Google recently updated their policies regarding Google Ads and will now allow ads related to cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets provided they have registered with FinCEN. This change is set to take effect in August 2021. As you may recall, the ban was imposed in March 2018 and lasted almost three years.

This easing of crypto advertising restrictions is a positive sign. Google appears to be warming up to bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general as many governments, financial institutions and private companies are increasingly liberalizing their crypto policies these days. What do you think?

This is a good decision by Google. Instead of generally banning all crypto, they're finally opened their mind by setting rules on crypto-related advertisements. Just like Facebook last time. They banned crypto-related FB ads, but now they're allowing it. Better than none at all.

I now think that it is not a good decision by google, because i have seen far too many scams that were caused by google ads. It's so much easier for criminals. Google opens the gates and TikTok closes them, it looks like they taking turns. The range is higher with google, but with TikTok they are much more precise.

Google should get to clean the crypto ads because those scams will keep coming on their platform to advertise their scam and get as many victims as they can.
I'm not sure why Google has always been like this and somehow quiet and don't give any word about how they're tackling those scam advertisements that are using their platform to trick people.

And this is where report button or links been provided because as a big platform or search engine or company it isnt really that easy to identify which website or ads is a scam.

There are really pro's and con's on lifting out the ban because it would really be spammed out by lots of those scam websites but i cant really blame off google for this

but rather would be babbling about peoples stupidity and lack of research because no one would be get scammed if they do just know on what theyre doing.

Finally, after 3 years! Let's just hope that this will not have a negative effect, as people are often annoyed by the rising number of ads and, subconsciously, the anger becomes directed towards the advertised object.

However, I don't understand why they didn't allow advertising websites that simply compare cryptocurrency issuers?
Quote
Ad destinations that aggregate or compare issuers of cryptocurrencies or related products

Surely, the opinion and comparative analysis on such websites could be biased, which poses a threat to some extent, but apart from that, that doesn't seem like something particularly harmful. Especially considering the fact that the Internet is full of such websites anyway and it's almost impossible to find a sound analysis as the criteria everyone uses in terms of comparing cryptocurrencies differ depending on the context and features compared.

Let us say that those buttons were overly used but with their actions, they're taking time to respond to all of those and those scam ads have already victimized more before they take any actions. Well, as for those people that searches and falling into those scam ads, Google should be stepping in and taking actions for them to clean their platform by removing those scams so it's a coordination of users and mainly by them for the removal.
