El Salvador’s Bitcoin Reserve Could Surpass $800 Million as Market Momentum Builds.

El Salvador is approaching another historic milestone in its Bitcoin journey, with its national reserve now valued at approximately $792 million—the highest level since the country began systematically purchasing the cryptocurrency in 2021. According to market tracker DropsTab, frequently cited by President Nayib Bukele, El Salvador’s portfolio currently includes 6,341 bitcoins.
The surge reflects Bitcoin’s ongoing bullish trend. Over the weekend, BTC reached a new all-time high of $125,559 and remained steady near $125,337 on Monday, maintaining its position above previous records set in August. Over the last month, Bitcoin has climbed more than 12%, driven by growing institutional demand and favorable macroeconomic factors.
Government purchases of Bitcoin have totaled around $300 million, according to DropsTab data, meaning the country’s unrealized profits are nearing $491 million. Analysts suggest that if current market conditions persist, El Salvador’s reserve could exceed $800 million in value within days, reinforcing its long-term digital asset accumulation strategy.

The rally has been fueled by strong inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, which attracted $985 million last week alone. BlackRock’s IBIT ETF accounted for $340 million of that total, highlighting the accelerating institutional appetite for Bitcoin. Meanwhile, open interest in Bitcoin options has reached $80 billion, matching the futures market for the first time—a sign of growing sophistication and depth among professional investors.

Renowned fund manager Paul Tudor Jones recently compared the current Bitcoin cycle to the technology boom of the late 1990s, calling the asset “a compelling hedge against macroeconomic risks and fiscal imbalances.”
While short-term volatility remains possible, the combination of limited supply and record-breaking institutional demand continues to support a strong upward trajectory. For El Salvador, this market momentum not only boosts national holdings but also reaffirms its pioneering role as the first nation to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender and a long-term strategic reserve asset.

El Salvador to Host ‘Historic Bitcoin’ Festival with Free Family Activities.

El Salvador is preparing for an unprecedented celebration with “Historic Bitcoin,” an international event that will take place on November 12 and 13, 2025, in the Historic Center of San Salvador. Organized by the National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC), the festival aims to merge technology, education, and culture, transforming the heart of the capital into a global meeting point for Bitcoin innovation.

According to the ONBTC, “Historic Bitcoin” will bring together leading voices in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, including Ricardo Salinas Pliego, Jeff Booth, Max Keiser, Jack Mallers, Pierre Rochard, Jimmy Song, Darin Feinstein, Lina Seiche, and Stacy Herbert. The event will serve as a platform to discuss the future of money, financial sovereignty, and the cultural dimensions of decentralization.

In addition to the main conference, the ONBTC confirmed that the public will enjoy a wide variety of free activities in Plaza Gerardo Barrios. “There will be many free events throughout the day, including face painting for children ages 0 to 7 and mural creation for youth ages 7 to 17,” said Stacy Herbert, director of the ONBTC. A professional graffiti mural will also be painted and later displayed on a national building, symbolizing creativity and innovation.

The festival will feature open Bitcoin classes taught by students from the CUBO+ program, as well as evening broadcasts of keynote speeches on large LED screens with live translation, ensuring that everyone can participate without needing a ticket. These activities reflect the ONBTC’s vision of making Bitcoin accessible to all Salvadorans and strengthening El Salvador’s role as a global pioneer in Bitcoin adoption.

Discounted tickets for those wishing to attend the main conference are available at bitcoinhistorico.com and can be purchased exclusively with Bitcoin for $21 for local attendees. Organizers highlight that “a new era requires new ideas and new thinkers,” inviting both Salvadorans and international visitors to join a celebration that unites knowledge, culture, and technology.

Through “Historic Bitcoin,” El Salvador continues to position itself as the epicenter of Bitcoin innovation, promoting a vision of progress, inclusion, and economic transformation for the future.

