Google has lifted its ban on crypto advertisements

Google and Facebook are the two who banned crypto ads in 2017 but a year ago I already saw crypto ICO ads on facebook. This will still be auto, they don't manually check whether the advertisers are scams or not. They don't care about it as long as they get money out of it, there was even a DIEM ad on facebook itself but was a scam.

Google recently updated their policies regarding Google Ads and will now allow ads related to cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets provided they have registered with FinCEN. This change is set to take effect in August 2021. As you may recall, the ban was imposed in March 2018 and lasted almost three years.

This easing of crypto advertising restrictions is a positive sign. Google appears to be warming up to bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general as many governments, financial institutions and private companies are increasingly liberalizing their crypto policies these days. What do you think?

I can even see crypto exchange, wallet advertisements on the YouTube so how these ads passed the Google requirements and keep playing on most of the videos related to cryptocurrencies and investment.

Google should never promote a project because thise projects created with purpose of money making.

The ad platform is solely made for the purpose of making money. They build it and collect data from users to target them with ads that fit the demographics of the users interest.

It was just a matter of time and they now understand that staying out of cryptocurrency is not the best option for them too in terms of Business. Whilst many other platforms may have been generating profits from allowing crypto ads, Google has finally realized that and going back on its stands. This is what happens when people/institutions don't think things through before taking action because some didn't accept it before.
It is a good move in the right direction for both.

I couldn't care less about such news.Companies like Google can update their policies an infinite amount of times.They can allow advertising of cryptocurrency companies in August and ban crypto advertising in September.The US government might force Google to ban crypto ads at any time.

Looks fair because they are accepting advertisement of business that are registered with FinCEN and in the future they might be liberal regarding this once major countries will come out with their regulation. Google was forced to ban these advertisements because major scams were advertising through their platform which raised billions of dollars and they cannot let a wild market of scammers thrive with more visibility.

That's really a great news. Google has one in the website that is good with advertisement and many people are using google services which of course will be exposed to the advertisement of cryptocurrency. This could be a good sign that the big companies are now considering cryptocurrency and lets hope that soon all of them would be able to accept cryptocurrency as a mode of payment.

Is there a ban? Since i think the ban is just an announcement purposes, ive seen alot of text ads in google search results showing different exchange and crypto related platform including the fake one or phishing clone website.

It's up to the person now to protect themselves on phishing websites. Even though the scam site is on top due to SEO, Person can be careful and check the website if it's the legit or not. Doing own research is the best way to avoid scammer since Google can't fully protect there user on every possible attack.

That's the problem, it's up to the people and we know that an average person is really dumb and gullible on the Internet. Also, I would also worry with scams that will get your trust first by making pays to you and then we they feel like you have already taken the bait, that's when they pull the rug, I think that these kind of problem warrants a two pronged approach to eradicate the problem.

It is much better. This is a big help for a huge market spread and helps to send information. We know a lot of people using this platform and at this time, these people could be aware of cryptocurrency projects and possibly gives them the interest to invest.

We don't know how this criminals can bypass their policy check but even in 2021, there are a lot still appearing when you try to search like "Electrum", "Blockchain" thru their services. This are should be their priority if they really wanted to clean up crypto advertisements as a whole.

They will not take action until someone reported those sites as phishing since everyone are considered paying advertisers. And its up to users to report such ads as deceptive if they saw one. No report = No action from google side.

I think that with the lifting of the ban, they also added some new rules to crypto advertising so it's a bit more safer but you are right that we still have to be careful about it.

It's good that they did that because they aren't solving the problem with banning crypto advertisement, when what they really need is for a proactive search and destroy of scam advertisement that is flocking their platform.

Yes google at first misinterpreted many times regarding scams and crypto advertisements.
Also the scammers using the advantage of the fact that crypto is decentralised, so using it to scam people.
Lately google has understand the real value of cryptos and Bitcoin and now allowing to run ads.
Sundar Pichai also shared some infos regarding Bitcoin and cryptos in his Twitter account.
Maybe soon we can see some more info from Google in favor of BTC and cryptos.

Google's imposing a ban on crypto ads didn't affect anything much as it seems. Because I was still seeing some people who were getting scammed by frauds. Let's see what's gonna change after Google's lifting the ban.

Really.... Fck Google and the knight on the white horse he is riding with this gesture. They want to make money, but they got burnt when people started complaining that they were losing money on scam ICO's that was advertised on their platform.

Now they saw a loophole, where they can allow "Big Brother" certified companies to advertise on their platform. These platforms halted Crypto currencies progress for years.... and now they want to be the hero again.

That is good news for the crypto because people can place their ads again in the Google Ads, attracting many people out there who use Google to see the crypto ads. It seems Google realizes about crypto and wants to see how bigger the crypto market, and I think Google wants to get involved in the crypto world someday. This could maximize the pressence of bitcoin since advertisers now can promote their platforms with bitcoin pics on it but hopefully google will filter on what people going to advertise since there are so many scams and its really bad that scammers will use their platform to scam people. Regarding the advertisements that we are seeing in the internet world, I've noticed that the crypto advertisements are backing up, again and again, that's why I've researched it and I've seen that Google permits again the advertising of cryptocurrency over the internet surface. To be honest this is a great start for us again to re-establish the cryptocurrency and find other people who have the same mindset as us and due to the crypto advertisements over the internet, many people will see and will be having knowledge on what crypto is all about.
