Different opinions based on different assumptions from country to country. In Dubai they may have to consider religious aspects, which they often do when it comes to political decisions and regulation. They need to stay authentic in public. While taking away human rights based on religious beliefs, how can they stay authentic when they allow gambling and alcohol at the same time?

But at some point, oil prices are now seems back in a healthy swing.

Looking at the 1 Month view or let's expand it to 3 Months view, there's a big difference now compare during the time of pandemic that's why I don't consider oil price down as a reason today why nations are struggling (I don't even know what countries that has the highest oil production struggles today financially).

It's not the end of the world for Dubai citizens though. They can still gamble online and crypto currency is always here to welcome players from restrictive countries. 

Dubai citizens already knows about it. They can lived without gambling and can do gambling by their own way.

According to Social Media Rumors People did think that the Dubai Government was apparently approving and giving license to various hotels for Gambling. But as it turns out the news was indeed false.

So you're friend might get excited but it isnt still  time for him to engage with gambling activities since its still prohibited up to this moment.
Its already expected that they wont really be that soft when it comes to allowing licensing about those gambling businesses.This is a heavily muslim country
and if religion do speaks out then it is mostly followed all the time.

I understand. Religion there is really powerful and doesn't only influence people's lives, as it also rules the country. In another countries where the majority are protestants gambling isn't a big issue and some betting categories are allowed at least, although the religions are also against gambling, like Islam. But in islamic countries like United Arab Emirates it's different, in a much more strict way.

If that was the case, then why gambling is not allowed in most of the non-Muslim countries? Also, some of the nations that are 100% Islamic permit gambling, and examples are Morocco and Azerbaijan. Other than that people in the UAE can actually gamble :
1. They can gamble in offshore casinos (online)
2. Use foreign currency

Yes but that doesn't change the fact that those exogenous shocks are a real threat to their economy. There is also renewable energies. It is of course far down the road until they may become the primary source of energy, but as a nation or government you don't want to wait until that is the case before you act. They know that hard times are ahead of them.

I was thinking the same, online gambling is allowed so it is fine, people will have to give up gambling in physical casinos but it is not as if this is something we are not used to it already as that has been the reality since the pandemic started, however I can understand the disappointment of those that want to stop gambling online and want to gamble in a physical casino because they want to feel the thrill of gambling like they used to but I think we still need to be wary of the pandemic and they should resign themselves to gamble online.

You can drink only in bars of big hotels that have a license. There were no privates stores where you can go and buy. Also, you cannot drink outside of the bars of your hotel. Other types of "not halal" stuff might be accessible but alcohol is controlled quite well.

You can really say that they are really that strict in to the  sense where even simple things like these are prohibited.This is why when you do travel out across boarders then
always be mindful about laws and restriction because each countries does have its own.

Very good point. Indeed, there is a large gambling industry in the countries with Sharia-based laws, like the Middle East and North Africa regions are well-known for their successful gambling business. And same can be found for the law regarding alcohol consumption: some allow it and some prohibit it. How so? Maybe the answer is somewhere in the history or in the fact, that there are different branches of Islam, like Sunni and Shia and their laws and the strictness of the laws can differ.

^ Definitely right, gambling in Islam country was strictly prohibited long time ago and I think there is no legit on such news because since then we know how they hated gambling. We must be careful on social media news because some of them are not legit, if we saw spreading news without a proper source, we don't believe it unless we will find a legitimate source of what we have read on social media. I don't think how you will feel if you fooled this kind of propaganda, it is merely happening and only lazy people will fall on this cam attempt.

I guess each country has its own jurisdiction to follow but as far as I know, only the Islamic religion was not allow gambling in their country.
I guess it will depend on their culture, there are some countries that open to gambling activity because of the revenue that can contribute to economic growth. But for them, this is just a huge sin and strictly goes by Islamic law.

However, it does not mean Muslims are not into a gamble, there are some of them still able to gamble but not in their place.

On OP shared, if you are in Dubai we should follow their rules even though we aren't Muslim.

Also their population is very low compared to the revenue they are making so government had more money to spend for the people welfare whicb is nit happening with democratic nation. Tourism?
