Any thoughts on the high error rate on  hashboard #1  vs. hashboard #0?

I am see 0.6% error on hashboard #0 and >40%% on hashboard #1.  hashboard #1 error rates update from 30 to over 80%....

Update:  I just went and checked out the hashboard #1 unit and there are none of the yellow lights that are normally flashing on the bottom of the hashboard.   The LED is solid red and the unit is cool to the touch.     I will be away for an hour or so, and I will it sit as is incase any logs need to be pulled.

I can actually answer if the apollo is coded to be able to find blocks or not now.
Someone decided to risk testing it (solo) on KanoPool and take that risk for apollo.

But since most around here seem to think I don't know what I'm talking about, and various people like making false accusations about me, I'll leave it up to the people who sold you the software to verify it, as it should have been done in the first place.

We have not released any solo mining capability, and when we do that will be obviously tested rigorously on our end via testnet and unit tests.

What you are talking about is testing YOUR pool code on whether it can successfully submit a block. You obviously already know we are submitting valid shares. Since your pool has not submitted a valid block in nearly a year maybe your code should be more in question than ours

Well, you have spent your time dealing with scamcoins, now you've come to sell a miner to real miners, you need to brush up a bit on reality.

After running the miner for a few weeks everything is pretty stable (I also have an LTC)

The only thing that is a bit problematic is the fact that the BTC miner randomly stops mining. (solid red light)
Not sure what is causing that, and I only have to restart the miner to get it going again but it's annoying when it happens in the middle of the night or when I am away for a few days. It would be nice to have an auto-restart or something like that.
The LTC miner used to do similar stuff when I upgraded it to run a node but since I stopped the node it doesn't do it anymore so I tried to stop the node on the BTC one but the same issue persists so it's not because of the node running...

Again not sure what is causing that, it's really just random.
Both miners are next to each other so they share the same connectivity and environment.

Edit: Also, it's too bad that the activity LED is not the same as the LTC miner (flashing red/yellow light when mining). When I see flashing red only I think there is a problem

How solid is your internet connection.

Ever since covid and lots of stay at.home workers I get many I internet dropouts

I use a chrome browser  app that tracks drop outs
Sometimes I get 20  thirty second drop outs in a day.

So if the drop out is long say 1 minute the node stops and the miner stops.
Once I get off the exercise bike I will show the log.

Thanks I will try that. Internet is pretty good but if there are small drop outs I may not notice. The LTC miner does not stop though and the BTC node either.

Double-check your USB node drive is plugged in the USB port in the back of your Apollo, properly formatted with the folder name "Bitcoin" in the root directory, and press the Start button below.

30 minutes later, several times, nothing but the same message, but it is mining finally for extended hours.

Shoot us an email (reply to your order email). Well trouble shoot node drive...most likely a ssd connection issue.

If you dont see active workers it means your pool settings are incorrect. Make sure your not including the stratum+tcp bit in front in your pool section(whole url for slush should be stratum.slushpool.com:3333), and double check your username is correct.

./miner_start_all.sh returns "line 8: screen: command not found" two times, then says "Started."  Yet I can't see the worker in the pool, and red light stays solid.  How do I get the second miner running?  How do I open a second instance?

On ubuntu that would be

Since it sounds like 'screen' wasn't installed?

... and if they are using screen, you can connect to it again later to see what it's saying while running.
To see the list of screen names for the same user you are logged in as:

To disconnect from a screen type: 'Ctrl-A' then type 'd'
(this doesn't stop the screen from running so it's ok to do)

I have the same problem with miner dropouts and can pretty much confirm it is an internet issue, I live in a rural area with very poor and unreliable broadband, and the miner dropouts coincide with internet dropouts.
It is annoying and a hassle to restart the miner every time that happens, especially since  I obviously can't do it when I am not at home. An auto-restart feature when the hash rate drops would be incredibly helpful. I also mine Ethereum with HiveOS, and they have such a feature implemented. For people like me with poor internet it is a real helpful feature.

Seems the fan on the SBC on my unit is on the way out too. Was fine last night but now is making a horrible sound. I'll pull it down later to inspect but perhaps take a look at the supplier jstefanop? These may not be up to the task?

EDIT: Confirmed, just tore it down and tested, definitely the fan on the SBC causing the issue. Disconnect it and the sound goes away but I'm not too keen on letting it be passively cooled. I've disconnected it temporarily because I need to be in my office and the sound is driving me mad. Keeping an eye on the temps just confirming if it's safe to do so or will I need to keep the device off?

EDIT2: I wasn't comfortable leaving it without the fan so I tried to tear the fan down to get to the bearing but being a totally sealed unit that was a no go. Instead I gave it a bath in some WD40, that has made the fan totally silent now but I'm sure it's only a matter of time until the noise comes back

try tightening/retorquing the screws a bit. Not sure if its the same issue but in a thread/post by philipma1957(i think) he ran into a similar issue and said that did the trick.

Yep I remembered his issue and it was the first thing I did. No improvement

Yea been searching for years (since the moonlander days) for a reliable 25mm fan manufacturer and have yet to find a quality one. Either these work well or they will go bad fast. Just send us an email and well send out a a few replacements.


 Fan is only really needed during the initial node sync, but if your using the system for more stuff other than just mining and running the node should probably leave it on. CPU temps are good up to 85c on this.

I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS.
