply to comments but, it's only when you feel it's entirely necessary that you should or should it be that, you were given some directives perhaps as questions that you should and again, if your touched by a comment and you have to make emphasis. Otherwise, it's unwise to reply to every comment on a thread.

- I can type really fast, so I can offer you express services without additional costs.

Sorry, just don't brag about something unless it is really worth bragging. Some people spend hours on their posts. Huh

Maybe I haven't understood your post well, or maybe you didn't understand mine, but what I meant in this post you searched for in the archive is that I can finish translations of long documents in a short time. This kind of services are usually more expensive (express translations), but as I can type really fast, I don't charge more for this kind of works.

I hope you now understand the point of the "brag" and why it was worth mentioning it. By the way, did you just confuse me and Cryptomint9? And please, next time reply in the original thread and avoid spamming others, as CryptocurencyKing has just said: this way you could to something positive for a change and bump my services.

I totally agree that posting from your brain is the best not only because it will help spread your intellectual abilities or knowledge, but it will also be of great help by making you not to fall victim to copy-paste work's or making similar posts that has been made or posted by someone else, to avoid it, you just have to go for or conduct more researchs not only to boost your own intellectual abilities but also to help this community grow in knowledge too

I want to make a quality post what should it has abilities?
1. Should I choose a one topic like current affairs or only bitcoin or only altcoins discussion or should I post everything here.
2. Should the post has old information?
3. Should I post only links which define my whole post.?

1. You should post on topics and boards that genuinely interest you, and this forum has a huge variety of boards to choose from. Don't force yourself to write about something you don't care about, that's how shiposts are made.

2. Before creating a new topic, use the forum's search function to check if it was created before. We really don't need a thread about quantum computers every week.

3. If your opening post is nothing more than a link, it's just a spam. You should write a short summary of your link, maybe add some excerpt from your link, and only then put the link in the end.

Overall, it sounds like you are asking how to write "quality posts" to earn merit, and that's already a wrong approach, because merit is not some social ladder to be climbed. Just use this forum like you'd use any other forum, and first and foremost, follow its rules.