The training was provided to high school students by Bitcoin Beach El Salvador.
More than 200 students from different high school levels at the National Institute of Usulután (INU) completed their Bitcoin diploma, in which they learned the theory and practical use of the cryptocurrency.
This training session was carried out through Bitcoin Beach El Salvador, with the goal of teaching young people the basics of cryptocurrency use, allowing them to use it in their daily lives or to start a business.
"Bitcoin Beach has a program called the ABCs of Bitcoin that is offered in some institutions or communities. This is our fourth graduation at INU, and more than 200 students participated in the diploma," said @Luis21satoshi, the teacher in charge of Bitcoin Beach in the eastern region.
The students were taught the everyday uses of cryptocurrency in a philosophical, practical, and technological way; they also learned about financial topics such as inflation, how banks work, and the economy.
"After I took the first course, a classmate and I decided to train as teachers to provide information about Bitcoin. It's exciting to see how much we've been able to contribute to others' knowledge," said Alisson Márquez, an INU student and Bitcoin Beach teacher.

Students at the National Institute of Usulutan are learning about Bitcoin, and there are more than 200 students here, including a mix of male and female teenagers, who are learning about Bitcoin to make the future of the country successful and to become more aware of Bitcoin. They are learning by grasping Bitcoin. The beautiful environment and beautiful scenery that strengthen the mind have made every student more interested in learning about Bitcoin, and the students who will learn about Bitcoin in the next class are also waiting to learn about Bitcoin.

This kind of Bitcoin education in El Salvador will definitely have positive results for the country. The aim of teaching students about Bitcoin is not only to prioritize financial independence, but also to teach them about a new technology that is emerging. Currently, in El Salvador, several organizations are helping the government to help students in that country, such as

1. CUBO+
2. La Casa Del Bitcoin (Paxful Initiative)
3. Mi Primer Bitcoin
4. Node Nation, and some other organizations are taking responsibility and teaching students about Bitcoin.

The above organizations educate El Salvadoran students about financial knowledge, technology, and various topics related to Bitcoin.

Such steps by the government of El Salvador will definitely provide some benefits. When students gain a good knowledge of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, they will be able to create various related jobs in their own country and abroad.

Being knowledgeable about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency can help new entrepreneurs improve their businesses by adopting Bitcoin. They will be able to handle everything from accepting digital payments to transacting with foreign customers.

They will also gain a better understanding of economics, especially how inflation devalues money and what to do to protect against inflation.

The children of El Salvador will gain as much knowledge about coins as you can imagine because when a child is taught, they immediately absorb that knowledge and they will never forget it because they are being taught about Bitcoin, so they will be wise from a young age and will make wise investments. But they will not be less wise than us, but they will be much wiser and more experienced. One decision has attracted the children of their country to this, which is very good and will have an impact on the economy of the country. I think if all other countries take similar steps like El Salvador, they will also be able to move forward in the future.

Argentina and El Salvador Deepen Ties in Science, Technology, and Social Development

The governments of El Salvador and Argentina have signed the Fourth Technical-Scientific Cooperation Program, marking a renewed commitment to advancing South-South collaboration for the 2025–2027 period. The agreement was formalized during the IV Meeting of the Joint Commission on Technical and Scientific Cooperation, held at the Salvadoran Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Karla de Palma, Director General of the Salvadoran Agency for International Cooperation (ESCO), emphasized that “this partnership further strengthens the excellent friendship between our nations and deepens our joint work in key areas of shared interest.”

During his visit, Estrémé also toured the Urban Centers for Wellbeing and Opportunities (CUBOS) to learn about their social impact and explore new avenues for collaboration. The event was attended by Salvadoran and Argentine diplomats, including ambassadors Miriam Elena Mena and Sergio Luis Iaciuk.

I think they are not out smarting IMF with those things they do but rather they are navigating edges of compliance. Maybe they can show up to this institutions that somehow Bitcoin investment is reliable option to adopt by countries.

Maybe for now IMF still skeptical but maybe if El Salvador succeed this institutions won't not bother other countries decision if they are going to invest on Bitcoin.

El Salvador totally maneuver the situation and it works well to them then this is the reason on why IMF stop their criticism against them.

