What are some long term projects for holding?

I'm new to this whole thing and recently I've realised that too many projects are volatile and not trustworthy.

Any suggestions for tokens that are more trustable and worth holding for 6 months and more? I will do my own research of course.

You definitely need to keep bitcoin and stablecoins in your portfolio, check later you will understand why you need to do this.
There are many good coins, but I think that now many such coins are expensive.
Pay attention to ethereum, polkadot, chainlink, near, atom, avalanche, solana.

Welcome. There's no guarantee, i think even the birds know this saying by now.
But, i'd advise investing in something more stable and proven.

Stay with the established coins that you can see on coinmarketcap or coingecko. There are many of them to choose from but not all of it are going to worth to hold for 6 months or more. That's a short term goal, I think you should look with those coins that are currently at the top 100 but didn't moved a lot. Maybe their time will come as most of the alts have pumped already and if they didn't get the attention and pump that they should do along side with Ethereum and other common altcoins then they might be the next coins to pump.

I have all these coins in holding until ETH turned 4000$ weeks back and I instantly let go of them all, now I'm buying back little by little taking the advantage of every dips, all I can say is these coins will go way down very soon and that will be good time to start picking them up one by one

Volatile is normal in crypto space because it's how demand and supply works without any central entity control it, IMO what you really want to say is pump and dump scheme. It's a manipulation from the developer or a whale of most new altcoins, because it's less holder than other top coins.

Of course the right answer is Bitcoin, you'll not see any developer or people spam shilling about Bitcoin. And it's a very good coin for long term holding, not like those centralized coin.

Six months and more is not really a long-term hodling. Long-term holding means at least 2-3 years. In the past, it has also been shown that this is the time period with which one has virtually never made a loss with the vast majority of projects. Even if you bought coins at the peak in December 2017 and then had a price loss of over 90% with many projects, you would have a big profit, had you held until today.

You look like to have good experience already. If you know that some projects are volatile, then you can sell off at the highs and wait to fill up again because in essence that is what the purpose is, selling and buying, deep and bull.

If 6 months is okay for you hodling for profit then you don't need to worry about the trust worthiness of the projects , just go for the kill. But usually 6 months is still a small time to expect a valuable project to make profit. Example for Ethereum has stayed longer time below $300 before it started making alot of gains. So also many other altcoins have stayed longer time before profiting now. The proper thing to do is to buy at a right time, buying at deep is better to buy in bulk. Bitcoin, Ethereum, BnB have been a good project.

I think ETH、BTC、BNB、HT、DOT、ICP can be held for a long time, they still have a lot of room for growth.

Bitcoin is everything. Everything I earn from altcoins I throw into bitcoin.
Polkadot, Ethereum, Binance Coin, Uniswap, Mina.

The long term projects to hold in my opinion are BNB and DOT, because these two coins are rumored to be Ethereum competitors,
and it is possible that one of these two coins will replace ethereum in the future, and what it looks like right now is only BNB,

In the long term, I would choose layer 1 tokens. Some solid projects that are well being developed are DOT, Fantom, Luna, AVAX, Near. I don't choose Cardano or Polygon because they were overhyped and already increased by multiple times. Another type of token should be mentioned is exchange tokens. They will grow along with exchanges' development. Each mentioned platform has a specific top tier AMM. That AMM's token should be chosen.

If you are looking for a trusted long term project that's the token or coin price is still very low and market cap still very little, then I will like to suggest student coin to you, student coin is already listed on several good exchanges and the tokens is still very low as its yet to be discovered by many.
Also take a look at Bitgesell, bgl is a coin running on its own blockchain, this project is very promising, and the beauty of this project is that the coin has a very low supply and still very cheap at the moment, a very good time to buy and holdfor good profit in the future.

First of all, I would say you should not target long time investment right now. Market is huge up now from last year this time. You would rather wait for more dip which will happen soon I think.
And, if you are targeting long time, it would be good to target the top altcoins like ETH, IOTA, ENJ and some more.

Try to take a look at some hyped coins that maybe worth to be used at least for the next 6 months from now.
Casper, mina, sovryn, fish, cake, uni and maybe you can also pick from the top 100 CMC and there are some coins like kusama is also worth to be considered as a good investment. DYor is a must and this is just a suggestion but the decision is yours. You should remember that if you must able to enter in the market when the price reached another low level. That gives you more guarantee to make money from there.

I agree with ETH, DOT, MATIC ones I am not sure about the others, I am not saying they are bad or anything I just do not know about them so I can't make a comment so they could be awesome or they could be horrible and I wouldn't know about it. However I would add UNI, CAKE, BNB to them as well.

So, if you have btc, eth, bnb, dot, matic, cake, uni all together in your portfolio that would actually make out to be a great portfolio in the long term if you ask me. I am not even joking that could very well make 10x in few years easily. Of course I do not like to talk in certainty because people end up making these decisions based on what they read online and I would advise you not to make investment based on what I say, I am just a regular guy and I try to make as much profit as anyone else but I do not have magical powers that can see the future.

It will seem that everyone will want to shill tokens they hodl given an opportunity like this. However, some will still be object without bias. Just have the spirit of discernment while going through suggestions here. Again, make sure to check token historical data and charts before buying in so you don't buy into the top.

Apart from Bitcoin,  any other altcoin may just be a gamble in the long run!  I bought Matic (now polygon)  in 2018 on binance at $0.002. This year Matic rose to $2 and I  have forgotten I  had it on binance until I logged in and saw lots of money in my account! In order to maximize your investment in Cryptocurrency,  you must have a long term outlook and pick project that can solve existing and other potential problem in the future!
