It's your decision, but for me only Bitcoin is the most stable coin in the market, look at what's happening to Ripple they are charged by SEC they are a centralized coin and altcoin that don't deserve to be in the top 5 and Bitcoin dominance in the market is something that will play a major factor in the market.

I bet XRP won't be in the top 5 for long.
If the price continues to plummet, it will soon fall below Litecoine and most likely below BCH. Even though I personally don't think BCH should be in the top five either.

Maybe XRP will worth only a few hundred million dollars MCAP in the future. As already expected by so many people when US exchange site will start to halt XRP service and then this coin will be facing a very difficult situation.
Litecoin or even BCH are better compared with XRP. XRP has no utility. XRP is a useless coin.

It is risky to enter an investment with bitcoin right now but it is riskier to invest in altcoins for me. What if bitcoin suddenly had a big correction and dump? and as we all know and observed most altcoins dump along with bitcoin almost all top altcoins I am pretty sure altcoins will have a hard time pumping if this will happen. Altcoin investment is not the safest option but can be an option. Bitcoin is still the best now.

We have our own reasons why bitcoin isn't our preferred investment right now and i bet one of these reason was its too high value that a new investor will surely dealt with. And in fact staying with altcoins isn't bad as long as the alts that you have choose to invest with has still a value in the crypto market. Where every bitcoin user still believe that bitcoin were still the best, there have some of us that couldn't take the risk to invest in bitcoin and that i guess was totally fine. personal preferences do really vary. some people are keeping their hands on alts because they believe they can get more profits. which is actually true, if he chooses the right alt. and sometimes, you don't need big initial capital to invest in alts. because if you look at BTC, and say you want to buy 1BTC, of course, it's overwhelming for you especially with the current price in the market. so some really opt for alts, as they can buy alts with low capital investment and see also their profits. but some do prefer to stay with BTC, even if they can only afford a fraction of it. so whatever a crypto user decides with his investment, it is up to him how he will strategise to optimise his profits. no one can really exactly tell you what you need to do in this investment.

Better move to invest on bitcoin than keep investing with altcoin because many risk happening with altcoin, last happen on Ripple coin after delist on any market exchange but bitcoin impossible can delist. I know bitcoin have higher price and altcoin have lower price then get much profit when investing on altcoi, but how come when your altcoin investment delist on exchange market, look right now happen on ripple from 0.7$ become 0.17$ and keep lower price after not active trade on any exchange market.

Bitcoin have not even drops 10% from the whole December while almost all altcoin did has Ups and down trend.

In my case, I am putting 70% of my asset into bitcoin and the remaining are set for altcoins but I closely monitor the bitcoin price so I will not miss if there is a quick dump that will happen and for me to assure that I can sell my bitcoin in a right time.