Yeah, I too think that way.

IMF will be with them whether they want it or not, so it's best to try to come to an agreement rather than "going off" the chase Grin

Sometimes, we need to make some steps back before making a huge leap forward.

I want to believe that because of Bukele's transparency and his dedication in improving the governance of the country also his good plans towards her citizens, the IMF might just be caught up in Bukele's web by not having any choice than to support his decision to continue with bitcoin investment thereby adopting bitcoin regulatory frame work made by the President, and they are yet to see the risk involved in bitcoin being obvious and materializing. Therefore they have no choice that support his decision and not imposing their's on him

Look, IMF is a donor organization, they give loans to different countries and take them back with interest. So if any country is facing economic shortage, then it must take a loan, in that case IMF helps by giving a loan. But in this place El Salvador takes a loan and with that money it eliminates the economic shortage of the country and there may be a possibility of using it in the case of Bitcoin as well (guess). In that case IMF this organization thinks that El Salvador is buying Bitcoin with this fiat loan of ours, due to which they impose a ban.
But El Salvador is adamant in buying Bitcoin, no matter how many bans come, they do not care about it, but are busy buying Bitcoin regularly and holding it for a long time.

I wish my country also have the kind of El-Salvador's mind in allowing for Bitcoin adoption and creating a friendly regulatory framework for the citizens engagements over the use of bitcoin, I can see the desperation in my country starting from how the younger generations are very desperate with digital currency opportunities in crypto starting from bitcoin, but the leaders are turning a deaf hears to attend to the demands from the people.

I don't think there is any government in the world that will see or hear what El Salvador government is doing that will not wish to do the same thing, just that they don't have the knowledge El Salvador government have to make cryptocurrency legal tender in their country.

El Salvador government have conscience of their citizens not to use regulatory to frustrate their citizens that will like to show interest in cryptocurrency. There are some governments that will have this opportunity to make cryptocurrency legal tender in their country, they will make it hard for people not to show interest because of the high tax government will impose in cryptocurrency.

The Kenyan government has passed a bill that makes Bitcoin legal in the country. Nearly 60 million citizens in Kenya will now be able to use Bitcoin and crypto legally. The decentralized economy is expanding around the world as the days go by.

Currently, the young generation of most countries in the world is turning to Bitcoin because in this era of online, they are getting to know about Bitcoin very well and their interest in Bitcoin is increasing day by day. I think you may be one of the young people in your country and that is why you are discussing the issue of giving legal validity to Bitcoin in your country. Even if you want to decide to use Bitcoin as an alternative currency, the government of a country does not take it easily. Maybe the president of El Salvador has taken such a decision, but it was very challenging for him, but why would the government of your country take such a challenge where it can lose its power. In using Bitcoin as an alternative currency, your country will consider many things such as what is the education rate in your country, which profession people are more involved in, or what is the financial condition of your country. If all these things are positive, then the government of your country can think about it, but it is a long way off to decide on this.

Continue using Bitcoin as you currently do and hope that one day you too will be able to use Bitcoin directly in your country and purchase various products with Bitcoin.

In the Bitcoin Zone, created by @bitcoinofficesv  at BINAES, the bonsai symbolizes more than beauty and balance, it represents the process of building with purpose of shaping without controlling.
Like this tree, Bitcoin in El Salvador grows under conscious yet free guidance, with roots grounded in sovereignty and branches reaching toward innovation. Every curve of its trunk reflects the patient effort of a nation that chose to cultivate its own technological path, combining tradition, vision and courage.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2025/10/14/UMRMRq.jpeg
El Salvador is currently a country that is buying Bitcoin almost every day. They have taken Bitcoin to a level that is surprising to hear. El Salvador should be called the king of Bitcoin in my opinion. They have purchased almost all the equipment to use Bitcoin and are teaching all the students how Bitcoin works in their educational institutions. This will make El Salvador one of the best Bitcoin countries in the future.

