Thank you @krogothmanhattan for running these tests. By the way, I didn't know about this type of paper - but I also had never researched it. I noticed that the tests you carried out were on laser printer paper. Or am I mistaken? You motivated my research, and find a paper that says it works in inkjet: https://www.graytex.com/inkjet-ruff-n-tuff-paper.htmDid you get to test this one? Hi thanks! And correct this was all done on a laser printer. No I have not tested this one...If you have a spare paper from that company please let me know and you can send me a sample if you wish and I will add to the test. Cheers! Free samples are available. They are TX based so probably easier for you to get some here then someone in the EU https://www.graytex.com/graytex-faq.htm#samplesI know it's not that simple, but still think it would be interesting to see how the different papers deal with water from different parts of the country and world. -Dave Hi Dave...thankts for pointing and sharing that addy. I will reach out to them and get a sample and add to my water cup test

So added another strip of TERRAPAPER with a loaded BIP38 paper wallet loaded with $100 in BTC. Lets see water wash away the BTC . If you can crack it you can have it.

Drained the water and pulled out the paper...I was able to read all the QR codes except for the regular paper which has turned moldy and completely into Jello...so I threw out. The loaded paper wallet is still loaded as well...so loaded and submersed

I did the same thing back in 2017 with my online version of the very first stamp and it was loaded with 0.02 BTC and its still loaded as well. https://www.crypto-stamps.com/private3.html Mike Caldwell's program is top notch for protecting your private keys!

I have a sample of this that I can send you for testing!! Your entire booklet arrived...I say thanks! So I printed two bitcoin qr codes, pub and private and of course loaded them with $40 in BTC. When it came thru the laser printer the paper felt soggy kinda like it melted but I was still able to read the qr code as you can see below I have added to the rest of the papers experiment and changed the water as well! Thanks again for all!!

I know I mentioned it before but seeing what damage Hurricane Helene did to some places I wonder how well these waterproof papers would stand up to buried in mud / muck / slime for weeks on end. Clean water is well, clean. I don't see why they would not still be good after a weeks buried in something like this: But, you never know, could they be stained beyond use or suffer some other form of damage? -Dave

Who Knows? And how many will have that unfortunate event happen to them? Unless the PH of the water is strong enough to eat into the paper or ink...it might be fine. But then again ya never know. If under a hologram it might be fine. There are alot of variables in play...example...water quality...duration..pressure...etc etc etc. Safest of em all is to get a seed and place on a metal plate IMO. But this experiment is mostly for assuming a regular water flood damage inside a house with faulty plumbing etc etc etc or rain

I have tested this in extreme conditions in the Caribbean. After submerged in salt water for 1 year in the heat and sand, the hologram color was boiled off but the plastic was still intact. It protected the keys and yes the keys are still readable. I could claim flood resistance for up to 1 year in extreme conditions, but collectability is destroyed. Keys still readable. A Caribbean Treasures 2023 Brass 10,000 Satoshi piece was the test coin.

This was more what I was thinking. Yes, in the home for your seed / private keys steel / titanium seed plates are the best. I have always had the niggling feeling in the back of my head, how will these coins with keys make out. Personally, for a bunch of reasons I am shrinking my collection, but I still love the collectables. And I don't think any of us want to hear 'After my house was destroyed I managed to recover my collectables but I could not get read a bunch of keys' I admit it's an extreme edge case, but in the scheme of things the additional cost to someone making a coin to use the better papers is minimal. -Dave

What does "518124" mean under the Stone paper wallet key? Is it a bip38 passphrase?