There is nothing to be expected from most leaders today, because what matters most to them is how they can stay in power longer and maintain their positions. They do not really care about how Bitcoin can be used as an innovation that brings positive change to the country, how it can expand financial inclusion, and provide opportunities for young people to be empowered through knowledge about Bitcoin and economic impact of digital currency.

The people of El Salvador are very fortunate to have a leader like Nayib Bukele because he was able to see the potential of Bitcoin and adopt it in their country, and he also cares about teaching Bitcoin and financial literacy to young people through their education curriculum. This is something that is rarely done by other leaders, and this is what makes Nayib Bukele a good leader.

The Kenyan government has passed a bill that makes Bitcoin legal in the country. Nearly 60 million citizens in Kenya will now be able to use Bitcoin and crypto legally. The decentralized economy is expanding around the world as the days go by.

At this stage now this is an exciting moment for we Africans because Kenya is about to take a boldly step to recognise bitcoin as a legal tender. If everything can go as plan kenya can be the second country in Africa to recognize bitcoin.

The Central African Republic is the first Africa country and second all over the world that recognised bitcoin as a legal tender in the year 2022, despite their economy challenges they embraced bitcoin and it's as improved their activities. I hope other africa countries will learn from them.

It seem Africans will be the next to take the lead in bitcoin adoption as a legal tender, following El-Salvador and Central African Republic, while Kenya may be the second in Africa after CAR, but all these are bills, we don't know how long it might take for approval by the governments in their respective countries, it will be a good thing if the majority of the African countries were able to realize the importance of growing up their economy under a decentralized economy, because we can see the way a number of their teaming youths keep to advancing in the use of bitcoin for their own individual benefits without the support of government.

El Salvador is preparing a major expansion of public education funding for 2026, positioning the sector as a strategic pillar for development. The national budget proposal assigns $1.641 billion to education, a 6.9% increase from 2025. Of that total, $636 million will finance seven large-scale programs focused on infrastructure, technology, early childhood development and school modernization
Sociologist René Martínez highlighted that “the Government of President Nayib Bukele has made education a strategic line to drive the country toward conditions of social development that gradually overcome the inequality that has dominated two centuries of history.” Analysts describe this effort as a “quantum-qualitative leap” in the country’s teaching and learning system. The largest allocation of funds will go to early childhood development through the Crecer y Aprender Juntos program with $170.5 million, followed by $140 million for Mi Nueva Escuela, and $101.9 million for nationwide school infrastructure improvements. Additional funds will support digital access, modernization of the education system and increased school coverage.

Public administration specialist Nelson Flores said the investment reflects “a clear vision to transform the country from its foundations in the short, medium and long term,” and stressed that it also strengthens working conditions for teachers.
Finance Minister Jerson Posada told lawmakers that “these amounts for the Education budget have never before been assigned,” marking the highest funding level in modern Salvadoran history. The Legislative Assembly is expected to debate and approve the proposal in mid-November.

Even the youngest children in El Salvador, who are only 7 years old, are being taught about Bitcoin. Those who learn about Bitcoin from a young age are certainly very knowledgeable and the future of the nation, in the future these new Bitcoin students will be able to take the country of El Salvador to greater heights of development. This is why the country of El Salvador has achieved the highest reputation because they are moving forward in all aspects of Bitcoin and educating the future nation.

I'm not even surprised at theis not for even a bit because so far they have become so dedicated to this cause of accumulating Bitcoins almost at all times. Since El Salvador has already adopted and made it a legal tender and not only that, they've also made it as part of the foreign exchange reserve, so it's only natural for them key into purchasing more and more of it.

El Salvador is currently one of the countries in the world that buys one bitcoin every day, and in order to stay in the international discussion after recognizing bitcoin as legal tender after 2021, the country's president has issued a slogan that he will buy one bitcoin every day. Since then, El Salvador has been buying at least one bitcoin per day and occasionally buying and holding more than one bitcoin to diversify his investments. El Salvador currently holds Bitcoin in 14 different wallets in the country's reserves.
